The Best Motorola Phone I've Ever Used! This is my 4th Motorola phone. I really like Motorola overall, mostly because it runs stock Android without unnecessary apps and because the Moto gestures are very handy. Yes, Motorola is terribly slow with updates and the cameras aren't as flashy as other brands like Samsung, Google, Apple, or OnePlus. But for me the pros outweigh the cons. The gestures are ingenious and you can use an SD card! I intended to buy this phone during the $399.99 sale, but my store only had an open-box option for $299.99. This ended up being a Steal of a Deal since it was in excellent condition and all that was missing was the cheap Motorola case. Usually I like that included case, but with the so-so reviews I saw, I found much better options on Amazon. I will definitely consider the open box option here at BestBuy in the future- $299.99 for a 5G phone with 256GB of internal storage, a 4,500 mAh battery, and a curved OLED screen is a steal! Here's my assessment so far, coming from using the Moto One Action previously: Pros: -The OLED screen is beautiful! The brightness level gets plenty bright and has a solid range. It's strangely satisfying swiping off the edge of the screen to go back with the one button navigation. It's fun and nifty to be able to turn the edges on and off for different apps and go between 19.5:9 and 21:9 aspect ratios. For example, turning the edges on gives you a slightly larger view when watching a video in landscape mode. And the edge touch icon can be moved anywhere on either the right or left side of the screen with the quick apps feature for up to 6 apps. -The dimensions of the phone are perfect- not too big but also not too small. I Loved the 21:9 aspect ratio of the One Action- easy to reach left to right with one hand and more room to read text vertically. This phone has almost identical dimensions as the One Action, but the screen takes up 95% of the front of the phone which gives it the premium look. -The cameras are better than I expected for being Motorola! Coming from phones that didn't have a wide angle lens for taking pictures, the ultrawide camera is heaven- I simply can't get enough of it. Photos look plenty fine to the normal eye. 10x zoom is nice. Night vision works pretty well, and surprised me with how many stars it picked out in the sky. Spot color is a fun Moto option and allows you to take black and white photos. The macro option is solid too. For video, there's a fun macro video mode! Videos are also plenty fine, though I don't take many personally. Nor do I take selfies much, but the selfie camera is unobtrusive in the corner of the screen- I prefer that over the top middle especially when I'm watching videos. Plus you can try the Google camera apk to use the fun photo sphere mode- as of today, the 7.5 version online works best (search for gcam apk for Moto edge). -The 4,500 mAh battery easily lasts a full day with a couple hours watching videos! I had to always have the battery saver turned on on my One Action to make it thru a day. -The dual speakers get plenty loud and it's nice to have sound coming from the front of the phone and not just out the bottom/side. -The on-screen fingerprint reader is usually responsive. -There's more Moto-specific tools available than on any other Motorola phone I've used, for things like customize/personalize, peek display, gestures, etc.. -Plastic back makes it less prone to break than glass and still feels premium. -Turning the phone on is SO much quicker than the One Action- loads rather quickly. -5G speeds are great! Just make sure you get a 5G-compatible SIM card. -Headphone jack and SD-card compatible Cons (there aren't many i can find): -Some cases on Amazon end up covering the curved edges of the phone. -When watching videos, dark colors sometimes tend to look fuzzy/watered down- I'm not sure if that's because the screen has a lower ppi density or what. But I only notice it with certain TV shows/movies like Criminal Minds for example. Maybe it's more of a video app issue. -The on-screen fingerprint reader can take a couple seconds to recognize. -18W fast charger isn't as fast as OnePlus or Samsung phones -Sometimes the screen gets unresponsive and freezes for a few seconds, but then it works again fine. Overall, I'm super impressed with this phone and don't anticipate looking for a new phone for at least a couple years! BestBuy has the best deals for this phone. You might as well try it out within the 14-day cell phone return period. You don't be disappointed.

Pre-purchased at a $250 discount. Only $449 instead of $699. Picked up the phone on 7/31. It seemed okay for a few days. However turns out the phone had major screen issues. Purple blotches and green tint overall began to appear after 3 or 4 days. I returned it a week later. BB was very understanding and swapped me out for a new phone immediately. Have had this new one 2 weeks and it has been great. Fast processor, super crisp OLED display, 256 GB storage and 6 GB of RAM. Love the waterfall display. Moto software is best of all Android brands. Mostly pure Android, plus chop motion for flashlight and double wrist twist for camera. Also love the active display.

