Nice 4K upgrade for OK film

The current Mission:Impossible films are really hitting it out the park, so in some ways this one from 2000 feels a bit dated, but it really benefits from the 4K upgrade. Nice value for fans of the series.

Directed by John Woo, complete with his prerequisite white pigeons. The action in the sequel gets ramped up, including gun play during a high speed motorcycle chase. The transfer to 4K Ultra was better than MI:1 but still below what I expected.

4k audio and video are noticeably better than the standard blu ray. If you have a 4k tv and player, then the upgrade is a no brainer.

I'm not even that big of a Tom Cruise fan, but I've loved all of the Mission Impossible movies (and the Jack Reacher movies, too). HIghly recommend.

Had the DVD, decided to toss it and upgrade to 4K. Happy I did. The picture quality is much improved. No surprise there. The sound takes a step up but not as much as one would expect. The sound is Dolby Digital 5.1 but the dimensionality just is not there. The sound is all on the front speakers. Viewed using a Panasonic DB-UB9000 which as a feature that supposedly converts 5.1 to 7.1. Well, it did nothing in this case. Video 5/5 Audio 3/5.

This 2160p/Dolby Vision presentation that's a thing of beauty. Much like the first film's UHD, there are some softer focus shots here and there, but they're interspersed amongst some impressively rendered close-ups. The Dolby Vision color palette is terrific, too. The level of refinement, natural intensity, increase in white brilliance, and add to black depth are all first-class. The image finds heightened color clarity and punch, never betraying the film's core color construction but only adding a level of realism to the presentation. no new extras are included, the carryover supplements are fine

Movie Ticket included!

M:I 2 is probably the worst of the series but Best Buy included the movie ticket (Up to $8) to go see M:I: Rogue Nation and that was worth the cost. If I am going to see the new movie anyway, I might as well spend the money and get two movies. The quality of the product is good and I would recommend it to someone looking for a needlessly overdone action movie with a weak storyline. Worth it with the movie ticket!

The movie was exciting and action packed. Some of the themes from the original Mission Impossible TV show were carried over to this film. Tom Cruise is a great actor and was excellent in this film. Lots of technology. The plot was interesting and high tech. The only unbelievable thing was one man (Cruise) taking on all of the bad guys mostly by himself.

I'm not a huge fan of Tom Cruise but the MI series sans the first one (they needlessly destroyed the character of Jim Phelps and that's why Peter Graves declined to play his well known character.) have been pretty good. This second one and every one thereafter have been getting better and better. Its worth a buy in my opinion.

Luther may be the only continuity in the sequel, but it's such a blast from start to finish. The 4K transfer is exactly what fans needed - I don't remember it looking anywhere near as vibrant as it does here. The lossless audio is also leaps and bounds of an improvement.

Yet another mission impossible that proves that Tom Cruise will do his own stunts to make a movie, no matter how dangerous or crazy! But that's what makes the movie great. I love the action, the drama, and the special features. Great on DVD, better on blu- ray

A stylish action piece with a breathless pace, this second entry in the series is, unfortunately, the weakest, but still levels above much of the competition. Flashy and fun, this one will have you racing to finish out the rest of the series.

While this is probably more of a 3.5 instead of a 4, it's hard for me to call a Mission movie "average." So glad to see these movies in 4k, they are all a blast. Paramount did a FANTASTIC job converting them!

I bought this after reading multiple reviews that lavished praise on the audio and video quality. After watching the movie, I found myself asking "Did I miss something? That looked terrible!"
Detail and clarity were amazing at times, but the image is wildly inconsistent with numerous scenes being distractingly BLURRY. I suspect a great deal of my perception is the result of the original photography that was used for the transfer, and no amount of restoration is going to fix that. Sadly, the increased 4K resolution only exacerbates the deficiencies, and this doesn't make for a watchable viewing experience.
Audio was average IMO. Paramount opted not to create a new Atmos or DTS X track for this release and instead used the older TrueHD 5.1 mix.
Also, this movie didn't age well *at all*. It is, however, an interesting time capsule look at what Hollywood considered a summer action blockbuster in at the turn of the millennium.
All in all, you'll get along just fine with the regular HD Blu-ray release. Buy this only if you're a fan of the film, don't already own a copy on regular Blu-ray, and can get it on sale.

Mission: Impossible 2 has received the Paramount 4K treatment, and boy does it benefit from such an upgrade! The color pallet for the 4K HDR is amazing, but I wished there was a remixed audio track. Even so, 5.1 does a fine job displaying this epicness.

If you do t know Tom Cruise or his movies, this is a great franchise to start with. My favorite being 3 but after fallout came out I think that one is the best. This one is in my opinion one of the weakest ones, still entertaining but not as good
