I bought this to make playing games on my phone easier which it seemed cool at first but knowing how little games support controllers made it less fun yet knowing it has a headphone jack (those who own the Moto Z2 Force will understand why I said that) and all the necessary buttons make it a must for intense gamers; only issue I had with it was lack of support for games and a disappointment because I intentionally thought because it wasn’t Bluetooth and was a Mod, I thought it would work with more games but sadly it doesn’t; I enjoyed how the buttons were placed and the analog sticks were actually clicked like the PS4 and Switch, the only reason why I knocked off 1 star was because at first it worked flawlessly but then the day after receiving it, the A button went out so I sadly had to take it back.

I got this to use with Steam Link to stream games to my phone. It works great for that usage, but has a few issues as others have pointed out. The dpad is stiff, and the buttons are a bit loud. The sound is really only noticeable streaming at night when my wife is trying to sleep next to me. It hasn't bothered her, I'm just aware of it. I also attach it to use for playing some touch screen games in portrait mode since it moves the charging port to the side of the phone instead of the bottom. The main hassle I have is my case is a bumper case that leaves the back open for mods. However, this mod cradles the edge of the phone so I have to take my case off. I knew that going in and have no regrets.

I really like the fact that this is not JUST a game controller, but also a battery. It's early on in the adoption of this mod so now just need more games developed for the platform.

Nice mod overall, but games have to be compatible in order to use it. Moto does offer a portal app which lists compatible games you can buy, but I wish there was more game support overall. The buttons are really loud and clickly which I dont like. The controller could be more ergonomic as the edges of the controller dont hit your palms so your pretty much hold it with just your fingertips. Zero lag on button response since this is not bluetooth, which I like. Virtual buttons are ok for some games, but faster action games are a lot better with a controller so I do like having the option. I can only recommend this if you are really into mobile gaming.

Work great with compatible games. Great with emulators too!

Bought for husband. He loves it and has been glued to it since. Makes playing games on phone much easier.

I bought this for my teenage son who plays Fortnite a lot. Now, he would rather play from his phone than his Nintendo Switch. The extra battery life is great, and the headphone jack is a huge bonus in the car or at the doctors office.

I despise playing most games with touchscreen controls. I prefer a traditional joystick combo like on the consoles I'm used to. This does that for me. Sadly not all games are supported but some great ones are. Modern Combat 5 and Final Fantasy IX are what I've tried and it works perfectly. It even has it's own battery. It charges with the same cable as the phone. Magnets hold the phone in place very well and at no time did I feel the phone was going to slide or fall off.

The Moto Mod Gamepad is a well built product for the Moto phone line. D-pad and Analog controls feel great and work smoothly. The buttons give great feedback. Overall the best controller for android in my opinion.

Absolutely the best phone gamepad I've ever tried, but it is still a bit uncomfortable and the D-Pad requires a bit more force than I'd like.

Like the concept but doesn't meet expectations. Theres a lot of play in the left thumbstick and the battery was at 100%. Why that amount of charge during its storage period before it was sold? One can only think it was used but appeared to be brand new..bottom line it was 40 bucks. 50% off sale couldn't pass it up as a gamer and tech savey individual. I believe game controllers and phones dont mix no matter what. Stick with a GAMING device if your a gamer like the Nintendo Switch.

This is a nicely constructed item, and works well with the MOTO - link all the MOTO MODS. The only issue is that not many games justify the use of the gamepad yet... I’m sure more and more will become available overtime, but as of now it’s a nice gamepad waiting for awesome games to use it with.

My son has had a difficult time putting his phone down now that he has this controller attached.

Right off the bat, going to say that the buttons are too small, close together, and too close to the joystick. The DPad is also... bad. I'm not a regular DPad snob, but this is a real case of a bad one. However, the sticks are excellent and you get used to the buttons. It's not heavy, and it's recognized by emulators such as My Boy!, Snes9x, and Drastic.
