    I was hoping for more Chris O'Dowd on-screen but his limited appearances in the various scenarios fit perfectly, given the nature of the character he plays in the series. He's not the star of the show and wasn't meant to be. The star is David Rawle playing 12-year-old Martin Moone. Young Mr Rawle is a very likable guy, as is the character he plays. Moone Boy has a great cast, the stories are well-written and funny, but the series ended far too soon. I would love to see (many many) more episodes. I bought this DVD set solely on the fact that Chris O'Dowd co-wrote and acted in it but it turned out even better than I had hoped. A real delight from beginning to end! O'Dowd and Rawle are fantastic together and they are supported by a great cast. A thoroughly enjoyable series!
