So I've had this phone for a while. One thing I noticed from the get go is that it is slow to load google search. Sometimes it will freeze for a few seconds but that is rare. The only issue I had was trying to find my phone number in the system itself. I did eventually but find it easier to just keep in the notepad app.
Easy to use, easy to switch to my cell phone provider. I got it because of a verbal review from a co-worker. Glad I did. Hopefully it will last for a few more years.

Good product for what I paid, though it should have been thoroughly cleaned during the refurbishment process. The back cover had smudges and sticky spots.

I purchased this phone to use on the Straight Talk network. This is an excellent phone for the price. Set up was a breeze. Would recommend this phone to anyone who would like an unlocked phone for a reasonable price.

The refurbished phone was in perfect condition. Great price for getting 32GB, and a vast improvement overall from my old LG 8GB phone!

The phone has been working non-stop for a year now and just got the Oreo upgrade to 8.1. While there is a usual amount of time after a large upgrade for the phone to settle down, there is a small amount of time when the battery usage noticeably drops. Besides that, this phone is a beast without adding the frills of other phones.

Greate daily driver for my t-Mobile account

My Moto X (2015) was getting old and I needed a new daily driver. Since my carrier is t-Mobile, I limited myself to devices that support LTE band 12 and t-Mobile VoLTE.
I am liking the Moto G5 Plus very much. Like other Moto devices the UI is pretty much vanilla Android. Good reception, good audio quality.
I am not a big camera user so no comment on that.
Battery lasts close to two days on a night's charge (Moto X required daily charge).
YMMV may vary on the BestBuy refurbished items. Mine came in perfect condition. The firmware was early 2017 which makes me believe that the unit was purchased early and returned hardly used.

Decent product, horrible Geek Squad service

I just received the phones, so this is really a snapshot in time. I ordered two phones. The G5 Plus seems pretty good - decent screen, good speed, and I like the fingerprint reader feature (I've had ones before where you had to swipe). The phone themselves would have rated 4 stars. When I took the phones to the phone company to get service started, one of them was unusable, as all the SIM card contacts were raised and messed up (never seen that before, and not sure how that happens). NOT what I would have expected from a Geek Squad Certified product. So I took it to the store, where they told me I had to call the geek squad number. The rep at the end of the line was not listening. Even the geek squad member (still at the store) I handed the phone to had to keep repeating things. Ultimately, I was told the only thing they could do was return the phone and re-order. The phone did not come back in stock until the next day for $10 more for the SAME EXACT PHONE! Not sure I'm comfortable with Geek Squad Certified any more. I feel I would get the same assurances from Amazon (returning a product and getting a refund to repurchase the same thing at a higher price is hardly a warranty).

Love my G5 plus..when its not having problems!

I bought this same exact model new for $220. A couple weeks after I picked it up, I started having problems with it, to the point I had to do a factory reset on the phone. I've now had the phone for less than two months and have already had to do two factory resets on the phone because of problems. When it's not having problems, it's a great phone. Sucks I've had it too long to exchange it for a new one!

Hi NickeyC,
That's weird. We usually do some troubleshooting steps before performing a reset. If you have any questions and need help with your phone, reach out to us at forums.motorola.com. Look for the model of your device and post your concern.
