Good Coffee

Unfortunately we could not get over the ashy taste and smell coming from the carafe. Even an exact replacement had the same smell and taste. The glass carafe of this model did not have taste and smell the same so in that regard it is better (and cheaper) but it doesn't look as nice and feels a bit cheaper (not just the price)/

Mr. Coffee coffee maker - reliability concerns

So this review is for the minimal experience with this particular purchase, and the near 3 years of owning this coffee maker. One of the 2 was replaced under the one year warranty. We have experienced a variety of issues with this particular model coffee maker ranging from not brewing coffee at all, and also the heating platform immediately shutting off after successfully brewing coffee. However we like the features of this coffee maker, and have gotten used to the simplicity with it. This coffee maker does brew great coffee when it does work. Since the coffee maker was on sale, and it was timely that we needed to replace the 2nd failed one, so we purchased this one again. Hopefully there have been some improvements with the design of the coffee maker to make it last longer. It has been about 4 weeks since purchasing this coffee maker (again), so time will tell if it is improved, and more reliable.
