We installed the game right after Christmas and my son played through Episode One. He said it was really fun. Even though he had some issues reading all the options for dialog in the short amount of time it gives you. I don't think he was really too concerned about the choices he was making or didn't realize the effect on the story. Which is good for replay-ability. However, when it came time to start Episode 2, it showed as Coming Soon, as did Episodes 3-4. I know these episodes are already out, but I was unable to download them. I rebooted the console, as well as logged into the main account on the XBox One. No change. At one point I was able to go to the download page, but it stated I needed to pay the $4.99 for each episode. I ended up having to delete the entire game (game save data stayed intact) and then I was able to download Episodes 2-4 (5 isn't out yet) without issue. Seems like a lot of wasted time. I'd advise making sure you install all the episodes before you start playing.

The game is not a full campaign from beginning to end, but chapters in a story. With this disk, you get chapters 1 – 5. You need to purchase DLCs to complete the story. My two sons, 6 and 12, both love Minecraft and thought the game was fun. As you move through the story, you are asked to make decisions, which my oldest enjoys. He likes to choose a variety of answers to play different personalities; the nice guy that tries to make everybody happy, or the selfish guy who doesn’t accept anyone else’s ideas, etc… There is a timer for the answers so you need to think fast. The game is very linear, so don’t believe the replay value is very high for the oldest. But I enjoy playing it with my youngest and we have had a lot fun.

My kids really enjoy this game, and it was fun to watch them play. It's an adventure story set in the Minecraft world, split into 5 episodes that are being released about a month apart. You must make decision, dialogue choices, and random quick time events as you follow a group of friends trying to stop a creature that will consume their world. The game is very cute, fun characters, and a clever story, but it does have some minor language (A weapon they are trying to build is called the F-Bomb) so sensitive parents may want to avoid this. Also, this is not geared to the action/adventure or open world gamers. But overall my kids love it and it makes them happy and have fun.

I bought this cause I knew I wanted to get all the episodes. This disc only contain episode 1, but with the disc, the other 4 episodes (out of 5) is downloadable without online purchase. Each episode isn't too long and "your" chosen character has "choices" that dictate how the story/game unfolds. Overall.. I don't think your choices really affect the eventual outcome, just how the other game characters, "react" to you. There isn't really any replayability unless your really want to go through the story again. Once is enough, but the kids and I did enjoy the episodes. Glad the cost isn't like regular games, (basically $5 or less/episode). FOr the price, the entertainment value is there. Just don't expect replayability.

I'm writing this from the prospective of my 6 year old, who just happens to be a Minecraft fan. In one word....fantastic! He likes it as it reminds him of all his LEGO games, which he also loves. He enjoys solving puzzles and exploring and this is exactly what this game is about. But I do need to help him a little as it does require some reading as you go through the story. The game requires that you have an Internet connection so you can download parts 2 through 5. The disc only contains part 1 of the entire game. Parents need to be aware that there are some mild language that gets thrown around in the game. Also some of the options have timers and a younger child may not have enough time to read and make decisions.

Bought this game as my son is a huge fan of Minecraft. It's completely different than what we were used to, but not in a bad way. The interactive play is fun and can become addictive. Only problem is, it's way too easy to go through the episodes and you have to wait to download the next episode when it becomes available. Another problem was the glitch in downloading the second episode, which eventually was worked out a few days later. For the money, it's not bad.

My daughter asked for this for Christmas and I know she LOVED it on her phone, so I was excited to find it and make her day. However the disappointment hit after beginning to play it. Not only is there a huge lag period bug this isn't age appropriate at all!!!! She's 10 and they used a lot of inappropriate language. We packaged it up and returned it. So pleased that Best Buy didn't even bat an eye when I explained why it needed to be returned, since usually once they are opened they can only be returned for the same item!

