Customers enjoy the HD Pro M289 1080p DLP Mini Projector's excellent picture quality, portability, and convenient battery life, making it ideal for watching movies on the go. However, some users find the brightness insufficient in well-lit environments and the fan noise noticeable. The small size is a plus for many, but the kickstand's sturdiness is a concern for some.

I travel a lot, and I’m a gamer. I carry my PS5 with me all around the world. I wanted to have a portable screen but instead of getting a monitor I decided to get this portable projector instead. This little thing is very nice. It’s not as bright as a proper tv or monitor but if you can control the ambient lighting I think you will be happy with this purchase.

I was pretty impressed with the features of this projector. I have played videos and movies from a Windows laptop connected via HDMI and the output is clear and fairly bright on a flat smooth off-white wall. The picture does get a little washed out as the image size increases (+ distance from projector to viewing surface) but that's to be expected from a portable lower-end projector. I did not have a USB-C video cable and unfortunately was not able to test that input. When I initially connected the HDMI cable I could not get any output from the PC until I pressed what I thought was the input selector but is labeled as the eco mode selector in the guide. Regardless, pressing it toggles between USB-C and HDMI inputs. I also was only getting 720P on the projector from my laptop. I then tried a different laptop which the projector detected at 1080i. I assume the output limitation was with the HDMI port of the first laptop and not an issue with the projector. Love the fact that it has a built-in battery and with it's compact size that makes it very portable. It's rated at two hours of playtime on battery. I haven't specifically measured how long it runs on a charge but based upon my usage that rating seems reasonably accurate The vertical keystone correction is nice in that it will auto adjust based upon angle of the projector. There are no horizontal adjustments so it has to be aimed square at the playing surface so the image isn't skewed. Not a big deal as you generally have to pay a lot more to get lens shift or more advanced adjustment features. It has a manual focus dial which I didn't seem to have to mess with much as it usually seemed to be properly in focus. The built-in speakers are plenty loud and sound decent for 3 watts. Granted you're not going to get cinema quality sound but they are more than adequate. Fortunately if you want a better sound just plug in a powered speaker in to the 3.5mm output jack. I tested with a small portable speaker and it worked great. The threaded tripod mount is also a nice feature. One concern I would have would be regarding the kickstand. The unit itself has a very sturdy solid feel to it but the kickstand seems a bit flimsy in comparison. Hopefully it holds up over time.

    Incredible Portable Projector

Although this is the first portable projector I own, I have seen many used in person and this one by far produces one of the best looking images. It is super portable and is able to fit easily fit in a small bag, suitcase, or even back pocket! In my opinion, if you are in the market for a nice, portable, clear image producing projector, you should keep this one in mind. Setup is easy; the projector has a built in lens cover that also acts as its power slider. Located under the projector is a sliding mechanism where after sliding it to one side, the lens cover unveils the lens or protects them and either powers the projector on or off. Nifty feature! Located on the side are the volume buttons and the source button to switch from either USB C or HDMI. (As a note, the projector comes with a foot long HDMI cord). Rated for 100 inches, this projector does well in displaying videos at that size and displays them in a rectangular ratio. Picture quality is great; this DLP projector's blacks are dark amd colors are vivid. Since this is a 400 lumen protector, it really isn't made to handle much light although I was still able to see the images displayed when in a well lit room. As for the 3W speaker, I recommend you connect your own via the Aux port on the projector or via bluetooth from the source of where you're playing your movies. The fan gets a little loud for this projector (nothing like the larger units, this projector can seem like a light humming sound) and can drown into the audio of a movie while watching it. These two points would be the biggest caveats of this projector although this is to be expected as you are trading these for the portability and size of the projector. I have never heard of the brand Miroir before using this projector but now I can trust they make good full HD projectors. I was wowed by how clear movies are by this small projector. As mentioned before, if you are looking for a small projector to carry around and watch videos without having to plug it in, this is a very nice choice for you. Try it and you will not be disappointed!

