This unit worked to get local channels after I stopped my cable box in a spare room. Plus why pay more in a room that only has usage for an hour or two in the early morning.

I havent found a spot that I can get all channels and leave the unit in that spot. I get these channels when over here but if I want those channels I have to move it over there which sucks. Had it taped to a window and it didnt work good. Now i have it on french doors I have to have half way open to get signal. Should have tried rabbit ears but im stuck with this since I didn't return it in time.

Hi there! We appreciate your feedback and are very sorry you have not had a good experience with our Mohu Leaf 50 antenna. There are many factors that could be causing interference with the TV signals, such as other electronics in your living space or heavy foliage in the area. We always recommend you place the antenna as high as possible, as trees and buildings can block some TV signals. You may want to scan for channels without the included amplifier if you have not already done so to see if that may help. Sometimes over-amplification can occur if you are using an amp too close to the broadcast towers. If you would like more assistance on ways to improve your reception, just give us a call at 877-825-5572. We are available 7 days a week to help. Thank you for your business! Mohu

First let me say that I refuse to pay those high cable prices and internet modem and router prices. That being said, I did away with the cable that increased in price every year and bought my own modem, router, antenna and digital box. I am not much of a tv person and when I do watch tv, I usually watch Netflix or Prime. My father recently moved in with me and he watches tv from dusk to dawn. He sits there constantly moving the antenna around only to make the picture worse. It was either subscribe to cable or get a better antenna. I purchased this antenna based off of the reviews and price. Immediately after purchasing, I watched a show on tv about how online reviews are mostly bogus. I was concerned and was afraid that it was going to have to go back in the box and back to Best Buy and that I would have to be calling my local cable company and give them all of my money. I got it home, installation was easy, and had it search for channels in my area. It found 36 channels of which only 1 or 2 get the pixelated picture. The picture is more crisp and clear than before and we now have local channels we did not have before. I am not one to tout a product as most do not meet my expectations although this one is a great buy. I am very happy with the picture and amount of channels and I can hide it out of the way to where you do not know it's there. I believe most, depending on where they are, will not be disappointed with this product. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is this is day 1 with the antenna. I will update at a later date.

Having challenges getting local channels, particularly, channel 13 WJZ TV. Smh (shaking my head). Realizing these kind of antennas does not appear to work good with Smart TV's. Only channel I can access is NBC. I can sure use some technical assistance.

The Mohu is one of the top rated antennas on the market and for good reason. The installation is super easy and the signal is powerful. I am receiving 37 Over The Air stations. Another good reason to buy the Mohu is that it is manufactured in the USA by an American company in Raleigh, NC. The signal I am getting is strong and contains all the digital information about the current channel I have selected. To access this, simply press the info or detail button on your remote and a box of information will appear on the screen. The free digital reception OTA (over the air) looks much better than what is received via cable or satellite. One of the reasons for this is that the OTA signal is not compressed or degraded like cable or satellite. And you receive High Definition wherever it is available. In 2005 the Federal Government mandated that all television broadcast companies would have to cease broadcasting analog signals and switch to digital broadcasting by June 12, 2009. The cable companies and the satellite companies jumped on this and convinced many of their customers that they would need to upgrade their service. This was misleading smoke and mirrors since one of the conditions of the federal mandate was that HD and Digital TV would be made available and free to everyone receiving Over the Air signals. So for less than the cost of one month of subscriber TV you can purchase an antenna that will give you digital broadcast TV. Pretty much everything else is available via streaming, including HBO and Showtime and for a fraction of the cost. Go MOHU and pull the plug on the cable or satellite company, buy a streaming device like a Roku, Apple TV or Smart TV and save a bundle of money.

We had just moved north of Raleigh, NC from Cary, NC and misplaced our old RCA rabbit ears. The old antenna required constant repositioning when channels were changed, AND could not receive PBS, which we really missed. NOTE: Hardly anyone in Raleigh gets WUNC because it is in Chapel Hill and too far away for most all indoor antennas and terrain is a problem. Finally decided to do research for a better indoor antenna and this one looked pretty good. I had to try many different locations before settling on a high place on a window. Best spot, but still no PBS when manually changing channels. RESCANNED CHANNELS (this is very, very important), and PBS (almost exactly 40 miles away and VHF channel 4) and all other available local OTA channels come in looking perfect with no static or dropout.

I originally had the Clearstream 4V indoor/outdoor HD antenna and just could not get it to work well (no signal, audio and picture freezes, etc.). After some research I decided to give this product a chance and it works so much better than the big bulky Clearstream. I live right in the middle of two major cities so its hard to receive a signal in the first place, but this antenna has picked up all the local channels flawlessly with a crisp, clear HD picture. Highly recommend this product, it also has a website you can visit to check your broadcast signal for your zip code before you buy it. Design is sleek and minimal as well and I would say try this antenna first before any other ones on the market.

