Customers are saying

Customers admire the Moto G Stylus for its remarkable camera quality, affordable price, and the convenience of the stylus feature. The long battery life and ample storage space are also highly appreciated. While some users have concerns about its durability, the lack of wireless charging, NFC, and a slight learning curve, these drawbacks seem to be outweighed by the phone's overall strengths.

This phone is well worth the price. It's reasonably fast and takes excellent pictures. It also has a ton of internal storage.

The good: USB-C Charging is convenient and fast, and the USB-C port works well with my FLIR IR camera attachement. Battery life is incredible honestly, best I've ever had in a smart phone. Phone is overall solid, works well. The ability to take it to basically any carrier adds excellent value in my opinion. Stylus is nothing special, but really has come in handy more than once for navigating desktop-view web pages on the phone's screen. (The screen is great, by no means too small, but my fingers are way fatter than that stylus!) Android OS' user interface is of course very 'stock' feeling and I appreciate this. Not really any silly bells and/or whistles that I don't need, while still being full featured and familiar. The bad: Not a big fan of the fact that you can't (to my knowledge, with the stock software) disable the stylus tool thing from showing completely when the stylus is out of the phone. Horribly annoying, especially if you lose the stylus and have to order another one! As with most modern phones, they're no Nokia brick. The stock 'look and feel' of the outer case feels like it'll break if I tap it too hard. Adding a case fixes this of course, but come on Motorola, could you maybe make the housing a little less slippery? To be clear, this is NOT a complaint about build quality. This is a complaint about the slipperiness of the housing, which seems to just be a theme with all phone design today. Other thoughts: Get a case that has a 'flap' that goes over the stylus hole if you are one to drop the phone a lot... it'll save the stylus from getting lost. The latching mechanism is fine, but just is sometimes not up to the task of retaining the stylus when I accidentally chuck the phone across the room.

Coming from a Galaxy Note 10, its pretty good for ⅓ of the cost. Its no Note 10, but don't come at it with that expectation. There is a little lag on the stylus, but it works quite well. I wouldn't come at it with low expectations, but as a good mid-range phone on the cheap. I do feel the fingerprint sensor should be more reliable. It would take quite a few trys sometimes to get it to work. Screen quality is quite good for an LCD, Samsung AMOLED ia definitely the gold standard, but it's great screen overall. Battery life is pretty good, I am seeing around +6 hours S.O.T. I can recommend this for pretty much anyone. For size comparison think of the Pixel XL series or the iPhone 6/7/8 +, but all screen.

Love this phone!!! My Samsung edge 9+ was starting to have issues so a new phone was in the future! I did not want to spend 700 for a new phone that might only last 2 years like the edge did. This phone was $189 and does everything the Samsung did, and has a nicer camera and the battery life is AWESOME!!!!!

I would say that this android phone is one of the best considering the price, the Memory and the 4-GB of Ram. not to mention the cameras front and rear as well as the fingerprint recognition. this phone is just right for me for everything that I need it to be. I have had it about a couple of weeks now and so far so good. if you like to stay with Motorola, I would recommend this one!!

Had to replace my Moto X Pure after so many years, in a hurry but didn't want to choose wrong. This phone is perfect! So far, I'm absolutely happy with every aspect, although I've never been a big stylus user. The camera is great, speakers sound terrific, lots of memory and beautiful display. Spending less than $500 on your next phone? This is my recommendation.

This is Seriously an Excellent Phone! Kicks iPhones butt. After being a long time iPhone user and slowly becoming disenchanted by its prices, bad iPhone updates and that whole "Purposely Kill the Battery" update pushed by Tim Cook that ruined iPhones for many and dishonored Steve Jobs, I was ready for a change. Being a long time Linux user, switching to Motorola Moto G Stylus with its Android 10 mad for a great choose. Performance, Technology, The Stylus and so many features I'm starting ok discovering. Plus it's unlocked so adding new builds like LineageOS in the future is easy, plus not being tied to any one mobile provider. All this and a great price tag, I recommend if you want all the features of an iPhone but better, and still not breaking the bank go o Moto G Stylus or one of its other powerful phones. Only So So (not negative, not positive) is it's really rooted in Google because of the Android 10 and Google Play Store, but with careful changes you can degoogle it to a level your comfortable with. Other builds don't rely on Google App Store but on others just as good if not better.

Only had this phone for a few weeks but so far has been very good. Battery life seems very and the photos I have taken have been good... Better than the Moto Z3 I was coming from. I don't really game on my phone so can't speak to that. I have used the stylus just because it's there.. no specific reason but it seems to work well. Still think the Moto actions added by Motorola are wonderful.

My S5 dying pushed me to buy the moto g stylus, but I did research the stylus first, and liked what I found. The on-board memory (128Gb) is a huge jump past what I've been used to (16Gb - less than 10 due to system requirement). The battery life is fantastic; even with a huge after market battery, the S5 barely made it through 1 day -- the stylus still has 60% left after 1 day. All in all a very good device.

I've had this phone for a month now and I've had no issue with calls, texts, or emails. The cameras are quite nice and the battery holds up to heavy use without running for a charger two or three times a day. I like the general size and feel of it. There are a few issues I do have with it that may be specific to me. The GPS does not seem to be fine tuned. It can keep up with running, but it often drops the walking parts of interval training and shows I'm not moving. The placement of the speaker is lacking, when I run the speaker is projecting towards dead space or my leg. A speaker on the side or back, or an extra one, would fix this. Yes, I know I can use Bluetooth headphones but there are safety issues with not being able to hear enough when you are street running.

