*^*CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION*^* ~Previous to Mint SIM card purchase, {(2) 3 mo. 10 GB - out approx $162!!!}, Mint CS assured me my phone {as per IMEI} & zip code were compatible with their service. The first time they assured me my phone would work. (lie). ~ activated 10/23/18, as per instructions included. Didn't work. · had to remove Mint Sim to call their CS for a fix. - I was instructed to enter a variety of codes in different locations & wait. (screenshots available). ~once it finally worked, service was spotty, at best. - red screen, 'emergency calls only'. (screenshots available). - phone calls rarely come through.   · I'm told, oftentimes, when people call my phone, they don't even get the option to leave me a message on my voicemail. Also, it doesn't ring, it's just dead air sound.    * this is very concerning for me, BC I am on a new medical device & I'm having a difficult time regulating it with my doctor & those involved with my care. ~Data and Wi-Fi issues: - a phone call, I'm morning options aren't even an option. - on the occasion, when I can get it to connect, it disconnects. (looking things up online, I'm constantly told I'm offline). (pics available). - when I can access an online connection, I can move quicker, crawling backwards then the data speed allows. ~my screen freezes and doesn't respond, even trying to shut it off and restart, that isn't an option, BC it's frozen. ~before purchasing a new phone, as per advice from many Mint CS, I called Mint to confirm my new phone would be compatible {while at Best Buy on Black Friday, I was assured that the Moto X4 would be}, BC they told me I needed one. (recording available). *** please note, I have been in contact, repeatedly, with Mint Mobile CS before and during my service began. I've got recorded phone calls and pictures to prove all of this. Along with a report from Best Buy's Geek Squad. I wound up having to exchange the Moto X4, & two other phones, the following Monday, all during the same visit. None of them would work with the Mint SIM card in. (Best Buy Geek Squad report available) No solution has been provided, hence the reason I am now coming to social media. I may have been robbed, by Mint mobile, but I believe in the good in people. Therefore, I will not let this break me. I feel that if I can save just one person with this information, that will help me to feel better. I haven't worked  in more than 7 1/2 years, due to a bad accident, so I will be paying for this charge on my credit card for a long time.

Bought the 3 mo promo deal on assurances my phone was 'Rockstar' for Mint service. I stuck it out for a month, now I'm back with Cricket & a nice new complementary phone to boot. I was never unhappy with Cricket but decided the price was right to try Mint. Here's why I didn't even want my last two months with them: I couldn't even send a picture in MMS. But I could receive them from others. Spotty or slow service/signal. Annoying texts from them at 3am just to tell me how many days left on the plan, etc. That IRRITATING Fox character not only does the commercials but answers the phone. Their website & app are horrible & the customer support chat is useless ( oh yeah, cutesy Fox is there too, telling you he'll have 'an adult get back to you on that'). You cannot even get your account # online. They make you call in for that - during regular business hours. I suppose it's an effort to dissuade dissatisfied customers from porting over to new carriers. The one credit I'll give is that the actual humans I spoke to we're all very helpful. But it didn't change the crappy cell/data service.

I signed up directly because there waa a 3 week wait to get from Best Buy, i regret signing up. The talk portion works, but the data part is a big problem. here is the reason. Since this is a discounted service of T-Mobile, the Mint service is provisioned as a second tier customer, meaning tmobile customers get preference to the network, you will get second dibs. now this is why its a problem, downloads and connections are inconsistent at best, if you do streaming music/video, it will cut out at best and time out reguarly, if you look up an address on a map app, it will most likely time out a couple of times before it works. General browsing will time out or take long. In this case, you did get what you pay for. If you must must must sign up for Mint, sign up for the lowest data plan, since you wont be able to use data properly, i figure you will need alot less of it. my 2 cents.

This has been the worst experience I have ever had with any service provider, phone or anything else. First my land line could not connect to any mint mobile number. I got mint mobile for myself, my wife and my son. First I was unable to call any of these mobile numbers (an important requirement). It took appx 4 weeks to fix this. Then they changed the plan-which I was assured by the initial sales person would not happen. this raised the cost from $25 a month 5GB-which was more than I needed-to $35 month 8Gb-totally not needed. Then they offered me a $30 credit that could only be used for extra data and international roaming-totally useless for my purposes. I would not recommend them to anyone ever.

Terrible tech support, no 2-factor verification

Buyer beware - MintMobile does NOT support short code messages used for 2-factor verification with banks etc. I was also never able to get group texts to work properly in spite of contacting tech support multiple times - they never got back to me as promised other than to ask if the issue had been resolved. When I finally got them on the phone they just told me to check my APN settings, which I had already done multiple times and then finally told me that they do not support short code messages. I finally moved to another company and asked for a refund, but because it had now been more than 7 days I'm just out the $80 I paid. Thanks for nothing MintMobile

The price for a "tryout" was only $45 for 3 months of service with 2 GB Data and unlimited talk & text. Mint uses the T-Mobile network for service and if it works out for you Mint is one of many T-Mobile providers that could work for you. Make sure your phone works on T-Mobile networks and give it a try. Unfortunately, the service is marginal at my home (Verizon is best in my small town (outside Las Vegas) of 20,000). Also, the most you can prepay (to get the lowest rates) is 12 months. You can go month to month and take the renewals at whatever the monthly rate is.

I have been using Mint now for 6 months and find them much better than Cricket and Verizon prepaid for data speed! Coverage is very good here in N. California and everything just works. I did not have to provision my unlocked Moto G5 Plus phone (and T-Mo phone works without unlocking) and call quality and mms/picture mail, and internet browsing has been much faster than Cricket and Verizon as they both slow their speeds. For $15. a month, it's a sweet deal.

Can't activate it online or via phone

This was an utter fail. Would not activate online. Then trying to create an account and provided credit card info it failed to create account. Then on phone I was told I had a card that was to be paid for at 7 eleven, and that I needed to pay $45 for service. Pay $45 to bestbuy then $45 more is not the deal bestbuy claimed. The agent then stated I needed to call back in an hour or more. Wonderful way to waste my time. This deal qualifies as too good to be true. Pay more, get more. I guess I will return it.

    Poor Service - Disconnection Problems

Terrible customer service. One morning i could no longer make calls or send text messages. I called customer service multiple times. Once they told me that i "lost the connection to the tower". Another time they told me "its been escalated to Tmobile" but they have no way to check the status. If you want reliable service do not go with this carrier.

As an exchange student, i was looking for affordable options out there. Mint sim is was of the most affordable network that I was able to find. I havent used other US networks so i am not sure how it compares to others, but call quality was good, and Internet is really fast!

My teen son wanted to switch to a plan with unlimited text messages and this is one of the most affordable we could find for him. He has been on it for a couple months now and seems to be happy with it so I think we will continue with Mint SIM when it expires. It's easy to order online with Best Buy and pick up in store.

So far I'm very happy with the service.I haven;t had any issue and it offers great deal based on the price. I guess we will see how responsive customer support is, since they don't have retail offices.
