I had the original flip phone, and it lasted for years before falling apart. At the time it was $600 which was expensive in the age of subsidized phones. I could not wait to get this new one. It was this or the Samsung Z Flip. The Moto won out because of the larger front display, and the overall design. The battery life is acceptable. The main display is responsive and fairly quick. There is no wireless charging which is a big negative with such an expensive phone, The display is oddly shaped at the top, and the chin is huge. It is not a very big display and I found the borders were in the way for one handed use. The front display was disappointing as it did not seem very responsive and scrolling wasn't good. The idea was excellent, but the execution sub par. The fingerprint sensor is at the back disguised as the Moto logo, but I found it oddly placed at the bottom portion of the phone. It was hard to use. I really wanted to like this phone as its design was unique and it definitely had a 'wow' factor. However, its functionality was not great, and especially at the price. Having a great, unique phone is awesome, but in the end, its function that is more important.

The ability to have a smart phone that fits in my pocket is so incredible and I love it. The battery life and camera quality are not as strong as they could be, but I still get a full day worth of usage, so for me it is plenty. The one problem I have had with this phone is that the front exterior screen broke and is no longer usable, which is sad considering I bought it very recently. I am not sure what caused it to break as there is no visible damage at all. Still, I spent a full day hunting for this phone when I knew it was the one I wanted and I don't regret my purchase. I do, however, hope these phones continue to become sturdier and tougher in the future.

We appreciate the feedback, Rowan. We know how disappointing it is to crack the screen. While we do not cover physical damage, you may consider getting it repaired for a fee. You can find your repair options on this link: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/mcp/service/ and they include an extensive walk-in repair network that in many cases can provide same-day service, plus mail-in and some fix-it yourself options. You will find an interactive map that allows you to find a carry-in center convenient to you. We recommend contacting the repair center to ensure they are prepared for your specific issue. - Mike MotorolaMobility

Moto Razr 5G - Great Foldable

If it's being sold at the original price it is not worth it, but the huge discount is enough to consider me adopting to foldables. It is just more compact. The Android software in this phone is almost pure without the bloatware. The phone is fast, the camera ok and the build is ok. The glass though needs to be protected with a case. Yes, it is a head turner to. Plus the retro mode brings back fond memories of the early 2000s. The battery life is just alright. I am not a heavy user. Plus the outer screen is functional but very minimalist, just what I need so I don't need to flip my phone frequently.

I have had two Samsung flip phones and I decided to purchase this one for the retro nostalgic feel. The battery was not as bad as everybody was making it out to be at least for me I am not a power user. Everything else was good the screen will end up having three large lumps in it it’s hard to get used to that the other thing that I did notice that it was hard to get used to his opening it it was extremely hard for an older person to flip it open it is so shiny and smooth that it easily flies out of your hand. I would wait till the next generation a flip phones to come out

The primary reason to purchase this phone is to be able to pop it in a pants or jacket pocket for easy carry. Otherwise, I prefer my Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus for features, build quality and ease of use. The folding screen is well-executed and seems sturdy. There is no crease or line in the screen when the phone is open, so you do get the benefit of a normal size screen that is easy to read and navigate. The front screen has limited functions but is easy to use and convenient when the phone is folded. This is a nice phone but I doubt that it will be as revolutionary or popular as the original Razr was.

For me it is worth the money spent as I very much wanted a phone this size. I HATE the chocolate bar sized phones in my pocket, so this phone is perfect for me. Is it over priced for what you get, maybe, do I really like it so far, absolutely.

I love this phone more than I thought I ever would. It took me a few weeks to really learn the ins and out of this phone but I have really fallen in love with it. The little outside screen is the best thing to ever come to this phone. I can do almost anything I need like checking messages or even watching a video without having to open the phone. Everyone that's sees me open it that isn't intrigued. It's super fast and super little. Easily slips into a pocket however I use it with a belt clip. It's got a small battery in comparison to some phones but it charges very quickly. I pop it on the charger when I jump in the car or if I get home and even for a few minutes it puts it right back up to the top. I would recommend this phone to anyone just give it a little time to get used to flipping it. I was not paid for this review by the way. I am also a huge Motorola fan and have been since the original Droid came out. I love Motorola. I've owned the Google pixels, the LG's, never a Samsung but I always come back to my Motorola's.

Very little complaints, but phone is very slippery and had to buy from Motorola the specific case for phone ( Motorola 2020 Razr) to protect and give it "Grabbing" power. Installed the protection case and now have full confidence that phone will not slip out of hand. The only gripe is that the protection case is $99.00, but still fits in the breast pocket of a shirt. Still experimenting with the phone but love it's large front screen in comparison to it's competitor.

Love this phone, it is what I expected and more. The quick display makes it feel like a small mp3 player and then at the same time a quick message reply box. Then when I need the bigger display i flip open and vuala! The inner screen looks cheap but somehow feels really good to the touch and has great picture quality. I did have to get used to the slightly awkward display ratio, it's sort of skinny long but I got used to it and now I'm ok with it. Overall it still is the best phone I've ever owned. My girlfriend has the iPhone 12 and I always have more signal than her and faster speeds even thought we're both on the same network (razor has 4 antennas).iPhones can suck it haha! Love the razor best phone I've ever owned. No more carrying a brick in my pocket! Feels Soo good

Nothing quite like getting a new phone home and discovering it has features unknown to either the sales person or the new owner! A loyal Motorola customer, I got the razr when my old GEN1 failed to boot; most phones are a squeeze in my purse and the flip phone fits great but lacks a couple of features I'd hoped would be added next time around but waiting was not an option. Pleasant surprises: - large outside screen is interactive, including MAKING calls. - nestles in the hand - setting preferences is easier than it looked at first - super quick charging, long life battery - the only photo I've taken so far was very crisp and true - I can connect ear buds and not worry about EMFs Disappointment: - I have to carry four chargers when I travel unless I can find jump cords (phone, tablet, laptop, iPod) An extra charger isn't that big a deal, but when I have only one for the phone....

I have been ios user for ages but this device of 2020 was in my mind for quite a time because i was moto razr user in 2018 and was mesmerized by its style but could not gather the courage as i had to dip into my pocket. Finally mustered up my courage and even got a special discount from Best Buy and bagged it. So far i like it a lot. its tiny while folded and can do most of the tasks like answering calls, looking at notifications, camera, calendar etc from the front screen without having to open the fold. User interface is great similar to ios. the fingerprint is rightly located at the back of phone and easily reachable. Android is featureful as an IT tech i remain curious to see the data download upload speed and i get the software here in android. And a lot to write about it but i am a bit pressed for time. Enjoy

I really wanted to like this phone because I absolutely loved the original razr. The battery life isn’t great, the camera isn’t very good, the sound quality over Bluetooth isn’t as good as my iPhone when listening to music. The screen is pretty good in doors but not very good outside. Everything is just acceptable on this phone, nothing is great and nothing really stands out. My iPhone is better in every way and I just can’t justify the downgrade just because it has the Razr name and flips.

As a former 2007 razr2 owner, I wanted to love this phone. I love the concept of folding phones as I hate large phones and phone cases. My pixel 3 takes better photos and is faster in every way with better speakers. You're basically paying $1300 for the ability to fold it in half. I had it in my pocket for a few days and it's already crackling from dust getting into the gears and behind the screen. I'm glad it exists but it's not worth it. Returned, and keeping my pixel 3.
