I purchased this antenna after reading a lot of reviews praising that it does a fantastic job. I get some of our local channels (42 out of the 52 listed on Mohu's website that it advertises) but when it rains, we lose about 15 channels. I have tried moving the antenna around the room to see if I would get better reception but it would get progressively worse. I'm considering getting a longer coaxial cable to have it sit on my window which may improve the situation. I live within the 30 mile range of all the local broadcasters so it's definitely not because I live too far away.
I'm sure that this would be great for me in a more ideal situation but since it's not an amplified antenna, I'm out of luck for now. It's a great quality product and easy to set up so don't let my experience deter you from this product. On a sunny and ideal day, 36 of the 42 channels I do get are of great quality. Paired with my Roku 3, I was able to cut the cable with huge savings.

Easy installation. Anyone paying for local news and weather should ditch the cable and get this , all local channels , and a bunch of other free channels in Hd. I switched to this when the cable demanded me to put a set top box even for FTA channels

I had purchased another antennae previously (different brand) and we only got a few channels. The ones that actually came in were fuzzy if you walked near the antennae or anywhere in its vincinity really. I had researched the Mohu antennae and decided if it wasn't better we'd just return it - we had nothing to lose really. We got it home and installed it behind our tv (we live on a 2nd floor apartment with people above and below us and behind us). The wall was an interior wall and honestly didn't pick up too many channels. We moved it to the wall next to the tv (an exterior wall) but put it down low so it was not as visible - this worked like a charm! We get several channels (all the major networks) and they come in as clear as cable! No worrying about upsetting the antennae by walking near it - it's clear all the time! I'm so glad we gave it a shot!

The product is pretty much well made and allows me to receive some local channels. I can't say if it's better or worse than any other passive antennas, but it seems to be well made. Also, I noticed that when I hold it level with a window, I sometimes get interference, but when I lower it down to the floor, reception quality instantly improves and becomes perfect (I live on the fourth floor, but it really doesn't explain why reception is better through the wall than through the window).

Old antennae did not get all desired channels in living room and required frequent position changes. Reception with multidirectional leaf is major upgrade no longer requiring position changes to improve reception. Product design is versatile and can be positioned nearly anywhere with having to worry about junking up the living room. When I opened the box I was surprised to find no power cord and nothing but a coaxial cable some hangers and a thin plastic spatula that is the antennae. Wow less wires and better reception, huh. Leaf is currently tacked to back of entertainment center and out of site still getting better reception than old antennae. Only reason I did not rate this a 5, is because I am still unable to get a 1 major broadcast channel in the living room, that has a tower less than 10 miles from my home. I am able to get the channel in room directly above the living room, I guess I will have to look for an alternate location for the antennae if I find it to be that important for me to get the 1 channel I'm missing in the living room. Definitely would recommend this product vs. Others in the same price range. I'm currently using the old ugly rabbit ear style antennae in my bedroom window, because one of the antennae snapped and is currently being held together with electrical tape. It works but i need to make sure not to trip over the wires each time I go in the closet. I'm sure i'll trip and break it soon enough and won't hesitate to go out buy another leaf.

This antenna was super simple to set up and it picked up 40 channels! For the price, I couldn't pass it up! The design is unlike any that I have ever seen and it sticks right on my wall behind my TV so you don't even notice it!
p.s. I am using it on a Vizio Smart HDTV in a second floor bedroom.

When I went to purchase this item I wanted to get the next level up antenna (50 mille range) the store did not have it in stock. I got the 30 mile (for half the price ) to see how will it would work. Setup took less then 5 minutes and to my happy surprise I received almost twice as many stations I had previously got on the TV. Including the major network I have never been able to receive . All for a third of the cost of one month of cable.

I can really say with certainty that the Mohu Leaf is a great buy! I originally tried another HD antenna that was more expensive and I ended up getting better signal quality and more channels with the Leaf than I did with the other model. This product is well worth every penny! If you are looking to cut the cable cord like we were and get 100% free HD local channels, this is the perfect antenna for you! I highly recommend this product.

Second purchase of the Mohu Leaf 30. Two more TVs in the house are now connected and two more cable boxes are on their way back to the cable company at a savings of $10 per box. It won't be long before the savings covers the cost of the antennas. I do enjoy the benefits of cable TV and the ability to go back and watch a show I missed using the "On Demand" feature, however, for places at home that are good enough with only broadcast TV (the garage), the Mohu Leaf 30 works. Setup was easy and the newer TVs have the digital tuner required to decipher the signal while the Mohu Leaf receives the signal. Older TVs will need the digital tuner box. Satisfied with my purchase. Highly recommend.

