If you're looking to connect to an external display this is the adapter you need. It's one of if not the best option for your surface.

It's an adapter. It has one job to do, and it does it. What more can you ask for? It is essential for the Surface pro unless you are always going to be tethered to a dock; otherwise, the Pro just doesn't have the ports you need.

Did the trick! In todays world of power source plugs and input adapters finding the right this to that product is hard for us old folks and frankly sometimes the quality of the knock off brands stink -- however this one was the right adapter (first time pick - no returns!) and its made well.

This product is designed to help you plug in an HDMI cable to your surface pro 4 dock. I do wonder why Microsoft didn't just put an HDMI port in the dock, but who am I to question them :) It works and that's what matters.

Small and works great, nice to not have a long cable. I use a surface for work and this was compatible to a surface 3pro

If you have a Surface and need adapters for your monitor(s), do not buy any other brand except the Microsoft branded adapters. These are guaranteed to work with your surface without any other downloading figuring out etc. they are truly plug in play. My entire company uses surfaces for their PCs and we have always had trouble with other branded adapters. Stick with the Microsoft ones you will have zero issues with your displays.

Easy to use, Works great with the Surface Pro 4. I recommend for uses who are at there desk a lot.

I can't really complain, the device works as expected. I've had some minor issues, however, when plugging in my TV to my Surface Pro 4. After plugging in the device to the TV (via an HDMI cable), the Surface doesn't seem to realize the TV can play audio. To play audio through the TV, I need to reboot my Surface with the device plugged in. once I do that, however, I don't have any issues and everything works as expected. I just need to do that any time I leave the device detached for an extended period of time. Weird.

Saw cheaper cables but wanted to use Microsoft products. Great quality and easy to use.

This adapter works as advertised. Nothing fancy. Little pricey for what it does though.

I like the fact that I can support 2 monitors directly from the docking station. Also, you can pick the viewing angle of the SP with this new docking station.

One of the challenges about the mostly awesome Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is the lack of ports. Basically, you have a USB and the mini-DisplayPort. In my case, the USB is taken up by the wireless dongle for the mouse, so to connect the tablet to a monitor requires this device. It's solidly built and works as directed. This adaptor is a good alternative, too, to the overpriced docking station Microsoft sells, if all you are doing is connecting to a monitor.

This magical box magically puts your surface screen on to a magical screen that tiny humans talk on. I consider it black magic, but I use it anyway.

As an instructor this device is a must. I travel to many locations that use large screen LCD displays for power point presentations requiring HDMI connections. This device works every time, no matter which brand display. It is great to use my own laptop during a lecture. Do not hesitate to make this purchase, never a problem.

I had to get this adapter to show my computer screen on a large TV at a trade show. Was a little worried since I didn't have the HDMI port, but this worked better than expected. The quality was perfect and I could not see any lack in quality. Glad I have it and will always carry it with me for trade shows and other presentations.

Works great on Surface Pro 3. A bit pricey, but microsoft official. Plug and play, easy to use.
