I have played MK ever since Super Nintendo. So I have been a huge MK fan. In the last few years I feel like the series was going downhill. They completely revamped this game. I love the story and the side quests. Visually the best MK game hands down. I will say that the gameplay will feel a little slow in the beginning. I was not used to that. Once you get the hang of it and start getting combos in, it will feel a lot faster. Still gets 5 stars in my book.

I’ve always been a MK fan, all the way back to the original arcade game. As soon as I heard they were releasing this version, I was very excited to get my pre order in. So far, I’m underwhelmed. The story and voice acting isn’t great - even though expectations are always low here. The graphics are great but nothing that shows next gen qualities. The small character line up is disappointing. The controls are pretty much the same as we're all accustomed to. This almost got a 3 star review but I haven’t put enough hours in to justify a lower rating. I have put in enough hours to justify not putting in a higher rating. I would still buy this game but would have waited for it to go on sale.

An overall fun game. Ive been playing it for hours and it feels both newcomer friendly and ive heard its also pro friendly. As a newcomer to fighting games its just been a ton of fun. The story is great, and the new invasions mode is a blast. With past fighting games i just playwd local with my brother but ive actually really been enjoying my time with this game and i think others will too

I finished the story mode like a maniac in about 7 hours. It's like watching a great long movie and fighting in between, and I did not want it to end. The writers are super talented and the graphics impeccable.

Mortal Kombat 1 on PS5 is a solid entry in the series, but it has some notable flaws that hold it back from being truly great. The gameplay mechanics are tight and fast-paced, and the Kameo system is a game-changer that elevates the combat. The story mode is a lot of fun, and the graphics are impressive on the PS5 hardware. However, the load times can be long and slow down the pace of the game, and there are also a number of bugs and glitches that can be frustrating. Overall, it's a good game, but not quite the flawless victory it could have been.

Overall good game, lots of fun on the gameplay side with your creativity, fluidity, and combos. Story is decent but plays a role in giving a nostalgic feeling. Besides that though, the game currently feels incomplete. Invasions while already going to be grindy, feels like a hassle. The level up system is a long and tedious process. There will be more functions added down the line but currently there are missing spaces and oversights needed to be touched up on. If you enjoy the game for the gameplay though, then youll have a good time now

This game is awesome. It has a Kool story mode and the fatalities are Crazy. I love how the characters has a personality and they’re not too serious like some of the other game. I highly recommend this game. You won’t be disappointed and if you are there is probably something wrong with you.

Mortal Kombat 1 features a reborn universe (aka New Era) created by the Fire God Liu Kang. Mortal Kombat returns better than ever with new and iconic franchise elements, such as a new fighting system, game modes, fatalities, and more! Overall an amazing 5 star video game!

Mortal Kombat 1 excels at being a deep but still immediately accessible fighting game that is visceral and fun to just mess around with. The mythology continues to be the main selling point with one of its greatest story modes. Sadly ugly GaaS practices feel like it’s holding back the other modes from being as engrossing and fulfilling as they could be. MK1 might be a safe sequel but it’s still a blast to play.

The turnaround time of purchasing then picking up was great. The online shopping was easy to navigate, and the in-store pick-up was a good experience thanks to the kind and professional staff.

After putting up to 70 hours in MK1, I recommend it, the story mode for this MK was a really fun one to play though, and the overall fighting is really addicting to play, and with the addition of the new invasion mode it's a great package.

Mortal Kombat continues to set the gold standard for fighting games. The latest entry offers a fluid combat system that balances accessibility for newcomers with deep technicality for veterans. The graphics are stunningly detailed, making every punch and kick feel impactful. While the gore isn't for everyone, the cinematic story mode and the variety of iconic characters like Scorpion and Sub-Zero make it a must-play for fans of the genre

My pals that I grew up with back home & I purchase every MK release to play "King of the Hill" online. As far as MK1 goes...we all love the serious upgrade to colors, graphics, gameplay. Its a thrill ride, and much is the same going back years (moves, characters, ect), however there is ALOT that is different from other releases. The most "controversial" seems to be the addition of an "Assist Fighter" which can pop in, and do a myriad of things (combo breaker, zone for a non-zoner, enhance/add to a combo). I personally like it for this release, with the thought to not get invested too much either way; as NetherRealm Studios will probably switch it up again for the next MK rendition. Another huge change is the story, which I will not add any details aside for the fact that I won't get too invested personally to "like it" or "hate it" - some folks are, and NetherRealm will absolutely shake it up on the next MK installment as they always do. Huge Fan and Supporter of this Franchise. It's one of the few that IPs these days that have made changes to story, character swaps, additions of new/younger characters, more diversity, ect without harming the lore & storytelling (imho) - Great purchase and highly recommend to any MK aficionado...TOASTY!!!

Has a hug variety of game modes and extras. Story mode is pretty fun, with a nice reset but also holding a few ties to the prior timeline. The different gear and costumes make for good replayability. It's a little too complicated with the plethora of characters and combo ability. If you run across someone who really knows what they're doing, you'll be watching yourself get combo'd to heck, 1/3 of your life bar at a time. It's difficult to learn a meta with so many characters out of the gate.

Mortal Kombat is a timeless classic and this latest iteration does not disappoint. Fun and challenging modes allow you to get lost in the game for hours. Great graphics and story modes. A must have for Mortal Kombat enthusiasts!
