Bought this to update my wife from Samsung S5 after AT&T (and everyone) ditched their 2 year contracts with free/subsidized phones. This is the fourth Moto G5 Plus we've purchased (we bought 2 - 64GB models and 2 - 32 GB models). The camera is great, battery life is terrific (though not replaceable) and the phone accepts microSD cards for cheap memory expansion. Snappy performance from the fingerprint scanner...my family is very pleased with our Moto G5 Plus phones and they work great with our new carrier, Cricket!

When my old cell phone started to give me the sign that it was on its way out, I began doing research on a not "too" expensive replacement. What was vitally important was that it would be easy to navigate, easy to read, and wasn't overly complicated. My Moto meets all of those criteria and more. With a flick of the wrist you can initiate the camera; easily control the sound; easily see all messages and new emails. By far, this cell phone has exceeded my expectations. Hopefully, it will last a while.

Worried about the switch to android but everything is great . It’s like having my home Windows computer in my pocket. Very satisfied with purchase. Best Buy had the “best buy”. Saved
$49 over competition

Solid phone. Love all the features it has, especially the scratch resistant glass, the camera and how fast it performs. The model I got doesn't support dual sim though, even though it says it does on the booklet included. I've read about this and apparently some models in America don't support this feature. Not a drawback for me really since I wouldn't have taken advantage of it anyway. Overall, a great buy if you're looking for a mid-priced phone with most of the features included on higher-end models.

I just couldn't bring myself to spend money on a Samsung or iPhone in September when they will probably be on sale in a few months so I bought a much cheaper Moto - thinking I might switch later. I love the phone. It is a little different set up from my Samsung but I'm very happy with it. All my apps work just fine. I'm not going to upgrade to anything else later since I'm so happy with this one. The only hard part was trying to find a standout phone cover so I don't lose the phone on the desk.

The Moto G5+ phone was easy to set-up, simply put in current sim card from existing phone and the new phone was up and running. Step by step instructions walked me through all the great features. The battery lasts forever in comparison to my old phone and the camera quality is fantastic. The quick charger included in the box is an added bonus. Fast processor is a real treat! I would recommend this phone to anyone looking for a fairly inexpensive smart phone that works on the Verizon network.

This phone does everything that I expected it to do and for about 1/4 of the price of the so-called "elite" models. Because it's unlocked, there is no bloatware/crapware on it, just pure Android. The specific Moto settings are very clever and useful i.e. twist the phone to immediately get into the camera app. The display is crystal clear and vibrant. The battery is amazing, I have been able to go thru 3 days before it needs a charge! Very happy with it so far, highly recommend it.

I've had a number of different smartphones but this is the first one I've ever bought. I paid less than $215 for the phone and find that it's worth every penny! It is by no means a cheaply made phone it takes great pictures, has ample storage and the battery life!!! I cannot say enough about the battery life which last all day(and night) easily, and I am constantly on my phone talking or on the internet
Great buy, great price

This is really a nice phone! The metal body and overall build quality is great. The screen is large and vivid. The speed is first class. Apps install quickly and every app and game I've tried so far loads quickly and runs smoothly. I still can't believe this phone cost less that $250. It's as nice or nicer in some ways than my last phone, which cost three times more. Motorola has really not touched the OS much and their additions actually enhance the user experience. I wish stock Android would adopt some of their enhancements (eg. shake for a flashlight, twist to launch camera, etc...). Camera is decent but still takes great shots in the right conditions. Speaker is nice, though I'm not a big music listener or video watcher, so can't comment on quality beyond it satisfying my casual listening needs.
Is it perfect? No. Does it have an edge-to-edge screen? No. Does it have NFC? No. (Never used my previous NFC equipped phone for purchases; don't miss not having the option with this phone.) Does it have a USB Type-C port? No (But who cares. Almost everything is done over WIFI or cellular anyway.) Does it have an industrial design that will make you instantly popular and raise your social status with friends and family? No. What it DOES HAVE is a smart design, solid hardware and reliable software. Plus, you can buy three or four of these for the price of one high end phone. You don't even need insurance. The insurance will cost more than just buying another phone. What's been surprisingly pleasant are the looks on people's faces when I tell them how much this actually costs. It's an obvious realization that can't often be masked. Why are we spending up to $1,000 for phones when something like this is available. I'll NEVER go back to having a high end phone after owning this. I'll save the hundreds and enjoy spending it on something else!

I traded my flip phone for this Motorola. I was reluctant at first as I am not tech savvy. It has been fun and easy to use. My wife enjoyed it also so I bought her one. Now we can learn together.

Hi MarkT,
Thanks for your feedback! It's a great phone to start with when this is your first Android phone as the device is a stock Android phone which makes it easier to use. I appreciate having one of our phones.

I was deciding between this and the SONY xperia l1 for my brother. The sony doesn't have the best reviews but I love how it looks. The moto is really the best option for 179.99. It has long battery use, great functions, nice HD screen. Negatives would be kinda too wide making it bulky to fit in your pocket and the camera is on the weaker side. Overall I'm not going to compare this vs an iphone 7, this will get you through your every day smart phone tasks.

Maybe this is not a top of the heap super phone, but it does everything and does it well. Truly a bargain. Phone is strong and clear, camera is pretty good, and it is fast enough for me. Day and a half average use, and you get like half a charge on twenty minutes or so. Gorilla glass. Put a rubber cover on it and it is really sturdy.

Overall a fantastic phone , better than expected battery life , very good camera , perfect size , thin enough . Good sound while on phone , good speaker phone. Only miss the dual speakers from past models . My wife and I tend to drop our phones and it doesn't make sense to buy a expensive phone . I've compared it to the latest and best and don't see much of a difference . We prefer to replace them every year and half .

Why do swimsuits have pockets? So I can jump in the pool with my phone in there clearly.
After the untimely death of my Droid Turbo 2 (which I'm still paying for), I needed a phone to cover my work duties, and I wanted something unlocked so I can break free of Verizon whenever I'm ready. Unfortunately, there are very few Verizon ready unlocked phones that come in under $600, and Motorola/Lenovo makes the bulk of them.
The Moto G5 Plus seems to do everything I need it to, which is mostly emailing, a small amount of social media, and some home automation/media control. Its clearly not a premium phone, but I'm realizing I probably don't need that; I'm not overly concerned with taking pictures (though the phone does a good job), and I'm not gaming so massive processor power isn't an issue.
The metal case is a nice touch, even if the rim is metal colored plastic, and I'm really enjoying the fingerprint sensor which I used to think was an unnecessary gimmick. The camera is decent, and I haven't had any speed issues running multiple apps. I am a little annoyed with the way they configure the memory. I have an SD card for the expandable memory slot, so I don't need the 64G model, but the 32G model only has 2G of RAM, unlike the 4G of the 64G model. The battery life is decent, and I like the fast charging, but its not quite as beefy as the 3750 maH battery in the Droid Turbo 2.
Out the door for under $250, this is a great phone, particularly because its new enough to keep getting Android updates for a while. I'm happy with its performance, though heavy users might take issue with battery and processing power.
