Having played baseball video games for the last 15 years I think I can say that this is the most realistic baseball sim ever. The physics of baseball are very difficult to get right in a video game, but this one does it very well. HIGHLY recommended. And of course you can play 2 player games DoDaDa, it was in the demo so it was just a misprint.

This is my 3rd year playing The Show. Unlike the past 2 years, they claim they made this game more realistic. Is it more realistic looking? Yes. Is gameplay more realistic? Absolutely not. Hitting has been a challenge. While I've played on higher levels in past years, I find myself back in Veteran mode. My biggest complaint is why make each difficulty level more difficult when they added the Legend mode? This just doesn't make sense. I've had to use the sliders to make the game easier, but this doesn't work at all either. I can have a 10 run lead and blow it in the 9th. Some games I can't even get arrested, nevermind get a hit! The throwing errors are ridiculous. This game seems to have a minimum of 1 error per game. I wish the makers of The Show will go back and correct their errors, which is to go back and keep the difficulty levels the same as the past year's releases, with the exception of making the game more difficult in Legend mode. I love baseball and I love The Show, but I'm afraid that I'm going to have to hang this one up and try 2K9.

overall this game is great the only thing that stinks is there is no home run derby and i thought that you could to prices in franchise mode like transportation seating prices you cant do that otherwise the game is great

I thought last years game looked good, but this one takes the prize. sharpwer graphics and better game play make this game more of a reason to invest in a ps3 if you want to play baseball this year.

this game is amazing. the players movements are the exact way they are in real life.... the only thing is that there isnt a homerun derby so if u like those then ull be dissapointed

If you've read the other harsh reviews for this game, you've got my opinion of it as well. One thing the others have left off, however, is the snide and insulting vocal work done by the baseball "commentators." As you struggle to master even the most basic parts of hitting, fielding, defense, base-running, and especially the "Wild One" pitching control, you will also be rigorously and ruthlessly berated by the two sports commentators who narrate the game. D E P R E S S I N G! After a few games getting dressed down by these two, you will both hate the computer game, and quite possibly, the real game.

BEWARE!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS GAME UNLESS YOU WANT TO PLAY WITH THE YANKKEES, BO SOX, CHI SOX OR ANGELS!!!! I played this game with the Twins, Brewers, Marlins, Reds and Mets and you can't win. The pitchers, who are good pitchers in real life, get SMOKED every time they pitch. As soon as you play with a major market team you'll own all the teams you play. The graphics are outstanding, the play is easy to figure out but you can't win with small teams.

The only thing I have to add is that you can adjust difficulty components individually.

The Show of last year, 08', has the capability of 2 players so you can go head to head at home. According to the description of the 09' version it only allows 1 player...? Maybe this is incorrect info....at least, I sure hope it is. I'd love to get this if it does allow 2 players.

The hitting is horrible, I got a fastb all down the middle with ryan howard hit it on the screws and he pops it up to first, and this is on rookie mode!!!
