I really enjoyed this movie and thought it was very well made. The acting and direction is top notch. Is it best picture worthy, I don't think so, but it is one of the better films of the year. Pariah is another film that is very similar but I thought was better than this.

Being a over 65 caucasian female, I could not personally relate to the people in this movie. However, I thought it was profoundly moving and the characters so pure, I found myself watching the movie through their eyes. I experienced great empathy for the characters as though they were my friends.

I had to empathize with the struggle of these characters. It was a well done movie. Seeing how well directed it was. The film deals with issues that are very current today as well as less spoken of in the African American community. They portrayed it all very effectively.

Even though I, personally, feel that Moonlight should not have been the movie to win best picture at the Oscars, It is still a very well made movie and has a story that makes you feel for the character it's about. This is a movie that everyone needs to watch at one point. Highly recommended.

Having watched this after it won Best Picture at the Oscars, I guess I was expecting more. Still, this is a very well-written and well-acted film. It is important to tell the stories of our most marginalized citizens, and I am glad that a movie doing just that got so much attention and acclaim.

The acting is great. The story is better than great. The writing is better than brillant. I LOVED this movie. I was thrilled it won Best Picture over La La land. A big surprise. A small film that delivers in every way. I felt the emtions of the lead like it was myself going through this life.

I saw this after hearing all the acclaim and the awards were given to it. I want to be able to say I loved the movie - but I just don't get it or what all the hype is about. The acting is great! Intense and emotional in spots. Besides those moments it's mostly uneventful. There are scenes that are just sort of, " this happened to the character at some point in there life", but did it mean anything towards the plot of the film? The ending left me and my girlfriend looking at each other with a "that was it?!" look on our faces. Like I said, good acting but it just kind of went nowhere for me.

Moonlight is a well written story and directed and great performance by every actor and actress I really enjoyed this movie about a boy struggling in ruff area and is a product of his own environment and trying to survive it and also battle with figuring out who he wants to be and except it.

This movie does a good job at describing the difficult, messy world we live in with respect to the subject of focus. That said, the story moves a little slowly and feels a little disjointed at points. Worth a watch but I don't know that it's worth owning.

I wanted to see the Best Picture from the Academy Awards this year but I would not have purchased it if I had seen it before the purchase. Not a movie that I will probably look at again. It was interesting and had some good scenes but it was not great.

I see why it won the bet picture award. When I saw the trailers, I contemplated what was different about yet another coming of age film, but this film had a great level of depth and exposure that I didn't expect. I highly rcommend it to movie afficinados.

Moonlight was a beautiful film that told an unconventional story. It was well executed. The only complaint I have about this film is that the actors played the main character looked nothing alike from the different each different section of the film.

After the dramatic ending of the Academy Awards I was interested in seeing what all the hype was about. It was reading that the movie was the lowest-budgeted film to win the prize since Delbert Mann’s Marty in 1955 I knew I needed to see this movie. I was truly impressed.

I didn't know what to expect about this movie, only what I thought it was going to be. I liked how the movie developed as the boy grew up. I was hoping for him to find what he looking for. The ending left me wanting. All in all I recommend this movie.

Moonlight is one of those rare indie films that only come around every decade. I loved everything about this film...to its gorgeous cinematography, excellent cast, impeccable editing, and realistically beautiful screenplay! One of my top five films of the year. A must own!

Best movie of 2016 gets a beautiful blu-ray release filled with great A/V and engaging features. Excellent purchase if you love quality cinema. This movie will haunt you and it'll be often painful viewing this but the haunting and pain are vitamins for your growth.

Saw this and LaLaLand with my daughter -a budding actor (apparently calling her an actress would be sexist). In any event this movie was very - ahem - moving. Very powerful story, acting pulled you in and held you in the moment. Must see for anyone into Oscar worthy art.

This movie dives deep into the emotions of drama film. I didn’t know what it was about before I watched it, and I have to say that it was emotionally charged from beginning to end. Not made for children, but an overall great message of courage, pride, and love.

This was an excellent film!!! Til this day one of my favorite films. The storyline of this film is amazing, and understanding the growth of a boy to a man dealing with finding his identity.

This is an exceptional movie, easily one of the most emotional films I have ever seen. I would hope most people would give it a chance. It involves the journey of one young man and dealing his childhood and becoming comfortable with being gay. You won't be disappointed!
