    Wake Up to Great Coffee!

When I was in college, I worked as a waitress in a coffee house where we were expected to grind the coffee beans, and I became so spoiled on fresh ground coffee that I've been grinding my own coffee ever since for almost 30 years. After having read two great reviews from my Best Buy reviewer colleagues, I went out and got this easy-to-use inexpensive little machine. I was completely overwhelmed with the easy way I can regulate the grind, from fine (espresso) to medium (regular) to coarse (French press). When I finished grinding my regular coffee, I was amazed with the uniformity of the ground coffee, and, after I had made it, my morning beverage was every bit as good as that I would expect to be served in the local coffee house! The price is easy on the budget, but I would consider the quality to be the utmost and fanciest. As a poet, I find waking up to a good cup of java necessary to get my words perking throughout the day, and, like a good rock lyric, coffee made from beans ground in this perfect little machine provides just the right daily wake-up call!

There are three things about this coffee grinder that are unacceptable in my opinion. Unless you stand there shaking the grinder while it grinds it will NOT evenly grind the beans. If left to its own, you will have a few almost whole beans work their way to the top of the grounds after the coffee brews. The other, and more irritating "fail" of this product is the fact when you pour the grounds into the filter quite a bit sticks to the bottom of the grinder. Not that they all do not have this issue, but this one seems to be a bigger amount than ones I have had in the past. It also "seems" more of a fragile system as I have to bang it on the counter to get it to come out. I say "seems" as it has not actually broken yet, and it may not... It just "seems" like it will sometime down the road soon. And the final issue I had was the fact that you cannot push a button and walk away while it grinds... You have to hold the top down... I guess maybe this is because you need to shake it to get it to grind all the coffee... /sigh

I have used several grinders in the past, and the Mr. Coffee Grinder since Christmas 2011. Operation is quite simple and efficient.. There are a few bells and whistles that probably aren't necessary but I find that it works well if I set it on medium grind , maximum cups, and gently shake it a little to ensure all the beans are ground. I don't rely on the timing setting if I want a slightly finer grind but just keep it going for a few additional seconds for a finer coffee. I find other reviews that seem to see shaking as a negative as just plain silly as are the coments about cleaning and extracting all the coffee which remains beneath the blade or in the lid. An old toothbrush is very effective and extracting and cleaning both sections and takes seconds as does a quick rinse to thoroughly clean. This is a $20 grinder, which is very effective and easy to use.

Good grinder. Stated features are oversold though.

As an inexpensive grinder that is super easy to clean, this is a great product. Since the chamber can be washed in the dishwasher with ease, you could potentially use this for coffee beans and other foods like flax seeds, spices, etc. That said, the grind settings for size and number of cups are essentially worthless. You have to hold the lid down to grind the beans, so your grind settings end up acting like a timer. You could simply remove your hand from the lid as well. The coarseness of the grind doesn't work at all due to this issue. Coarse ground beans will just be beans that spend less time grinding, so you will still get finely ground beans in the end product. The french press users out there might not like this. If that is your intent, you are better off with a burr grinder. As a basic grinder for this price it can't be beat, just don't expect the world at this price point.

I had heard that once you start grinding your own coffee, you will wonder how you ever drank pre-ground coffee from a can. This is so true! I looked at expensive grinders, inexpensive grinders, burr grinders, blade grinders, etc. I decided to try out an inexpensive one to see if grinding your own coffee really does make a big difference. WOW! It really does. And for this grinder, it does a great job of grinding the coffee. The settings for coarse, medium, fine and the # of cups, I have found, does not really matter. Just stick in the beans and hold down the button until you get the grind you like. I will use this grinder until it does not work anymore and will buy another one just like it without having to spend hundreds of $ on a fancy machine. It is small and does not take up a lot of counter space either.

Most coffee grinders in this price range have a single button. Push it and it grinds, release it and it stops. You need to frequently check the grind to see if it's ready or needs another hit. This grinder takes the guesswork out of it. Select the amount of coffee in the hopper, select the grind you want and let it go. It stops when it's ready and the grind is right on the money. Consistent everytime, so your coffee comes out just as you like it. The column design takes up very little space on the counter but it does require an electrical outlet nearby as the cord is not that long. Black appliances look nicer in a kitchen. They don't stain or get dull like white ones.

This coffee grinder has some great features - removable bowl, auto shut-off, and the capability to select different grinds and quantity. It also has some features that look great on paper - a plastic piece when emptying the grinds, for example, that really doesn't mean anything (I'd rather empty it myself). The bowl is removable, but the fact that there is plastic around the outside of the bowl makes it near impossible to clean, even though it is dishwasher safe. There are plenty of bells and whistles that really aren't needed. For what it is, a grinder, it's good. I love the feature to select course grind, but the auto shutoff isn't always accurate - I'd rather eyeball it sometimes when I'm about to French press.

