This was one of the movies that we had in our collection that we really wanted to buy in blu-ray, as we continue to update/upgrade our movie collection. It tells the story of the FBI sending two agents to investigate the disappearance of a group of civil rights activists, who go missing in a small town in Mississippi in 1969. It is based on actual events and is as current in today's racist South, as it was back in the 60's.

A timeless and masterful movie, that depicts the racial tensions and violence that permeated our country, during the struggle for “Civil Rights” in America.

Hard to believe this was happening 100 years after the Civil War. However, the war just freed the slaves; it did not make them human. Of course, perhaps the people who treated them that way, both before and after the war, weren't human. Sometimes it takes something not in the book to bring people to justice.

Best movie about race relations in the south. The FBI investigation of the 3 murdered activists in 1964 is poignantly portrayed by great actors.

I enjoyed the movie (based on true events) Gene Hackman & cast were great. The only let down was it is not closed captioned and I'm hard of hearing.

Gene Hackman delivers in one of his best performances (outside of Popeye Doyle ala French Connection)! Hackman is great when he's angry, however equally great at showing a sensitive side.

A great movie about race relations in the 1960s and Gene Hackman is great, along with Willem Dafoe. One of the best films I've ever seen.
