I have a lot of Bluetooth speakers that I use frequently. Everything from cheap off-brand ones to UE Megabooms and high end Sony speakers, so I feel like I'm a pretty good judge of what makes a decent Bluetooth speaker. I also love music and listen to a lot of different genres, along with audio books quite often. With that being said, this isn't a good speaker. This speaker leaves so much to be desired. First off the build quality of this thing is shoddy at best. It's just an empty plastic lantern with a tiny speaker at the top, paired with an equally hokey looking remote control to change the color and adjust the volume. I'll break this down for you in the upcoming pros and cons list, but overall this speaker didn't impress me with anything other than it's light show, which could definitely be fun for a little while and distract you from the tinny sounding audio. Pros: Pretty lights with a few effects Carrying handle Pairing was easy enough Not waterproof, just splash proof Lightweight? Cons: Lightweight? Speaker is tiny and sound quality is not very good, distorts at louder volumes Remote control is cheap looking, but functional Build quality isn't good Depending on how this is priced would make a very big difference on my score, but you can certainly find a better value in the overly crowded Bluetooth speaker market for the amount you spend on this Mooni. Other than it's lights, there is no distinguishable reason to get this speaker. It doesn't float in water, it doesn't have a good sounding speaker and just doesn't seem durable.

If you're looking for some quiet background music while sitting around the patio table or fire pit, this may be of use. Unfortunately, the sound quality is nowhere near on-par with smaller portable speakers like the little soda-can sized Sony ones. The overall design is very light-weight and a bit lackluster. The whole thing is a very light plastic, There's a power switch and charging port on the bottom. It charges through USB, and there's.a small channel on the bottom under which you can route the cable so you can use it plugged in. Successive presses of the power switch cycle colors and modes. Also included is a credit-card sized remote that allows more control over the light and modes. My favorite is the soothing amber color. It does give off a nice soft light and is more for adding ambiance than lighting up a space. While this is a nice grown-up alternative to some of the other lighted bluetooth speakers that are out there, I just couldn't help but be disappointed by the thin, hollow sound of the built in speaker.

The Mooni Portable Speaker Lantern makes a nice addition to a room, mainly due to its aesthetics and colors. With the ability to light up with 9 different colors, the lantern adds a nice touch of color to any room. The lights have different effects such as strobe and smooth transition between colors. I experienced a few issues with the included remote where I had to press a button two or three times to get it to register with the lantern. This is a shame since the remote is required to fully utilize the lantern's features. The speaker on the lantern is not great. The sound is what you would experience wearing a pair of cheap headphones. Very little to no bass, and the sound just isn't as crisp and clear as I would have liked on a speaker for this price. Overall, the sound is decent enough for a patio or kids's room, but I don't recommend using this lantern for your speaker source for a party. Overall, the lantern has some nice features, but could have been much better.

This is a very ordinary speaker with some light effects. Sound quality is normal and lacks clarity and bass. Connecting to the speaker via Bluetooth was quite simple. Lights have different modes that can be operated via a remote. Mooni needs to work on sound quality.

What a cool portable speaker. Easily connected to my phone and tablet via Bluetooth and I love I can take it anywhere in the house or on the go. It has been great going out on the deck with the ambient light in the evening. I did also Velcro the remote to lantern so I didn’t lose it which was my only concern productwise but not enough to lose a star. I connect it back to the charger when I’m done and when I want to use it I have plenty of extra battery left when I’m done. Definitely a cool functional speaker lantern that I also plan to use for camping this summer. Can’t wait!

I love the lights on this speaker! This speaker was very easy to set up. It comes with a remote that manages the lights. The sound is good, but not great. 3 stars I would recommend to a friend.

Nice small speaker for outdoors. Grand kids love the varying colors when they visit during the evening. The plastic lantern is weatherproof. I do bring it indoors after use to charge. It is nice to sit on the patio table and have a soothing color of light and soft music to relax and enjoy a nice evening. No complaints about this speaker and light, works as promised. The on/off button is easy, connects to blue tooth from my phone easily.

I know that the mooni bluetooth speaker is not meant to be a nightlite but my daughter swears otherwise, she loves using it in the evening to listen to the music with the lights on to fall asleep. The overall sound of the speaker is very lacking there is no bass to it at all and while it can get louder than my iphone speakers. My Iphone speakers tend to sound fuller than this speaker. The build quality is very solid and the design does look nice, but overall I was very disappointed with it. I was hoping the sound quality would be much better than it was.

I was skeptical of the performance of this speaker due to the price point but I have been pleasantly surprised by both the sound and the lighting effects. It is very easy to use with the included remote control and pairing was simple with my iPhone. Once set up, my music sounded great for such a small speaker and the various light colors and effects will make this a fun addition for outside gatherings once our shelter at home ban is lifted. Looking forward to using this speaker a lot.

This item is the perfect companion to a late evening on the porch. It is lightweight and the color combinations are cool. It connects easily to your phone. The sound quality is decent but not very loud. The remote is a nice accessory and I wish you could control the lighting directly from the speaker itself. The remote comes with a battery and a spare is included.
