I've been a huge Linkin Park fan since they first started and im not gonna lie that this album threw me off a little. Yes it doesnt sound like their previous albums but that's b/c they wanted to go in a new direction and reinvent their sound which they did and I congradulate them for a job well done.
The first time u listen to the album all the way through, you think "That was ok", but the more you listen to it the better it gets and then after about 5-8 listens through you're loving it! All the songs are amazing and lyrically some of the best they have ever written. Even if you dont pick it up you at least need to hear "Given Up", "No More Sorrow", "Valentine's Day", and "Leave Out All The Rest" as those are some of the best songs off the album. By now you have heard "What I've Done" and "Bleed It Out" and those are good songs, but they dont sum up the album. Just buy it and i guarentee that you will like if not now then later!
P.S...sorry for any spelling mistakes

Minutes To Midnight

As a longtime fan of Linkin Park, I'd say that they have outdone themselves completly with their lastest album, Minutes To Midnight. Although it's not what you would expect from the band and cannot be compared to past material, putting aside what you already know the band to sound like allows you to see how greatly they've evolved. They have made so many changes in their music, the genres they explored, and even by having frontman Mike Shinoda sing on the album. But they are consistant with their relatable lyrics and never-before heard riffs. If you are a Linkin Park fan or are looking to browse for other artists, either way you should definitely buy this album.

A Great Album

In "Minutes to Midnight," Linkin Park has adapted to fit the times. In their old albums, they were all about mixing rap with metal. In this album, they're much more mainstream. A great example of this is the hit single, "What I've Done." A great song, but different from what they used to do. For the most part, it'll be disappointing to long-time fans of the group, but it's a great album for a newcomer to this band. For those oldtimers, though, there's some hope. "Hands Held High" is a reminder of songs past; the song is a little softer, but there's enough rapping in there to make any original fan happy.

Let me just say that this is a great compilation! Linkin Park took a slightly more mellow stance for this album, but each and every song is so powerful! In listening, you can tell that this music is coming straight from the heart. They poured a lot into these songs, and that is exactly what you will get as the listener. At just over 43 minutes, the album is a bit on the shorter side, but I don't think that takes anything away from it. Great music!

This album is GREAT in many ways. It has very influenced music, and doesn't feel fake... well, mostly. My biggest complaint is that In Between just isn't Mike... at all... if you want to hear him REALLY sing, then go find No Roads Left. All in all, this finally breaks free of the last albums (Reanimation being in its own category) and brings with it amazing music. After hearing all of their albums a few hundred times, this is DEFINATELY my favorite.

Amazing Album

This is the first Linkin Park album where they actually use profanity. Previously they had a genre of music that was suitable for all age groups. I think this use of adult language is excusable given the sparse use in comparison with most other popular artists of their genre. The album touches on a variety of subject matter including current event such as the war in Iraq. I haven't stopped playing this album since I bought it the day it came out.

I have been listening to linkin park for many years and i am glad that they came out with a new album. I was a big fan of hybrid theory and meteora which were both amazing albums. When i heard that they had a new album coming out i was stoked. Even though some of their songs were a lot softer compared to their older stuff it was still really good. this review is a little late but oh well

LP is never dissapointing! Yet another MUST have album to add to your collection. Just when you thought they were done; Out comes another hit with a slight twist from their previous albums which truely shows their genius! The lyrics are amazing, the combination of hard hitting fist throwing with softer relatible ballad-like songs, just makes you want to hit repeat!!!

This is definitely a CD to have in your collection! Though this is not the Linkin Park (LP) that we all remember, they do a great job putting together a CD with tracks that everyone will love! "Shadow of the Day" (#5) is just one of the most beautiful sounding songs with a very simple message. Buy this CD, you are guaranteed to like at least 3 songs!

I have been supporting LP for a long time, probably from 2002 to 2008 maybe, I was extremely exited for this album to come out, after i bought it, i didn't care about the PA thing...i figured that it was going to be PA...but after I bought it, I realized that LP changed a lot, no more artwork, ext...This album was probably good for me for about two months after it was released (i bought it the day it was released)...I'm going to leave some things out, because it could get kind of intense...but because of this album it mad me start to resist LP, and by the beginning 2009 or the end of 2008 i considered myself as a former LP fan after i realized that this may be LP new genre and new style.
if this doesn't make sense, sorry, but what i was basically saying: was that i was very excited about it, i bought it, then fell out of the Underground of LP, and soon became a one of the Former fans of LP...
