    Great item

This thing works GREAT for me. I have multiple portable devices including Android smartphones and Apple iPads and ipod touch. The one thing I have never liked about Apple products is the fact that they don't have ANY kind of external storage slot like a lot of Android devices do. Therefore, you can be limited on how much local media you can store. Not to mention how it can be cumbersome to transfer it anyway. This solves BOTH problems. I saw this and figured I would give it a shot. So glad I did. After installing the Monster OTG app on all my devices (as well as a better media player), I then streamed 3 different video files to 4 portable devices including a iPad, 2 Samsung Note 3s and a Nexus 7 tablet. It streamed all the different files great. Keep in mind that I used a different media player on each device and this may be what is needed to help play back files better (since other reviewer had problems). Since it functions as a card reader too, I was able to get the video files on to it easy as well. Simply copy/paste from my PC. I commute to work and use my smartphones and tablets a lot on mass transit. Having this as a battery backup as well has come in handy too. I haven't used it as a wireless access point yet, but if needed, will know I can. Also, while I haven't tried this, I think it can also possibly be used as a NAS type device. Not 100% sure about this, but basically you could share your attached media across a network when plugged into a network via its ethernet connection. Again, not totally sure about this, but would be cool if this is the case. Its advertised main functions is to work as a wireless media streamer and a battery backup and both of these have worked great for my needs. The card reader option has been a delightful bonus and the wireless AP and ethernet connectivity seem like great options too. Good product in my opinion

    A Must Have Travel Item

This item has so much going for it . Mobile hotspot-data storage-internet lan extender. The best function is when your traveling and most hotels have terrible wifi Monster OTG can be used with the in-room wired lan to create a mobile hotspot for your phone/tablet etc. I bring all my music and movies to stream to my tablet. You could bring a chromecast and connect to watch Google Play items via chromcast. Just an awesome item...I should have gotten two when on sale!

    Great Product, Even Better Price!

I currently own a 32 GB Wireless Sandisk Flash Drive which I bought onsale for $39.99. For the Same Price I got more functionality with the 32gb OTG. Setup was not too hard and I run the apps for Droid and IOS on my devices. I currently use it with 4 apple devices and 1 droid device and have no problems uploading or pulling the files from the device. I do admit i like the feature that you have a portable router or a mini Wifi repeater. One thing i really like about this device is that there are 2 memory slots and you can run 2 separate memory cards at once. So I added an additional 32GB totally my memory to 64GB. only quirk i have is that device is made out of plastic, would be nice to see one made of black glass and aluminum like an iphone.

    I Guess It's OK

The 'On-The-Go' is two things in one: a WiFi hotspot and a personal cloud storage device. It makes for a good tool to have around but do you need it?. Most hotels have WiFi now so I find it hard to imagine a scenario where the hotspot would really be needed. As a storage cloud it's not much more than a glorified card reader. It runs on a rechargeable battery so you're not going to leave it on all the time. That means you're not likely to hook it up to some big storage drive and use it as a NAS server. But it's good for swapping files between, say, your tablet and cell phone or for getting photos off your digital camera. Then again, there are so many other ways to do those things. I'm thinking this is a solution in search of a problem. My 3 Star rating is not a negative commentary on the OTG's ability to do what it's supposed to do. It does all those things well. I just question its necessity. My only actual complaint is that, if you use it at home where you already have WiFi, you have to drop that connection to connect to the OTG. Then when you finish swapping files or whatever, you have to drop that and go back to your original WiFi network. Why didn't Monster Digital include Bluetooth on this? Anyway I should mention that the app works pretty well. My tablet was able to access the OTG on the first try. For my phone I had to uninstall and re-install it but now it works fine. My Macbook Pro can access the OTG like it would with any other network device but not my Chromebook. I'll have to look into that a little more. Bottom line is that it's a good product but you don't need it.

    Good Design - Flawed Software

The software DOES NOT allow/support landscape mode, which is a HUGE deal for me because that is the reason I purchased it - to watch movies. Movies play fine but in today's world where all movies are pretty much widescreen it doesn't make sense that landscape mode is not supported. Fix this please!