I decided to get the Miroir HD Pro because I do a lot of traveling for work and need a portable projector for my power point presentations. I’ve been using the Miroir HD Pro for about a week now. Here are a few of observations. The actual projector itself is very sleek. The actual unit is about 7-8 inches long. It’s a very portable unit. Not large and clunky like some other projectors I’ve seen. This is perfect size for me to travel with. The set up is incredibly easy as well. I used a 2019 MacBook Pro. I plugged in a USB C into the projector and the image appeared. Super easy. I tested the battery life twice. Both times I got about 2 hours of run time on a full charge, which is what the manufacturer advertised. I was able to get the screen up to 95 inches (I did measure) and the image still looked really clear and crisp. The image in this review is the image on my bedroom wall (no screen). Still looks really good on the wall. I also wanted to mention the built in speakers. The sound quality was surprisingly good. I had volume at 70% and I was able to hear everything clear and loud. Overall, I highly recommend the Miroir HD Pro. if you’re looking to show movies at home or if you’re looking for a travel unit, check this projector out.

This portable projector is perfect for camping or outdoor parties. It is very simple to setup and use. I used my Galaxy S8+ phone via a USB-C to HDMI adapter making the whole experience 100% portable. The picture quality is amazing for such a small package. The sound is also surprisingly good. The advertised 2 hour run time is about dead on. I watched a movie just short of that and it still had 1 white charge light dot left.

BRIGHT AND SMALL – YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL REVIEW: Miroir - HD Pro M289 1080p DLP Projector - Black BEST BUY Tech Insider Network SUMMARY: I had no idea what to expect as I’ve never been that impressed with similar units that I’ve seen at various stores. I was hopeful that the increased lumens would translate into something more usable under more conditions. For the size it is very good. I tried it in a 10x10 room and it easily filled up most of the opposite wall with the image. The colors were good and the image was sharp. I do wish it had finer control over the manual focus. My big clumsy hands had a hard time finding the right sharpness for focus. At mid day with the window blinds down (not blackout) it was pretty good. Once night fell (total blackness) it was perfect. It is not going to work in a well lit room. I had hoped that I could take this on the road and use in conference rooms, but I think it will rely on dark rooms. I like that it is battery powered, but it seems to dim when not on AC power, so it sort of defeats the purpose of having a battery. Overall I like it and will use it mostly as a quick “spare” TV where needed. UNBOXING: INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: It is was very nicely packaged, and good unboxing experience. The included manuals are poorly translated and mostly useless. It labels the ports and that is about it. I had assumed it would be a discoverable device (eg WiFi) but that is not the case. It includes a Micro USB to HDMI cable but all my phones use other connectors and I did not feel like buying new cables. In my case I hooked it up to streaming stick and it worked very well. PERFORMANCE / EASE OF USE: I had some struggles getting it to work. I thought it was broken, but then I realized that the lens cover is also the on/off switch. As mentioned, my biggest struggle was the focus knob. I could never get it exactly right because it was so small and over corrected. What seems like the power button is really how you change inputs. The volume was loud enough, of course it was not high fidelity. There are options to hook up external speakers, which I did not test yet. SUMMARY: I like it, I think it will get a lot of use. Any concerns I have are very minor and certainly worth the trade off in size. I would recommend this for anyone who needs a balance between size and brightness.

Picture: I'm very impressed with the quality of the picture and the brightness from such a small projector! I can easily pack the M289 in my backpack with my laptop and the included HDMI cable and do presentations anywhere on the go. The dimmer the room the better of course but particularly in a nice dark room the 1080p resolution and the saturated colors make a real impression. There is no manual vertical keystone adjustment (though the automatic adjustment works quite well) and no horizontal keystone adjustment at all so positioning is important. Finally, my only minor disappointment is that the projector can't be mounted upside down (e.g using the tripod mount to hang it from the ceiling) unless whatever device you're projecting from can invert the picture. Sound: I was reasonably impressed with the built-in speakers. They do a very good job of filling a typical room. If you plan to play movies in a larger room or outdoors for a larger crowd, using the audio out port to add extra oomph to the sound is a good bet. Controls: The controls are simple: a focus dial, volume up and down and a button to switch inputs between the HDMI and USB-C ports. All of the controls have a nice feel, though the focus dial does require minute adjustments. Battery: The battery easily lasts the advertised 2 hours. However, if you'd like a little extra brightness or a little more time then the included power adapter is the way to go - assuming you're within reach of a power outlet. Plugged in, the picture is noticeably brighter. The powered USB port is also great for supplying convenient power to a streaming stick without adding a tangle of wires. Connections: There is a good selection of ports: Audio-out via a headphone jack, HDMI-in, USB for supplying power to a cell phone or streaming stick, USB-C-in and a power port for use with the included power supply. Build: Overall, this is a very solid little projector. The lens cover also acts as the power switch and feels like it will hold up for a very long time. The projector is well balanced around the tripod mount. I've been using a small tripod with a ball head to allow for finer adjustment than the flip-down stand on the underside of the unit. The bottom line is: for the size and price this is one impressive projector and I would recommend it without hesitation as an ultra-portable presentation machine or an outdoor movie machine when there are no power outlets in sight.