This grinder is all anyone needs if they like some fresh ground coffee. The price is unbeatable and a lot of other grinders that are of "higher quality" are overkill. You get what you pay for, but as someone who drinks coffee every morning, this is as good as necessary. The cup and grind settings are more than sufficient, and medium grind handles just about every bean perfectly. The only downside is that the lid retain some moisture in between the plastic surfaces when you clean it because they cannot be separated. Granted, it does dry eventually, but I am OCD and like things clean/dry right away. However, I can put up with because of the results I get for the price.

Had the exact same one for years and it did the job. But I'd read up on Burr Grinders and loved that they had 1/2 pound hoppers on top. I figured as soon as my Mr Coffee pooped out I'd move up to something better. Well, he hung on for more years than I figured, but this year the little blades that clean the sides broke off and it was time. So I started window shopping and review reading and price comparing. And after a week of due diligence I decided that instead of buying a pain in the butte that might make better coffee for $150 I'd pick up another ol' reliable Mr Coffee. I'm happy. My fresh ground bean coffee is a yummy way to start the day.

I get an even grind each time and have two of these - one for spices and one for coffee. They have both done very well. I have not really had a problem getting the grinds out but I have rapped the container on the side with the palm of my hand if any have stuck to the bottom. I don't have a problem with cleaning because I rinse and then use my bottle brush and detergent to clean it each time and it's sparkling clean. This is a really good product. I purchased one for a family member.

Will keep this short; great grinder. At $24.99 (picked up for $19.99 on sale) you can't go wrong with this thing. The settings are easily adjustable based on your brewing preferences. Everything clicks and slides like a much pricier unit and operates like one, too. The cord is wound into the base of the unit when you first take it out of the box, be sure to pull it out otherwise you're going to be scratching your head as to why they put such a miniscule cord on the thing.

I purchased a Nesspresso Virtuo Plus and love it and grind, refill my pods. This Mr.Coffee grinder works well, just hold the button down until it stops and you are done. I wanted to purchase the Mr. Coffee automatic mill grinder but wanted to try this one out first...think I will keep the smaller version because it does not take up too much place on the counter.

I purchased this grinder to use at home for small pots of coffee. I am mostly happy with it. The one downside I have noticed is that the coffee grounds don't have a consistent grind. The grounds towards the bottom of the hopper are usually more finely ground than those at the top, and sometimes, they clump together at the bottom. Since this is my first home grinder, I have nothing to compare it to. I do feel it's a good deal for a simple at home grinder.

I purchased this grinder because the packaging clearly states multiple grind settings. I often use a french press for coffee and wanted an economical grinder for coarse grinding. The only thing the different settings do is change the grinding time. No matter where you set it, you still get fine grind. Don't waste your money if you're looking for anything other than a regular coffee grinder

I guess I use this for something other then coffee. I use it for oatmeal. Yep plain old nothing speacial oatmeal. The reason being is I have sensitive skin and buying plain oatmeal to grind then put in my bath and my little sons helps with itchy skin. I read the reviews and shopped around, it's super compact but yet powerful all at the same time. Works great and fast and has saved our skin many a times!!! Great little grinder.

Read lots of reviews before buying (on so many products). Was not concerned about the grinding feature, but I did have some concern over length of power cord. Product arrived and WOW, only 12"? Ridiculous. THEN--- I noticed there was more cord (very, very tightly) coiled inside base that could be unwound. The cord is MORE than ample once I discovered this, and the actual coffee bean grinding is completely adjustable and responsive.

Looking at this device and feeling its blades really wasn't all the impressive. I thought that there was no way this could handle my oats I wanted to use for my protein shakes never mind actual coffee beans. However, within seconds this little machine turns my oats into dust in what I can only say is the most impressive feat I've bare witness in a long time. Very easy to clean as well, which is certainly a plus.

I have used this for a good month already and I do not have any complaints so far. Works perfectly for my family. I am a coffee drinker and use it every day. I love the freshly grounded coffee in the morning so this thing works. You can easily remove the container and blade so you can rinse it easily. Overall, I recommend this. Great product and the price is right.

I got this after my Cuisinart started not working great after like 10 years. This works just ok, I'm pretty particular when it comes to my coffee and grind beans just before I brew. It didn't grind them as fine as I would have liked but I decided to keep it for grinding my chia seeds and other items like that. Works great for that! I ended up getting the Mellita grinder for a bit more money but LOVE it!!

I ordered this online and then price matched with Amazon. When I got it and opened it up it seemed to be a nice product. However, due to my mistake, it doesn't seem to grind nuts like I needed it to. The reviews overall were very positive. It grinds coffee and seeds but not nuts as far as I know. I don't think you could go wrong buying this so I'm recommending it based on how it looked out of the box and reviews.
