incredible game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The MK team always ups the ante, and it's been over 25 years at this point. There are naysayers complaining about the DLC, and that there should have been a larger roster to start with in-game; I'll agree with the larger roster bit, at least as far as including classic characters, but I understand charging a premium for licensed characters. Honestly, I wish we could get Freddy back in so that we can recreate Freddy vs. Jason! Other characters I wish they would license that would fit right in: Spawn, God of War's Kratos, the classic Street Fighter cast, the Masters of the Universe characters... I could go on and on!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always loved the MK franchise and this is a great addition to the collection. Graphics are awesome and the fatalities are beyond crazy. Definitely not a kids game!

Great Continuation to a Great Series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought game for teenage son since I use to play this game at his age, he loves it. The graphics are unbelievable and they have been staying try to character with the "known" characters, yet still improving their skills to match their "personality". I would definitely recommend this game to someone who loves: Leveled Fighting, Old School Game of MK and anyone who can handle some gruesome vilonce OR is willing to shut it down, but may not experience the full rush of the finishing moves. Parents should be mindful of the vilonce and not consider this game for anyone under 14-15 yrs of age or depending on kid maturity.

Awesome Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a mortal kombat fan, and this game was not a disappointment!! I love the new fatalities. And I like the new characters, although some of the old characters I loved to play as aren't playable (why I'm giving it 4 stars). And I really enjoyed the Story mode.

Fatality to my social life
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first next-generation Mortal Kombat entry is finally in the gamersphere. I can tell you, without hesitation, that Ed Boon and company created one of the best entries in the series to date. Aside from the smooth graphics engine and the roster of familiar faces (plus a few new ones!), the primary gameplay mechanics exhibit a polish and level of quality I haven't seen in any recent fighting game. You can nitpick about the assortment of pre-order bonuses, but the reality is these are cosmetic components and don't tarnish what is a fantastic game. Now, if you'll excuse, I have some faces to cut off.

Yup! this is a fun fighting game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The mechanics are flawless and each character has unique interactions with each of the other characters. Their move sets are very different from each other.. and even the look of each character is very different from the others. (unlike the olden days when Katana and Mileena simply different colors - even the male ninjas all look different). So basically the variation in characters is a PLUS. There are enough different modes to keep you busy.. towers, online, and a story mode amongst others. I only gave it 4 (instead of 5 stars) because I don't agree with the trend games have of adding content for extra money in the future. I ESPECIALLY have a problem with fighting games locking characters for money. As consumers we should fight against such greedy injustices. Other than that, this is a pretty good game. Don't play it around young children though. It gets pretty gruesome at times.

Keeps On Getting Kooler
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alright. Do I really have to sell you on why you should LOVE this game? This is Mortal Kombat and unless you've been living under a rock, you know what this means. Its time to MOOORTAL KOOOMBAT!!! Oh, man. It only keeps on getting kooler. There's nothing out there like it. Not Street Fighter, Tekken, nor whatever. Mortal Kombat X has everything. NetherRealm has raised the bar even higher. So much I can't possibly tell you unless you like the sound of my fingers hitting the keys. Would you rather hear that or go on a date with lovely Mortal Kombat X? She'sss a kutie...and a total killer. rawr

Best MK to date

Awesome game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never got into Mortal Kombat for some reason, always was a Street fighter fan, so this was the first time trying MK since the PS1 days and what a difference!!! Game is just awesome! I mainly play with my wife and daughter and they love it! I haven't explored the other options it has, I keep it simple and choose 2 players and boom! the fun begins :) . I do find the xtra $30 for the other characters like Jason or the Predador guy a little ridiculous though.

What a fan of the series hoped for but got better!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming off of the nostalgic hype of Mortal Kombat 9, Mortal Kombat X does a sequel correctly. The story picks right off the original and expands upon it's alternate universe take. The new introduced characters are likable and have a twinge of relatable nostalgia that makes them both new and still feel familiar. The gameplay is top notch and still contains all the fun gore filled action you're used to, though with tweaks that make the game seem to flow more than the previous title. Overall, if you're a fan of MK or fighting games in general. MKX is not something to be missed!

Great game..one exception.....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome game! gameplay is awesome and graphics are beyond beautiful! I highly reccomend the game to anyone that likes the fighting genre. HOWEVER, the one exception is the promo code for the preorder (for the character GORO). I had to wait 48 hours to receive an email from Best Buy to get the code. That takes away for the anticipation for playing the character in the game from day 1. Most other places print the code right away on your reciept. I hope Best Buy changes on the way they promote their "pre-order exclusives" in the future. Other than THAT issue, the game is great.

All the good parts of MK minus the bad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Haven't purchased a mortal kombat game since the Quan chi story mode in mortal kombat deadly alliance. I felt as if they were repetitive, brought nothing new to the table except for a new number at the end of the game. They Were worth renting but never to buy. This reboot of mortal kombat has amazing detail, a beautiful story line, great online capabilities, tons of faction kills, brutalities, and fatalities. It will be hard for another fighting game to top this mortal kombat. Just think of injustice:gods among us, but with blood and gore and better moves. Hope this helps.

Better than MK9
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you thought last gen's MK game was great, this one is even better. A bunch of new characters to explore and a very visually pleasing fighting game.

Great game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this game for my husband and he finished the story mode within a few days. It's definitely a great game to play and watch. The graphics are nicely detailed. The only downside is that you have to pay if you want to use the new characters.

More than eXpexted.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was expecting just a re-hashed MK9 with new characters and moves. They did that even better. They gave more moves, more story, and more new intrigue. I just dislike the amount of DLC that has to be bought to fully enjoy the game. Hence the 4/5.