I have had the G stylus for one month and this is the best Moto I have purchased (the third). I downloaded the owners manual to decode its operation, after about three weeks I had mastered most of it. As to all the Moto's before a problem has popped up, the call volume will not advance to high. Went on line and voiced my troubled and a answer came up that this was a problem before on Moto's but a upgrade had been released for the cure, in my case NO. I went on Motorola's web site and they have a app which is free that will cure the problem (?) but it will also wipe everything off the phone , all that work NO WAY. The reason I mentioned the sound problem is i my case I am 90 years old , lost the hearing in my left ear about 50 years ago and wear a hearing aid in my right ear, so I need volume. Hopefully a cure will cone up. Have a nice day, Fred

Bought on sale unactivated for $199. Was going to get the g power for $179. Did a side by side comparison. For $20 dollars more the g stylus is identical except double the memory and stylus of course. Worth it. Upgraded from a LG Stylo 2 so still getting used to maneuvering around this phone but so far so good. Had no problems setting up with Straighttalk either

Finally had to replace my beloved Moto G4 after four years (battery issues). We stick with the Motos for the value and generally competitive specs, and Best Buy has the best selection of unlocked (we very happily use TracFone). I had gotten a Moto One Action for my wife not long ago, and, while the specs, screen and camera are impressive, the battery life has been surprisingly disappointing. Having now had this Moto G Stylus for a month, I almost feel guilty about how much better my battery is, and the difference in Android 10 over 9 is not insignificant. I've never had a stylus device before, so I haven't found myself using/needing this much, but that just may be me. Also, having 128 GB of memory is SO nice!

Moved from a Moto G5 Plus that wouldn't hold a charge anymore (after 3 + years). I liked the G5 and appreciate the Moto features so stuck with Moto. Pros: The Stylus (for the $268 I paid unlocked) is a great Android phone for my needs - camera, texting, apps, email. Screen/pixels good enough for me. Screen is large. Battery lasts at least a full day (depending how you're using it). Stylus feature is nice as I'm old school and is intuitive to figure out to start using immediately. Cons: I do not like the fingerprint reader in the back as I find it awkward to get to. Wish it was NFC as well. Sound on calls could be louder as well. In closing, I see no reason in my world to pay $500 - $1K+ for a phone as I'm not "techie" enough and too old to want to figure out how to rule my world from my phone.

Great phone at a great price! The stylus is not as refined at the samsung note series but what do you expect at 1/3 the price? For what you pay for this is a excellent device for daily use. I got this for my parents which is more than capable for social media, light gaming, calls and text. Also the storage space at this price is unbeatable.

Was quick and easy to activate. The phone is fast, has a really nice camera and excellent battery life. Only had it a week so far, but have only had to charge it twice with some pretty decent use. I have been using the stylus a bit, which is smooth as well as the touch screen. It is slightly thinner than my old phone which is easier to grip, but still solid build.

I've been debating which phone to get under $300. I was going to save up for Motorola Moto Edge 5G, but people will saying the Edge display had purple blotches along the edges, a green tint on the screen, and burned screen. I could push my luck and bought the Edge, but I saw the Moto G Stylus the best value under $300. But the Moto G Stylus was sale, and got it for $200, as well as the phone being unlocked. The next best beside the Moto Edge 5G, and time I bought the Moto G Stylus, Pixel 4 was going for $399. I was cautious at first because I saw Moto as a budget phone, I wasn't expected to get good value for the phone. Another reason why got the phone, is that the phone runs Android 10.0. Android is supposed to add support for AV1, which a video codec that is the successor of VP9. It helps reduce bandwidth, but at same time keep most picture quality intact. The phone also comes with a stylus which is beneficial if you are artistic person, which I'm not. So I can't tell how good the stylus. Plus, my previous phones didn't had any stylus, so I can't the quality of stylus. -Display- My previous phone resolution was measly 1280x720P. So having the resolution of 2300x1800, with a 6.4" size. So this equates to the display being 399 pixels per (square) inch. In addition, the display is "IPS", which mean great color production (accuracy) compared to "VA" and "TN" screen. "IPS" have better contrast ratio than "TN" screen, but worse contrast ratio than a VA. -Camera- Since the phone being a budget phones, so I was expected the camera to be average. But having three different types of camera is impressive for the price. Because it gives different option depending what kind of photo the user wants to take. People have to note, the camera might not be good when taking high light and low light scenarios. But this possibly the automatic software. So maybe practicing the manual setting could overcome the phone shortfalls. -CPU/RAM/Storage- The phone is running the Snapdragon 665 CPU is an octo-core CPU at 11nm. It seems to run majority of apps. The phone also has 4GB of onboard RAM which what I seen, is enough for most daily usage. I don't see needing more RAM, unless you playing high demanding games. Or if you are a user who use multiple apps simultaneously, generally user who use different types of social media. Next great thing about the phone is the phone storage has 128GB. In addition, the phone accepts a microSDXC slot for expansion, so if you want expand storage there is an option. -Battery/Charging- The phone is non-removable, which sucks if you are unlucky, and battery goes bad. Because it will prevent you from replacing the new battery yourself. So you most likely will have to go to the store for repair. The 4000 mAh battery, is good enough for a full day usage, unless you play video games or lot of social media. Sadly, if you are expecting a phone to have wireless charging capability, then I sadly have to tell you have to look at another phone. The phone comes with a type C 15-watt charging which snapping enough, unless you buy a more premium phone. -Other Another great thing about this phone is that the phone comes with headphone jack. Which is a exciting thing to see, because the current phone trend is to remove it, and require user to either use Bluetooth headphones or a dongle.
