This movie stayed true to history. The acting was phenomenal and the photography was exceptional. This is one of the best World War Two movies that I’ve seen in a long time. One of my favorites.

Viewing this in 4K is mind blowing - the visuals and sounds are like being at the movie theater!

Great re-telling of the historical battle with updated special effects. Told through the eyes of the pilots and intelligence officials. Some creative license used, sometimes veering away from actual events. Great in 4k.

Loosely based on the famous World War II battle, I thought the great actors are what reallyvsells the film. Great character acting with action mixed in.

Happily, this mega-large epic film is well organized to tell its visual story and its’ viewer understanding and satisfaction should be enhanced significantly after viewer review of the above acters and their respective characters along with a clear understanding of the characters duties and working positions/responsibilities. As a Side Note: There are over 15 principal acters Credited, more than 70 support (Credited) actors, more than 50 Uncredited actors, and over more than 900 support staff personnel – thus the estimated total production cost for this film was over $100,000,000 dollars. Significant care was taken not to glamorize this film because the totality of the real events that were more than big-enough to tell the story without fabrication of exploits. The story-line is well-told, and it is as historically accurate as possible. In an epic event to tell the story well the script is character-driven, recounting actual events, and unbelievable events that really happened. And it is told chronically and as history told it. The story was a truthful telling of both sides – from both Japanese and American prospective – in a visceral and an emotional way. In a story this big, the casting of characters is the name of the game for success, and both the Casting Director and the Film Director really got it right which made for both an interesting and satisfying viewer response. The character of LT. Dick Best [Squadron Commander, a proficient Pilot and accurate Dive Bomber] as the saga developed, became an axil that the film’s storytelling revolved around. Roland Emmerich is a Director of Directors – he really got the story right and insured that it would be both a memorable and positive emotional event for the viewer. The cinematography is a blend of stage acting and CGI blended together to produce an exceptionally clear and viewable story-telling that is accompanied with a thoughtful sound-track all put to ATMOS treatment putting the viewer at center stage – can’t get better than that!. After Adm.“Bull” Halsey returned his Carrier Task Force to Pearl Harbor from a highly successful slashing attack in the Soliman Islands he was reassigned to Naval Hospital to heal from an intensive rash outbreak on his body and Adm. Raymond Spruance commanded the Carrier Task Force that sortied from Pearl after refitting to a position about 200 nautical miles NE of Midway, and laid in-wait of an unknowing Japanese Carrier Task Force bent for an unopposed attack on Midway just as they had done Sunday December 7th 1941 at about 0715 at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. These two Admirals – Halsey and Spruance – would be at duty at sea, with their respective Carrier Task Forces, for 3+ more years until Wars end at Tokyo Bay with a formal surrender by the Japanese aboard the Battleship USS Missouri on Sept. 2nd 1945.

Midway on 4k Blu-ray is a very good deal. Good Movie. 2019 Version on this Movie (There is another Midway Movie).

Wasn’t too sure about this movie but it took me back in time and I really enjoyed watching it and also got it at a great price only at Best Buy

Not the most realistic depiction of this important World War II battle, but Roland Emmerich has a way of making us care about what we're seeing, plus I mainly picked it up for audio/video demo content and the disc certainly does not disappoint.

Great movie! Watching the 4k version on a television that isn't 4k, but nevertheless it's a truly great picture.

I purchased this one mainly for the action and Atmos features but really enjoyed the entire movie!
