First; On the technical side; The A/V quality of the set is excellent. The sound is solid, the color and images are sharp. The bad part is that this --like all large DVD collections these days--is packed into one of those bulky, blockey 'cake' boxes that stacks multiple discs on short spindle 'pages'. The discs can and do easily pop off spindle and I curse this packaging every time I open the box, and swear like a longshoreman when I go to put it away. What ever happened to the time when DVD releases were planned for the ENJOYMENT of the buyer? You used to get an Episode Guide insert, and the discs were arranged with the idea that they would be safe and secure stored in the box, not prone to popping off and rattling around...and you could access the disc you wanted without digging for it. Now, it`s all about How Much Can the Manufacturer Save on Production Costs. The layered page Cake Box format is as cheap as they can go short of just selling you loose discs. They Just Don`t Care about your ease-of-use. ....sigh. Now; as to the series itself..... I realize that today, if you say 'Mission Impossible' to most, they envision Tom Cruise, period. How sad is that? Seriously. The Original IMF (Impossible Missions Force) engaged in movie-level espionage adventures--on the small screen--that are still as enthralling today as they were in the late 60`s. Sure, the tech is dated, but the writing is sharp and when the Target Of The Week--be it a despot, a terrorist, or a mobster--sees their world crumbling around them and knows that they have been set-up to go down, while that mysterious crew climbs into a nondescript car or van and drives off.... Well, you`ll find yourself wishing there really was an 'Impossible Missions Force' out there. Good Stuff!