    A Great Compact HD Projector

I sometimes travel for business. But even when I am not going out of town, just up to the city for a meeting, I've found myself in a few situations where I have needed to project a PowerPoint or screen share and have been unable to (I know in today's business climate you'd think everyone would have SOMETHING you could use). So I picked up this little unit (and when I say little I mean the size of a compact external hard drive) and couldn't be happier with the performance. I've not had the need to use it to its full listed capacity of 100" across, but this unit just helped me out earlier this week when I was meeting a customer group at a co-working space that didn't have a room available with a standard projector or TV to project on. I pulled this out of my briefcase and got it set up and projecting in under 30 seconds, and it didn't require the power cord! Once the discussion was through I took a number of questions from the group about the unit. It's going to be especially useful at conferences I attend where I find a customer or prospect and want to catch up with them for a few minutes ad-hoc. I'm really glad I got it and well worth the investment. My only complaint and I've had this before with "other" items that are marketed as "portable", is that it doesn't come with a case our pouch I could put the projector, HDMI cable and power supply into. That would have really rounded things out for this unit. Not enough of an issue to reduce my rating to 4 stars. But it would have been a nice touch.

Love love love this little projector. It’s size is perfect for traveling. The battery holds up well over at least one movie when fully charged. When the battery dies you can plug it in and use it while it’s charging. The picture is super crisp and clear. Of course it’s a projector so the darker the surrounding is the better but you can still see the picture in semi dim room. The sound is good but is way better when hooked up to good quality Bluetooth speaker. I use it with Netflix Amazon video hbo max Disney plus from my phone and sometimes from a fire stick. I’ve had this for almost two years and still works like I just took it out of the box.

If you're reading this not sure whether to spend 200 less because you think its a better deal, just do yourself a favor and spend the extra few bucks. The built in speaker is amazing in comparison to the size, the battery life is great as well. The HDMI imput makes it easy to hook up an apple tv or other Streaming device. The brightness is great and the picture is clear. The screen adjusts at different angles based on where its placed. This is the first one I've ever purchased and for the price I'm pleased with the functions of it.

For the size and price, this is a very decent projector. While it is not as bright as the traditional bigger projectors, this definitely does the trick. You do have to have the room dimmed to be able to see clearly and the picture quality is great.

I agree with most people, the picture is a bit dim in higher lit rooms. In low lit rooms the picture is quite crisp, and the speaker isnt that bad as long as youre not trying to crank up the sound. Battery would last though out 90 minute movies. Utilized this for annual training, definitely helped with morale.

I wish I could return it, i was a few days off from their return policy that I didn’t notice until it was days past the cut off... ugh. I was thinking it could replace a TV that would go in my small bedroom. I don’t have enough space but the projector was perfect for throwing up a good size. I wish they advertised the decibels because this projectors fan is noisy in the small room. Very bright picture but I can see the dlp pixels and was slightly disappointed. Overall quality seems to be a great 1080p. I used my own speakers (two jbl flip 4’s) and the sound was off by a few milliseconds or enough to notice. I streamed off my MacBook through hdmi and Bluetoothed the sound. The projector was plugged in the entire time to the power source. The set up is okay, but for the price I wish I could return and just buy a nice TV that wouldn’t be noisy and have higher quality picture.
