While "Mortal Kombat" for the PS3 and 360 had a story that was more accesible to those who weren't already familiar with the series, Mortal Kombat X for the PS4 and Xbox One innovates in the area of gameplay. This is done through the addition of new characters with new moves, as well as quick time events. Mortal Kombat X is one of my favorite games of the current generation, and comes highly recommended.

Mortal Kombat is back and has done so in an epic way. It brings tons of old and new characters . Some have aged well Johnny Cage some not so much Kano. The game looks great from the characters to th environments. The gameplay is where this game really shines as it is deep enough for fighters masters but simple enough to where anyone can have a good time. This is a great game and the best in the series .

This is one of the best fighting games in recent time. Lots of game modes keep it fun and the visuals are better than ever. The story mode has a strong plot and cleverly fits all characters together. The only downside to this game is the DLC. A $30 season pass with 4 characters coming out just weeks from the games release doesn't sit right with me. Plus you can also pay money to unlock everything in the crypt and pay for easy fatalities. Essentially letting players pay to only press two buttons to pull one off really takes away the authenticity of fatalities.

Solid gameplay, over the top violence, with a fun campaign that acts as a great intro to each character with a good story. Highly replayable, tower modes significantly extend experience. Why not 5 stars? I am not thrilled with the trend of microtransactions, having to pay to unlock what's already on the disc you paid for is just a ridiculous trend that needs to stop. This games got quite a bit of it. Although none of it is necessary to play/ enjoy the game, all content should be included/accessible when you pay for the game. You'll be asked to pay full price at point of sale, so shouldn't you have a full game? Rant aside, this is a polished, challenging, and enjoyable MATURE game

Overall, I finished this game the first night and it's good. The graphics and story line all tie together. The new addition of characters is cool too, but it just does not seem like it's all there. Too many characters that make Mortal Kombat, MORTAL KOMBAT, is missing! So I was not too happy about that. The wardrobe change is not so flattering for the original main characters. And I do feel like the story could have been so much better and much longer to explain what was all going on in the big gap that seems to be missing in the time line.

I love mortal Kombat. I own them all from back to sega days.. This one is a blast.. I wouldn't say it's for anyone under 15.. Lots of gore.. But c'mon.. If your buying this you need to be 18 and should play it b4 giving it to a kid. Awesome game tho. The reason I add the XL? Is bc as I've owned it the ps4 changed the name from MKX to MKXL.. Not sure why

This game is awesome and the graphics are way better. It has more variety of playing in different kinds of tournaments and if you love playing online this is the game for you. It added new features, made somethings easier, and more moves for each player you fight with. Disclaimers: I am not going to add any spoilers and the extra players have to purchased.

I have been a Mortal Kombat fan since the first arcade machine appeared in a Pizza Hut in my home town . The graphics are smooth, clean, and fast. The fatalities are gruesome. My only komplaint is that it's difficult to pull off some of the brutalities and I haven't been able to find stage fatalities yet. Otherwise, another great version of the klassic.

Graphics are awesome. New characters are great and I love the new storyline(s). I just started playing this week of course so it's hard to give a full review honestly. I am a true fan of MK and so far my only negative review of this game is that there has been a lot of computerized fighting in the storyline. I would like more ability to fight myself or at least skip the scenes. Yeah sometimes it's nice to watch them fight because it's like a mini show but not when I'm anxious to get in and fight! Overall great game!

At the moment for the new generation of consoles this is the go to fighting game. No other game at the moment of this review can compare. On the other note, best Mortal Kombat game so far. The game is smooth and is very bloody good. It is packed with content with new DLC fighters adding more intense fights and the online works like a charm!

Mortal Kombat X is possibly my favorite game of 2015. Fluid kombat, easy kombos, and great fatalities. The character lineup is awesome, and couch versus is as fun as ever. The traditional multiplayer and tower battles are very polished, but the new faction war system feels like an afterthought. Great game, definite contender for GoTY.

This one brings new lift to an old favorite. I remember playing MK 1 & 2 on my Sega Genesis and how fun it was to find the combo codes for all of the finishing moves and brutalities. One of my favorites from those days isl the one where Sub Zero pulls the other guy's skull and spine out of their body still dripping with blood!

MKX is hands down the best MK game to date. And impressive roster of characters is available from the start, including many new additions to the series (some of which quickly became my favorites). The living towers, faction wars, and invasions keep the game fresh, updating on an hourly basis. Controls and crisp and responsive, and character models are incredibly detailed and colorful. The wide array of fatalities, brutalities, and faction kills are the cherry on too of this awesome fighter

If you are a fan of the Mortal Kombat Franchise, then this game is for you. The graphics are awesome and the fatalities are very creative. Only negatives are that I wish there were more to the story mode and you could play more characters such as Sindel or Baraka, who is seen during the story mode. Overall a must have game

I love this game. I am a huge fan of the Mortal Kombat series. The series was in desperate need of fresh new important faces, and this game did a great job of introducing the new generation. Even after story mode there are tons of modes you can play to unlock Koins for the improved Krypt mode that is in first person! 5/5

A solid contribution to the mortal kombat franchise. I only wish there were more classic characters. It would also had been better if the all the characters you fight were included in the game. You fight Tanya, Baraka, Rain, and Goro but they are not playable. You can get Goro by paying extra and Tanya should be paying released soon; if you are willing to pay more money for her. Having to pay extra money just to get all the characters brings my opinion of the game down.

Being an avid MK fan since its original series debut, I must say that MK has come a very long way with this recent masterpiece, MKX. I love everything about this game, especially the graphics. The controls are as simple as the original MK's game controls were. I highly recommend this game to any fighter fan.

Mortal Kombat X is a disgusting game, and thats a good thing. The fatalities, brutalities, and x-ray moves are down right brutal. Theres plenty of variety with the new addition of each character have 3 fighting styles that keeps the game fresh. I have not played online yet, but couch co-op has been a blast.