    Works Well

The good- This antenna works very well and brings in channels from broadcast antennas that are some 25 miles away clearly. I'm in a condo building on the first floor and have the Mohu antenna placed on a transom window above the door way to my balcony. It's in a fairly recessed location but after trying different placement this area seemed best and it receives 15 channels. Some of these are channels I don't watch but 4 of them I do and that's good enough for me together with a Hulu and a Netflix streaming subscription , I can watch all the TV I want. I do miss not having a DVR to record shows but that's ok since I'm saving $130.00 a month on my cable bill. The bad- it looks like a placemat on your window It's very sensitive to placement Sometimes in bad weather there is some pixelation Overall I do recommend the Moho Leaf 50 but do your research. If one of your favorite tv stations broadcasts in VHF instead of most that are in UHF you will be out of luck with this antenna. In my area WTVD broadcasts in VHF and so I cannot pick up the local ABC .affiliate.

Compact and discrete making it perfect for the living room. Compared to the cheaper antenna being used in the guest room, the Mohu Leaf pulls in a few more channels and seems to provide a clearer picture. Like others have stated, most broadcast channels come in with HD quality. Because it blends in with the wall I was able to hang it at the highest point avoiding as many obstacles as possible; came with plenty of cable. Very happy with this purchase and especially happy about the amount of $ I'm saving by cutting cable. No more painful calls to AT&T customer service.

Bought this because I had planned to cut the cable. A digital antenna paired with $25/month Sling TV was my plan and all I need. Set up was easy. Only picked up a few channels to begin with when I placed it on the wall above the TV but after moving it next to a window I picked up something like 15 or more. Although a lot appeared to not be digital channels, I was very impressed with the few I was most concerned about picking up. Crystal clear and I would say just as good if not better than cable. I did not test it for very long and went back to using cable until I was ready to test out Sling TV. In the meantime I discovered one of my local HD channels was not working on my cable box. I had a football game I wanted to watch and I figured no problem, I'll just switch to the Mohu. It was great for a short while and then the signal started getting choppy. It would keep freezing up or pixelating for a few seconds and then back to great a few minutes and back and forth. I couldn't even watch it. Then the next time I tried it was the very next week and had no problem with the picture at all but instead would get this distortion sound that would come and go. I'll be returning it tomorrow but only because when I called my cable company about the problem I was having with that one HD channel, I was also able to get about $50 knocked off my bill for the next 12 months, plus a system upgrade. So I figured I would just wait on the cable cutting idea. I really feel like my problem may have been because I live in a wooded area with trees surrounding the side of the house where I placed the antenna and probably could have solved the problem if I would have played around with the positioning more. So this review is probably a little misleading. It is definitely worth trying it out whether your lot is clear of trees or not. It is too simple to set up and then just take back for a refund if you find it does not work in your situation. When my 12 month cable reduction is up I will definitely be purchasing this again and will be sure to test it a whole lot more. I still believe it is a good product which is why I gave it four stars even though I had problems.

Been using it for awhile now, inside a bottom floor apartment, and it works for me. Have it mounted to the wall works best not directly behind the tv. It picks up the channel that I wanted plus a few more.

HDTV reception with an indoor antenna is a crapshoot, even on many local channels -- the stations are underpowered, and digital signals are unforgiving. Kudos to you if you get bunches of channels. That said, the Leaf 50 outperforms other amplified HDTV antennas I've had, is much lighter and thinner, and it can be powered off your TV's USB port, which is a plus right there if you hate wall warts. Of course, even with an antenna that's better than average, be careful where you walk in the room and beware passing cars and low-flying aircraft. I bought this OTA antenna so that I could watch football games while my cable provider settled a dispute with a local broadcasting company. The picture quality is actually superior to the picture I view with my cable box as its capable of true 1080p while most cable companies only achieve 1080i. I got this model because it came with an amplifier, which I assumed meant it would get a better reception than many of the cheaper options out there. However, living in a very populated area, close to many reception towers, I later found that the antenna would get better reception without the use of the amplifier! So I paid the extra money only to not use what I spent the extra money on. The amplifier may be worth the extra money if you live in a rural area, further away from reception towers but I have not tested this to see if that is the case. Overall I got about 30 channels through the scanner without the amplifier and about 23 with the amplifier. Some channels such as fox received noticeably better signals than NBC. Overall a solid device, but if you live in a large city I would probably recommend opting for a cheaper option than this product.

I saw that my brother bought this for his house in the black version. It picked up a lot of channels. I got tired of manipulating the bunny ear old school antenna that I had. I did some reviews prior to making this purchase. It took some patience to make it work. I had to move it around a few times before it started to pick up the channels I wanted. The design is sleek and minimal. Overall, I like it.

This antenna works great. It comes with velcro to attach it to your window or wall. We bought it to enhance our 65'' 4K Smart TV and we're very happy with it. It pulls in stations from Southern Ontario, Canada, since we're near the border. In addition to those channels, we also have about 50 locals (we get lots of UHF channels that have ''piggy back'' channels, too) that showed up when we did the first initial scan to find channels. Years ago we had a roof antenna, but after some bad weather it was inoperable. This antenna is flat and is mounted on the inside door of our sliding patio door, so even when the door is opened all the way, it doesn't interfere with the operation of the door because of its flat design. It's great! Works great, looks great, and is definitely worth the price! Plug it in, stick it on the wall or window, plug in the power source, and you've got full HD channels being broadcast directly to your TV without needing an account with the cable company. If you're on the fence about whether or not to buy an antenna, look no further, this is the one to buy.
