Good for my kids, too slow for me.

I have never played it but just by looking at it I know that it is too slow paced for my tastes. I need waaaay more action. I would recommend it for children and hardcore Minecraft fans but not for action game fans.

Trying too hard to be like other games.

Honestly, the original Minecraft fills a unique niche and they should have stuck with it. This game attempts to be a linear RPG with minor elements of the original and it just comes up a bit short in my opinion. If you want a more interaction with 8-bit graphics then go ahead and give this a try.
