Let me start like so many others by saying I am a huge fan of most things Gundam. Let me also say unlike most others that this includes the U.C. 0079(one year war) ,and the rest of the U.C. related shows. See I'm not a pre-teen/teen ,and because of thatI'm am not like a lot of the people who say they like Gundam then say Seed is the best(don't call yourself a Gundam fan then say Seed was the best). Seed is an awful show full of whiny nobodies ,and they should strike it from the records of everything Gundam. Which is where 00 falls in I can stand the show/movie(mostly because the whining is not as bad as Seed) ,but it puts to much stock in what some would call hippie junk. Yes war is bad ,but stuff happens. The movie gets really preachy about understanding one another to the point where you want to gag. Having said that I still managed to enjoy the film.

Interesting... if a bit odd.

If you liked Gundam 00 for it's story, then you might get into this. It's an interesting take on the Gundam series. It's the first time that extra-terrestrial life has made an appearance in Gundam, and I am not 100% sure that it should ever be repeated. I completely get what the director was trying to accomplish, but I don't think it belonged in a Gundam series/movie. It felt like a ripoff of Macross/Robotech. Honestly, it was a very anti-climactic movie that didn't truly add anything to the series. Also, the 00-Quadra Gundam wasn't near as awesome as the 00-Raiser from the tv series.