Did some homework and decided to buy mohu leaf 30 for my apartment. Hook it up to my hd tv and got around 21 channels or more but happy with what i got despite this is good for a 30 mile radius. I live on the side of my apartment where we received good signal. I like the fact that it brings hd channel and impress with how it looks on my tv. I also like the fact that its power on by the cable that just connects to the antenna. Installation is simple and easy. I place mine high up on the wall and not too far from a window. Even though i haven't try placing it on the window and see if i get more channels but will try later. Overall, im happy with the essential channels I got, it beats paying for cable every month and now and days people don't even have time to watch tv.

This worked well inside my room that has the TV. a few channels would fade from time to time. I replaced the cable with a longer one and ran it to a window that faced the towers in my area. The programs come thru very clear, better then the HD ones on my Direct TV service (which is cancelled).

Decent indoor HDTV antenna

The Mohu Leaf 30 is a decent indoor antenna; required mounting 2 feet above the television (about 2' away from nearest window) in order to pull in most nearby stations (within 5 miles). Stations over 10 miles away weren't pulled in, with one exception (about 15 miles away). Picture and sound impressive on a 10 year old Samsung 600 series HDTV.

It's very thin, it's compact and has a couple of different mounting options. You can make it disappear in a room. And, for what it is, it works quite well. I just couldn't give it 5 stars because it isn't as sensitive as other (mostly larger) antennae. So one or two stations in our metro area don't always come in quite as good as I would like.

Better Than Expected Considering Apartment Layout

The Mohu Leaf 30 works better than expected considering the layout of the apartment. The Mohu antenna is at least 25 feet from window and there is a kitchen and metal barn doors between the window and Mohu antenna. It was easy to attach and set-up. The only downside - we can receive all available stations EXCEPT ABC.

The Mohu-Leaf 30 Indoor HDTV antenna performed quite well. The price was in the middle range of the indoor antennas available at Best Buy. Connecting to the TV was so easy and the included cable made placement in a window no problem. Picture quality was outstanding.

Non-Directional? Yea Right!

In my town, we only have 3 TV Stations nearby.
2, 10-1, 10-2, 38
Channel 10 is 2 miles away from me.
Channel 2 is 15 miles away from me.
Channel 38 is also 2 miles away.
Channel 10 cuts in and out way too much. If I move the antenna and point it to the west, the signal gets better. But that would mean it is directional, wouldn't it? Where I want to mount it (behind the wall mounted TV), it doesn't work that well.
Where I do not want to put it (in a window with the cable out in the open) it works great.
I have a couple ideas to try to see if it helps, but I don't think this is that great of an item.
But then again, we only have these few stations. If you live somewhere where there are a lot more available, then I think you would get much better results.

This is a great antenna if you live in the suburbs or city and you don't watch a lot of channels. Personally, I don't have a lot of time to watch TV at home because of the kind of work that I do and when I watch TV, I usually watch the news channels like CBS, NBC, etc all of which are HD quality. This antenna is perfect for that. I've had no reception problems whatsoever in Middlesex county, NJ. I get around 50 channels when the antenna is placed indoors behind my TV.When I feel like watching movies or TV shows, I usually stream them on Netflix, vudu or amazon prime. The combination of this 30$ antenna and subscription to these streaming sites ( which comes to around 30$/ month) , you end up saving a ton of money on cable bills. Go to http://www.tvfool.com to check the reception in your area and then buy an antenna which meets your needs. This antenna is perfect for me!

I purchased this product two weeks ago and it works quite well. Clear picture just like cable tv. I coupled this product with an internet TV streaming box, and between the two of them, I am going to eliminate my cable bill and put ~$250/month BACK into my pocket. Product is slim, appears durable, works great, and does not take up a lot of space. I would definitely recommend! Oh, also the price is very reasonable for such a quality product. #VerySatisfied

I have not had experience with any other antenna so I can't give a comparison to others but this works for what I need. We recently cut ties with cable and still wanted local channels so purchased two Mohu 30 antennas. We do receive all local channels and reception is good. There are times the picture is not great, but overall reception is fine. I spoke with the sales rep who said the Mohu 30 would be enough and the Mohu 50 would not be needed living in town.
Overall, this does exactly what I need it to do. It is easy to hook up and very small/thin so can be put almost anywhere.
If needed, I would buy another Mohu.
