Ditch The Cable and Get FREE!

We needed an alternative to our ever increasing cable subscription. The answer was to try and find an inexpensive way to watch television that didn't look like rabbit ears or something that would take up half the wall! This Mohu Leaf absolutely fits the bill. About as wide and thick as a piece of paper, the antenna needs a power source to get the best pick up. Worried where could plug this in, I forgot my TV has a powered USB on the rear! Plugged it in, had the TV scan for over-the-air channels, and found over 40 local channels! What! Even HSN and QVC! I was shocked how many channels it picks up. And all crystal clear. We are about 30 miles from the broadcasting towers in our area, but it picks them all up with no issues! So ditch the expensive cable company and get you some free TV (like in the old days)!

I live in a difficult reception area and the apartment complex doesn't allow outside antennas. I do not want to pay the exorbitant price Spectrum charges for their TV package just to be able to watch the local channels. This antenna works well but one needs to move it around to find the right spot for reception.

Easy to install, performance has been as previously reviewed, good. What a buyer needs to consider is the signal strength in the immediate area. If signal strength is not good even with this antenna performance will not be satisfactory. Good rule of thumb rescan channels every once in a while to keep the picture quality and reception good.

Product easy to use and blended in nicely to my wall paint. After several adjustments I finally was able to receive the channels I wanted. Great!!! Unfortunately, I was not so lucky with my tv upstairs. The reception was terrible and unless I attached an add’l 30+ feet of cable to what was provided so it could go around the perimeter of the room, I was unable to get the channels I wanted. This antenna would be great in the right location of your house, but that can be tricky. Needless to say, both antennaes went back.

The channels it pulled in came in with excellent reception. It was mounted in a window facing south. Stations to the south up to 30 miles away came in great! However, a station that was about 20 miles away to the west would not come in at all. I didn’t think this was a directional antenna, but perhaps it is.

This antenna works great. I can pickup up around 60 channels from my house. I bought this one as a comparison, but It does a great job. It is much more reasonable than paying for cable.

We're getting good results. We don't watch much broadcast TV, and we got this primarily for the World Series and local NBA games. We can receive the channels we care about, and the quality of the reception is excellent (note that our broadcast stations locations require us to point the antenna down the length of an apartment building -- ugh. The setup process was mediocre, which may be partly due to the LG TV (the antenna doesn't directly integrate with our Apple TV). Switching to the LG interface for accessing the antenna is really ugly, so we've now bought a Tablo to allow us to do that (and also to do recordings). I highly recommend that. The Tablo is great: Quick setup, superior interface for setting up the antenna, and a great Apple TV app for finding programs and scheduling recordings)..

The product works as advertised. It was easy to set up, and I was able to get 55 OTA channels with it, including all the ones we typically watch (ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS & Fox). They actually come in much better than from our current cable provider (Spectrum). Once we install an OTA DVR we will drop our cable entirely. We also purchased/installed a MagicJack so we can eliminate our monthly phone bill as well.

So let’s talk the basics first. There’s probably $5 worth of materials in this device and maybe another $2 for the packaging. It’s way overpriced for what you get. Now let’s talk reception quality. This thing says it has a 60 mile range. I’d be willing to bet if you were standing on a hill with a clear line of site to the broadcast antenna, you could probably get a signal to connect provided that it wasn’t raining and the wind was blowing in the right direction. I’m also willing to bet your home doesn’t have a clear line of site to the broadcast antenna. My home is in your typical neighborhood where the neighbors house is about 12 feet from ours. The antennas are all about 25-30 miles away. The couple channels toward the 25 mile distance seem to come in pretty well and only get frozen pixels when the wind picks up of if someone is standing too close to the antenna. The one closer to 30 miles out requires the antenna to be strung to a window and hung from the blinds and without good weather, it’s unwatchable. I don’t think there’s a cut and dry distance that will work for everyone but I imagine if your home is within 20-25 miles, you should be safe to get decent reception (provided your home isn’t surrounded by 50’ trees or you live in a valley). 30 miles and further is going to get dicey. I’d be relatively happy with this thing if it cost about $25 but it seems overpriced and the 60 mile range statement is misleading. Don’t want to pay for cable or a way to stream your local HD channels? I’d recommend getting a powered antenna or roof mounted unit to ensure you get a decent signal.

First and foremost I purchased this not knowing if it would really work or not, but I thought I'd buy one because I really wanted to see my local news and plus watch a few football games, but boy was I in for a surprise. I went with the Moleaf antenna because it was the highest rated on the Best buy website and I also liked the fact it was smaller compared to other antennas I had looked at. Installation was really easy and once I searched for channels I found around 80+ channels ,even though some are duplicates. Overall the channels especially my local news comes in very clear in HD and the sound quality is also good. Definitely seems to pick up channels that are located further away from my area which is a plus because I'm able to even pick up a 24-hour cartoon channel which the kids included myself really enjoy because it's all old school cartoons. If you're on the fence about getting an antenna don't hesitate this is the one and you won't be disappointed. Also make sure that there's nothing interfering with the antenna such as your router or a PC. At first my channels were coming in scrambled or no signal at all but I noticed once I turned my PC off they come in perfectly without any issues as they should. Definitely worth every penny.

I purchased this for my mom. She was going cable free in several rooms of her house, but still wanted local channels. I purchased the Mohu - Leaf because of the online reviews and ratings and the number of channels it should pick up where she lives (over 40). It was super easy to install and the reception was amazing. My mom didn't even realize it wasn't a cable connection.

Great product works as described. Easy set up, pulling in so many stations in Miami area, including all major local broadcasters. Tried this product before installing an antenna in attic and am glad I did. Save myself cost, and headache of working in hot Florida attic. Cut the cord and hook this up to Tablo & Roku devices.

I’m really impressed with this Mohu HDTV antenna. Setup was quick — just plug it in, place it near a window, and scan for channels. I was able to pick up a surprising number of crystal-clear local stations, even ones I didn’t get with my previous antenna. The picture quality is excellent, and the signal has been strong and consistent. It’s lightweight, slim, and easy to place without being noticeable. For the price, the performance is outstanding. Highly recommend for anyone looking to cut the cord or improve their over-the-air reception.

This is the best indoor flat antenna I’ve ever had. It took a few tries to find the right location on my wall, but it picks up all of my local networks. It actually got me 79 free channels, including CBS. I’m in the Chicagoland area. I like the new Grey color too. It’s a little pricey but worth it.