I see a lot of bad reviews for this phone and while it got off to a rocky start I have had mine for 1 year and I can say it performs very well now that we are months into the Android 11 update. Moto actions are useful and almost stock android is great. Do not hesitate to buy this at sub $400. I never had any of the tint issues. Camera works well only in ample light situations, don't think you are getting Pixel quality low light shots with this. Screen and build quality is where it shines. Plus an included case which is very modern. 5G is hard to review as I live in Austin and some areas get 100mb down but some get 5mb down on TMobile. Could be Moto antennas or TMobile issue, who knows.

Overall a great for how cheap it is!! Got it when it was on sale for $349, Pros -Charges incredibly fast! -Battery life lasts pretty freaking long! -The sound is amazing! Too good, that it could be seen as a con because the phone vibrates and sounds a little mushed together if you have it at full volume. But I don't so it's fine. -The display is amazing! Cons - Prefer gallery instead of Google photos -Brightness shuts on and off at will (even when not in the sun), probably a simple fix in settings -I have Sprint, and the data doesn't want to work all the time with this phone but I've never had this issue with Samsung

So far I have only had a positive experience with this phone. There has been no issues with screen tint or broken pixels. The display is beautiful and responsive all the way to the edges. It runs everything I have thrown at it without any lag. Motorola really did well with the aesthetics of this bad boy. It is definitely costly at full price but I got lucky and found an excellent condition open box while it was on sale so for around $400 that I paid this thing is unbeatable!

This phone is very much like my previous Moto G6. The size is about 1 inch taller. I have noticed some issues after adding a glass cover. I cannot use the fingerprint option. And swiping is more a bit more difficult. I can say I would not recommend it for someone who's rough on their phone because even the case and the glass part of the screen seems like it could be exposed if you dropped it. I think it may break fairly easily if dropped multiple times. But all in all really like the phone and I'm happy I purchased it.

Bought this on a pre-order deal at a great price. I wanted a 5G phone so I wouldn't have to upgrade when 5G comes to my area. The screen is awesome, but it takes a little getting used to having the rounded "touch" edges. Camera is great - takes great pictures with the three lens system. Plenty of memory with 256G built in. A great phone at a great price!

Last year's Edge is far better than 2021 model!

Walk away from the 2021 Motorola Edge and, if you can find one, get the 2020 model with a true edge display. This Motorola Edge 5g 2020 is a very underrated device. It's lightweight and narrow with a 21 by 9 aspect ratio so it is very easy to hold and use on a daily basis. The phone shipped with Android 10 but has since been upgraded to 11 with an October 1, 2021 security update. It may or may not get Android 12. Why is the 2020 version better than the 2021 model replacing it? 1. AMOLED panel versus an LCD panel. 2. 256gb built-in storage plus microSD card support versus no expandable storage. 3. Headphone jack on the 2020 model. 4. Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos versus single, bottom firing speaker on the newer model. This model can usually be found for up to $300 less as well. Runs snappy and smooth on the Snapdragon 765 processor. Universally unlocked for any carrier. 5g on T-Mobile and it's MVNOs only. Other carriers will be 4g LTE. Call quality and speeds on Mint Mobile are outstanding. Moto features over stock Android are useful and easy to use. Cameras are decent but not outstanding. Video quality is mediocre on the main camera. Passable but nothing special. Front facing video and selfies are actually quite good. This is a lot of phone for the money and highly recommended.

I ordered a refurbished Motorola Edge 5g last week through the lease agreement with BuyOnTrust. It was delivered very quickly! I knew that I would most likely not receive the original packaging. I was disappointed however to find the only thing sent with it was a charging cord. It would have been nice if you had included the block too. The phone was everything I was looking for in a phone... until day 3 when I started noticing it was getting really hot and there was a green tint on the screen. The next morning I noticed that there were also pink a purple shadows and lines making it difficult to read anything. I was letting the phone cool and the screen would look normal for another couple hours. But the more I did that the less time it worked making the phone pretty much unusable. It would have been a great phone if not for the screen issues. I am regretting getting rid of my Samsung Galaxy S9 now.
