Probably the best RPG for the Wii

Like any RPG you have your character, armour, weapons, and equipment all of which can be replaced and/or upgraded as you adventure and advance in experience. There are quests, many have side quests or additional goals, to undertake. You can also free roam, slaying monsters as you desire or gathering resources to create items and potions with. However, you do need to complete the quests sooner or later if you want to advance in story of the game. The one thing I don't like about the quests is the time limit on each. They are very short. No stopping to gather things or killing too many monsters along the way or you will run out of time and fail the quest. You can repeat quests as often as needed to suceed though. The graphics are exceptionally good and the landscape is very detailed. So it seems odd that the dialog text and status menus have such small and fuzzy looking text? Yes, I have my glasses on. The monsters are really impressive with fluid realistic movements. The creators have gone all out trying to make this a real living and breathing world that your character lives in. You have day and night, weather conditions, the wind blows dust and grass around, insect life, shooting stars in the night skies and more. The monsters eat, breed, fight, and roam the land. Of course, for most RPG fans, the online play will be the main thing. I have only ventured into the online side briefly. You can link up and go on quests together with up to 3 other players. You can pick a server, create a city, and have your firends join you or go find a game that has an opening and ask to join someone elses game. New quests are supposed to be released on a regular basis. Head off an slay things with your buddies then come back and buy, selling, and upgrade your stuff back in the city. All in all this game should please any RPG fan.

First off, I love the game. I play with the wii controller and nunchuck and have had no difficulty with regards to playing the game. I have yet to use anything other than great swords, but look forward to working with each of them against the monsters. In general, I have only had difficulties with getting the camera angle to go where I want it to, but that may be more user issues than game issues. I highly recommend this for friends, especially those with wii speak for the online play. A good mix of a game between role playing and shooter games.

A Great Game

Anyone who owns a wii and laments the fact that so few hardcore game developers take it seriously should definitely pick this game up. It's a great mashup of eastern and western-style RPGs and is a lot of fun to play. For the Wii, this game looks absolutely phenomenal. I've put around 20 hours in it so far and I've barely scratched the surface of this game, so if you're worried about length then be at ease. It does have quite the steep learning curve, especially compared to most Wii games where players are pretty much babied the whole time, but once you get the hang of it it's even more fun.
On the downside, the story is fairly light. I'm a big fan of good story telling, so I'm a little disappointed, but there's enough there to be believable. The game is mostly about hunting monsters and gathering items/materials. There is a ton of stuff to gather, which leads to another slight downside. You craft all your armor and weapons from materials you find in your travels and you need a lot of materials, so you'll have to keep going back to the same places over and over to find more of the same materials you need. Still, it's such a fun game that this really isn't too much of an issue.

I am running several characters and advancing nicely. Haven't been able to find the secret paths, but that means I haven't mastered it all and am not on the highest level.
Could have more explanations one moves, tool, weapons, and armor works. Rewards and quest items. Could not get the third horn to save my life
