I have owned all the MLB games for the PSP and this one by far is the most difficult. When starting Road to the Show, your player is so slow and weak that you can barely get the ball out of the infield. Your player pops out too much and also hits into too many double plays strictly because you are so slow. Since I am an outfielder, I am too slow to also run down fly balls in the gap even though the computer gets to them with the greatest of ease. The way you earn/lose points is more in depth. You lose greater points for not hitting your goals. You lose more for hitting into double plays. Since you cannot hit your goals in most games, you gain nothing from game to game. This causes your ability to go down. Ability goes down, your playing time goes down too. The new baserunning system is a joke. Using the analog stick to do all the running is hard. You have to hold the direction of the analog stick the entire time you run. Even if you are 1 foot away from the base, if you let up on the analog stick, you will stop. If you hold it for too long, you will overrun the base. This game is very difficult and you will find yourself being very frustrated with it right away. MLB 07 is much better, gameplay wise, than MLB 09.

Best baseball game ever! this way better than '08, because in this game, you can play as legends! for example, Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, Honus Wagner, and Ryne Sandberg. and if you go to roster control at the main menu. switch any guy on your team with anybody from another team and that team won't even care. P.S. the legends are on the free agent pool. But as an example, i got rid of Aramis Ramierez for A Rod, and Derek Lee for Ryan Howard. Anything is possible in this game. MLB '09 The Show man!

love the game, best game on the market!!! wish i had a ps 3 ta play this masterpiece!!!!! 1 thing though if you own last years game its basically the same game, just with updated rosters and minor features. baserunning isn't as hard as the post written above, you don't have ta hold it the whole way you just have to highlight the runner ya wanna move and then hit the corresponding base you want hime ta go to, takes some practice but once ya get it, ya got it. all in all those are minor complaints, definally worth your purchase if ya love baseball games and realism. one of my favorite things about this game is how real the scores can be and the amount of hrs, if i hit one hr a game that shows me alot, ive had some 2-3 hr games, but they are earned when ya get em, no homerun fest with this game.

Great Game for a boy that's into baseball from 10 - 22! My 10 year son would play it everyday if I allowed him to. It's challenging enough to keep him interested and stay focused to want to win. Don't hesitate, this is a total home run!
