Great little WiFi only gym phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't like bring my real phone to the gym while I swim (theft) but still wanted a phone for my music, etc. Settled on an unlocked phone I could just connect to the gym's WiFi or my hotspot. This seemed like the best deal ($130) and pretty new (2024). Overall works great for music, YouTube videos, etc. Ended up getting a $5 Tello phone plan that is text only

I went in there some 2 months ago too, in that “shop” to buy the Motorola, was asking and asking and asking. And by the way, they all showed up, they answered every question, and they answered them in good faith. I attempted to place myself among their ranks, but, alas, they were having none of it. The next time, I wish I were able to be.

“If You Value Your Sanity, Skip This Phone”

I’ve never owned a device that drains my energy faster than it drains its own battery. A phone is supposed to make life easier, but this one feels like it’s putting me through basic training. Texting on it is a whole challenge by itself. The screen jumps around like it’s indecisive, the keys are overly sensitive, and that emoji button pops up so often I’m convinced it has a personal vendetta against me. I can be in the middle of typing something important and — blink — the whole screen disappears like it got tired of our conversation. I bought this phone because I just needed something simple to stay connected with my kids. Nothing fancy. But navigating this phone feels like solving a puzzle with missing pieces. Even getting the map to talk while driving was a struggle. At one point it wouldn’t speak at all, so I’m sitting there staring at the phone thinking, “Now how am I supposed to know where to go if you refuse to talk?” A map that refuses to give directions is basically just a picture. Between the tiny text, the sensitive buttons, the silent navigation, and the constant screen blinking, I honestly feel like I wasted my money. If you’re someone who doesn’t have time for frustration, can’t see tiny print well, or just wants a phone that works without attitude — this is not the one. Save yourself the naps, the confusion, the stress, and the unnecessary patience. I truly wish someone had told me all of this before I purchased it.