I bought this game for my son (7) who is a fan of Minecraft. He loves playing this game and can't wait for each episode to come out. This game puts a story into the Minecraft game which is like a choose your adventure book from years past. While I haven't played the game myself it was entertaining to watch my son make the choices in the game and solve the basic puzzles when they came up. The only drawback for kids I think is that they will have to wait for all the episodes to be released.

So, I got this on sale and pretty pleased. I wouldn't wanna pay $60 for it but I paid about half that and I'm ok with that. It's been worth many hours of game play for my 8 year old, who loves the game. It's like those old "Choose Your Own Adventure" books I read as a kid. It's a story with very little game play. You get several episodes for free download with purchase of the game. Then there's some you can pay for after that. I don't know if I'll buy any. We will see.

If your kids are into playing mine craft this is a fun way to spend time to gather playing a game that has a plot. My 2 kids ages 5 and 7 love to play mine craft but other than making things there is no point. You don't really make anything specific in this game but there is a interesting plot to the game and it comes in 5 episodes with different things to do. Not very hard for kids to figure out and there will be more levels or episodes coming out in the future

i did not exactly understand what this game was, only that my minecraft crazy kid wanted it for his birthday. basically this is a long choose your own adventure, and not much of a video game. he blew threw all 4 available chapters in 2 days, and said he doubts he will redo it to see different twists. that having been said, he loved it and cant wait for episode 5. so an average score is the best i can do.

Hold out if you don't care about the disc and you will eventually get this game cheap. I wanted to have it on my shelf. I am a HUGE fan of Tell Tale and have played everything with the exception of Back to the Future. I think this one is fun. While not my favorite, as Minecraft is not my favorite, I think fans of the game would love this story. Tell Tale has a great sense of humor and it's good clean fun.

Bought the game for my daughter and she enjoys it. The set up is the disc has episode 1 and you will need to DL the rest of the episodes when they are released. There was an issue with being able to DL episode 2 but it seems to have cleared for Xbox 1. She is now watching/playing episode 2. If you or someone you know enjoys Minecraft, this is a good choice for a holiday (or any day) gift.

I love Telltale games so i had to grab this while on sale. Was actually surprised by the story as i progressed. Unfortunately now there is an extra 3 episodes to make 8 total and disc only covers the first 5 episodes... Would suggest anyone thinking of getting maybe wait until the 8 episode season pass disc comes out, if they plan on making a disc for that...

I bought this for my son, and he thinks it's okay. Honestly, the original Minecraft fills a unique niche and they should have stuck with it. This game attempts to be a linear RPG with minor elements of the original and it just comes up a bit short in my opinion. If you want a more interaction with 8-bit graphics then go ahead and give this a try.

I bought this game for my son and he likes it. He loves Minecraft and this is an excellent game that goes along the same line. You get to pick from four characters at the beginning and throughout the whole game there are choices that have to be made. The choices that you make determines how the game progresses and ends. He loves playing it.

The disk only includes episodes 1-5, however episodes 1-4 is an entire story arc and episodes 5-8 while involving the same characters is a different story arc. I quite enjoyed all 5 episodes here however, while episode 5 was not bad, it feels out of place as it episode 4 wraps the story until then very well and episode 5 starts a new story.

I gotta be honest, I never got into or enjoyed Minecraft. I played it with my kids and for achievements but found it boring. Story mode is much more enjoyable. It plays a lot like The Walking Dead, where you choose your dialogue and it determines the game choices. I've only played through episode one so far but really liked it.

Being a fan of the company that made this game and knowing very little about the Minecraft universe I gave it a shot. While it has its charm and is funny I couldn't get over the bad Minecraft graphics. But the kids love Minecraft so graphics shouldn't be an issue to them or anyone else who cares for the series

My two boys, aged 6 and 7, seem to like it, but not nearly as much as the regular Minecraft. I have never played it but just by looking at it I know that it is too slow paced for my tastes. I need waaaay more action. I would recommend it for children and hardcore Minecraft fans but not for action game fans.
