This movie had a story you could follow well. If you like fiction,then I be live you will like this. It's a different take on the future,but with that said turned out to be a good movie. The color and sound was spot on. If you have Atmos then you will enjoy it more. I don't know why the critics panned this movie. It's not a block buster but I would watch it again. Well acted and the CG was great. Spot on. If you liked the hobbit then you should enjoy this movie.

I was really looking forward to seeing Emily Blunt in this flick... Surprise! That wasn't Emily Blunt... Doh! This is an incredible looking film, well put together, great effects, well acted... but I did think it suffered from a few plot flaws and some tired characters (like the superwomen) that made some elements seem quite familiar in nature and thus the major flaw for me. However, I would bump this up to 4.5 stars for the great effects alone!

It is a pretty good film. The premise is a little far fetched, but when you consider it takes place over a thousand years in the future at least, then I guess you can accept anything. Some very good moments in this films story line. Special effects are pretty impressive. However no small screen will do it justice. It is best if watched on a very large screen, the larger the better. A goof way to spend a couple of hours.

I originally saw this on HBO. My expectations were low knowing that it was not a box office hit, but with Peter Jackson's involvement and knowing about the rolling cities concept, I wanted to check it out. Let's say that it subverted a lot of my expectations. There are diverse characters and amazing special effects shots in the film. I actually loved it. So, I had to see it in 4K with HDR. And...WOW! This thing pops in HDR. If you missed this one, see it. If you have a 4K TV that supports HDR, see this in HDR.

This is reference-level picture and sound, the Atmos track is amazing. Movie is okay. Buy it for the system demo! Great Story, and wonderful effects. The lead characters were very good as well. I just found that I kept questioning the size and relationship to size of the mobile cities. Sometimes they seemed too small to be what they are suppose to be, and I couldn't imagine the power it would take to move those things as fast as they were going. Loved the flying vehicles though. Still a fun movie.

I loved this film! A different spin on the dystopian future genre - with cities on wheels! Kinda like "Howl's Moving Castle" on steroids. Peter Jackson at the helm as producer and co-screenplay writer. Based on a series of books so hopefully there will be sequels. Definitely franchise-worthy! Interesting characters and situations, spectacular effects and a bit of humor and romance. 1700 years into the future, where we are referred to as "the ancients". Worth a look! If you like this type of sci-fi, you won't be disappointed.

Mortal Engines was shot in 8k and having a 4k DI, this disc shines. Reference quality visuals. Every intricate detail, set piece and cgi effect is perfectly displayed here. Steampunk madness. Great action sequences. Plot wise the engine could use a little more oil. For 2 hours, you will enjoy but dont expect to get connected to the players of the story. Could have been better, but it could have been worst. It's a decent movie with outstanding visuals none the less. Great addition to my collection

Picture quality is absolutely Stunning. I have two Oppo Players 103 , 203 and 75inch Samsung HD TV that puts out one heck of a picture if it's on the disc. And this discs picture is clear, sharp, with stunning picture depth with clarity in those depths. Sound is Dolby Atmos and sounds great through my Dolby Atmos head phones through my XBOX X player. This is definitely MUST BUY, I can only imagine what it looks like on my 4K disc that I can not yet watch on my regular HD TV, expensive TV for its time.

The 4k and atmos is well done in this film. Moving buildings and steampunk like engines are just cool! That's why i bought it. Don't expect this to be on par with oscar-winning movies. It's entertaining and different with outstanding visuals and audio, nothing more and nothing less.

I had very low expectations going into this movie, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I don't think it will be a movie for everyone but if you are into Steampunk you may get a kick out of this movie. The story itself is nothing new but it's still fun. The world they created for this film is really interesting and the CG is top notch.

It’s a Peter Jackson film what more can I say the lord of the ring and the Hobbit Director both Great flicks with its storyline, costumes and adventure the plot was so-so but the special effect was great overall would I recommend this movie the answer is up to you cause the movie story was a little wack the special effects great

Pretty good. Great visuals. A few plot twists that I didn't see coming. Interesting premise. I felt like there should have been some deleted scenes on the disc, but no. There were some ideas they could have expanded without sacrificing the pacing. Thumbs up. B-. May be part of a series, but this film wrapped itself up pretty well on its own.

It's a shame that this movie bombed at the box office. I got it because of Peter Jackson's involvement and it didn't disappoint. Of course it's not perfect and could have used a little more time for better fleshing out the story but there's a lot of great characters and actors and action to make it worthwhile.

I missed Mortal Engines at the cinema, but the trailers were intriguing enough that I was willing to purchase a copy sight unseen. I’ll bet few will do the same, considering how poorly it did at the box office. That’s really too bad. I recommend watching Mortal Engines, then watch the bonus content, then watch the movie again. The effort undergone in designing London, and the level of detail throughout are impressive, as one should expect from Peter Jackson. Some of the acting is silly, and made me wonder if some of the budget should have been spent on bigger name actors, or perhaps just more takes so that they could polish the scenes better. This is the only reason I couldn’t give it four stars.

It's hard to describe this movie, but it was much different than I expected - in a good way. There were several stories intertwined with the main story or theme of the movie that really added to overall feel of the movie. I would certainly recommend this movie to anyone who is into the sci-fi genre. Enjoy!

When I first seen the trailer for this movie. I said to myself that it looks and sounds stupid. Boy, was I wrong. The story is interesting, full of action and the special effects are beautiful. But the story is very predictable and the acting is not the greatest for such a big budget film. Its worth a watch and I do believe I could watch it again. If you liked the trailer then you will like this movie. Don't miss it.

I liked the movie. The premise of cities consolidating in the air, land, and sea after nuclear war was interesting. London reminded me of John Carter of Mars with it roaming the lands. I even liked Shrek; he was like a Terminator in search of his prey. I'm not sure why it didn't do so well in theaters.

I had low expectations for this movie, due to all of the bad critic reviews. I agree that there is some seriously flawed logic in this steampunk world, but watching the Directory commentary, it makes some sense on the direction they chose. I am not sure where gravity went, in this world, but it is still very entertaining. Very glad to have just followed my gut and bought it instead of renting like the critics said.

If you know who Peter Jackson is, then you kind of know what to expect when you begin to watch this movie. Plot is kind if improbable, but then, doesn't that make movies fun?? Mortal Engines is pretty good, fab production, and looks great in 4k. You will need coke and popcorn for this one!!
