Expired brewing extract. Don’t waste your time and money on this! The extract expired on June 17th, 2018; it’s now 2020... come on people! Smh.

The beer kit was probably fine when Mr. Beer shipped it to Best Buy. (I have used Mr. Beer kits before, and they are very good.) The problem is, Best Buy sent me a kit that was 1 1/2 years past the expiration date on it's can. The yeast, however, did not have an expiration date, so I went ahead and prepared the wort. The yeast was NOT active, so within a week the top of the wort was covered with green mold. I dumped it down the drain and took the kit (minus the wort and yeast) back to Best Buy. The customer service rep called a manager, who said that I needed to talk to Mr. Beer. But, I did not purchase the kit from Mr. Beer; I purchased it from Best Buy. I am quite certain that Mr. Beer did not send a kit to Best Buy that was past the expiration date. Most likely, this kit sat in a Best Buy warehouse or store for 2 years or more. I would NEVER purchase another Mr. Beer kit from Best Buy, since I would have no idea what they might send me, and since they will not take responsibility for their error. I have no idea whether Mr. Beer will reimburse me for Best Buy's lack of quality/inventory control. (Why should they? They did not make an error.) If they do not, this money was 100% wasted. (I already have 2 other Mr. Beer brewing tanks. So I got NOTHING useful from this purchase.)

What they don’t tell you up front is that you have to buy bottles in order to complete the process. It doubles your cost if you don’t already have them.

The ingredients were expired. According to Mr Beer this is not a big deal.

A really fun and easy way to make your own beer. I am looking into getting some other flavors.

My son is in to craft beer so I figured he would like to try his hand at making some. The kit is straightforward and it is not hard to make. I view this as an introduction to craft beer making. If you want to make this frequently I would suggest buying something more sturdy and durable.

This is a decent home brewing starter kit that I purchased on a deal of the day.

Everything was in the kit to make 2 gals of beer. You will need bottles. They are easy enough to get. The fermenter works great just go to Mr. Beer site if you need help they are great. I really enjoyed make this beer. Easy for a beginner to do, with great results.

Was looking forward to brewing my first batch and I bought two kits only to find out that they had expired almost two years prior.

I got a special deal of 1499 and that is $20 less than the actual retail price a friend of mine had me taste the beer that I created and it was delicious I highly recommend to all beer drinkers out

This was a deal of the day, so I bought it for my husband for his birthday....he has made wine in the past so I thought he'd get a kick out of this. I was disappointed that the date on the bottom of the can of hops stuff expired in 2008. Wonder if this is why Best Buy puts this kind of thing on their Deal of the Day. Not happy at all! He has not made it yet so I cannot say how it turned out.

I love beer so when you can make it at home, it’s just a plus. I’ve tried several different versions of Mr. Beer and they’ve always been good.

Will be waiting another week for the keg to be ready to drink. For the first time I will be brewing my own suds.

I haven't tapped the beer yet. I started the process 3 weeks ago. Should be ready for bottling this weekend.

Expired brewing extract nearly one year beyond expiration date. Poor quality control. Homebrewing is time consuming, and is as much an art as is a science, and no need to mess with expired extract. Returned the beer kit to Best Buy.

It is very good but they do not tell you that you will need to bring the whole wort mixture to room temp 76-80 F or the yeast will not ferment. Maybe they put a super yeast in the kit that will start fermenting when the wort hits room temp but they do not tell you that either. Other than that if do not make good beer with this kit you are more ignorant than a umpa lumpa that got elected president to a country of none candy eaters.

Ordered online, received today. Expiration date of June 2018!!! It's almost May, 2019. Chat told me to return to store, which in my case will take hours of my time! Not the only review with expired goods. Be careful!! Am not happy!
