Like checking the weather every day. The radio is very reliable It also will give you alerts when the weather is bad. I would give the radio a 10 plus.

I wanted to get a weather radio for the house to get up to date weather warnings. I looked at the various options at Best Buy and chose the Midland WR-300 Clock Radio. I keep it in the kitchen for easy access to local weather. It's a good option for the money.

As far as weather radios go, this is a very nice unit. My hope was to replace my old clock radio with this unit so I didn't have both a weather alarm and the old clock radio on my night stand. But the clock feature is almost worthless on this weather radio. The time shows up about 1/4" high X 1/2" wide. You almost need a magnifying glass to read the am/pm setting. At night the screen is not visible at all unless you press a button to light up the screen and when you do that it emits a loud beep. The alarm and clock radio work just fine but forget checking the time! I am going to have to go buy a separate clock so I can see what time it is. The unit was not hard to set up with instructions in hand, but I must say it is challenging without the instructions to do something as simple as changing the alarm time setting. There is a sequence of events that must be done properly to get to the correct menu spot and if you don't do this frequently it can be frustrating to remember which button to push when.

Everybody should own this radio to know bad weather is in the area. It gives me time to take cover if bad weather is in my area.

Radio FM not working well, so I decide to return it.

I purchased this product after Christmas 2009. I thought it would be great and much better than my RadioShack that wasn't working correctly. I'll tell you, this is a great radio. I was able to receive 4 Different NWR Channels, plus I like having the AM & FM Bands too. Being here in Iowa, you can be up to 60 Miles away from an NWR Transmitter and this one pulls signals in from 80 Miles out. However, I found that it had not been programmed to sound for Tornado Warnings. It is easy to program it in manually however. I would strongly recommend this to anyone I know. It's the best radio I've had.

I purchased this product right after the hurricane this August and when we had this weekend storm, it worked perfectly. It was easy to set up, and is compact to fit into any space. The notification light came on the day before the storm hit and I was notified as to the storm and high winds in the area. It can be programmed to your specific area and specific notifications you want. This is a great product and I'm so glad i bought it.

I set these (about a dozen of them)up for buildings at work. They are programmable to only show and go off on the exact alerts you want. Both type and location of alerts is programmable. If not interested in the programmability, there are easier to use options out there, and one must at least learn to muddle the menus to at least set the frequency. They are one touch on and off for weather or am/fm. The audio quality is decidedly tuned for the "radio weather voice" meaning it is poor for music and other listening (that could be a business bonus.) There is a computer interface for programming a larger batch of these. (I didn't have that for the dozen I rolled out.)

The weather radio is just what i wanted . the alarm only sounds if there is a tornado warning in my area. The first warning i had the alarm sounded and not 30 seconds later the tornado sirens went off. I like being able to select what events will sound the alarm and for what counties. very happy would recomend

We have this at our lake house where there are no sirens. It works great. Programmed the zip code in and it goes off every time there is a warning. Would recommend this to everyone.

every thing works great other then the weather alert that dont work very well when theres a storm warning in your area thats the main reason i got the weather radio mainly for the weather warnings in my area

I feel like an idiot trying to figure this radio out. Don't know if it works because we haven't had any warnings yet. Can't figure out how to make sure it works during a tornado warning which is the main reason I bought it. Tornado warning is on the list of warnings in the instruction booklet, but I can't even find it on the radio. I've looked online for help but not a lot of luck so far. Like I said, it's very confusing.

I THINK THEY SHOULD SET THEM UP AT THE STORE WHEN YOU BUY THEIR BLACK TIE WARRANTY. Still Fooling around with it, I may bring it back.

I had to return this today. After a couple of weeks of using it to wake up to the radio it stopped working. I get no reception on the FM radio as well as the weather radio. It just stopped working. I get no alerts, nothing. Just static. I can't find any alarm clock that I would trust more than Midland.
