I've owned this computer for about a month now and am very pleased with its performance. The display is large, crisp and clear. The powerful processor makes extensive searches and analysis lightning fast. The keyboard feels firm and is easy to use (though I personally wish that the touchpad had been centered below the space bar). Bluetooth and wifi work perfectly. It's slim, light and looks cool. This laptop was not cheap, but so far I think it was worth every penny.

This computer was great and was able to handle any game that I through at it. However, I returned it to purchase its predecessor. Mainly for the smaller screen, 32 gigs and 2070 super which is better than the Max Q. This computer did heat up a lot but if you are processing heavy graphics and information that will happen with any computer nowadays including the one I replaced it with. I did like the cooling fans that were able to cool the entire computer within 30 seconds and the sleek look of it. Also, the packaging was nice.

I've been using this beautiful thing since I bought it -- it's big but not insanely heavy, runs beautifully -- I played No Man's Sky on it last night with a friend for about five or so hours and it ran wonderfully, no noticeable lag. I've also had my keyboard set to Audio Visualizer for awhile and watching it light up rainbow whenever music plays or people talk is Wonderful. I had a bit of trouble with the audio drivers, but the fix was pretty easy -- just be sure to update everything as soon as you get it and you should be golden!

I am a geek and as much as I love gaming on Windows, my work is mostly dominated on Linux. I had my reservations about running Linux on this and initially did have some issues with NV drivers and battery life, but some tweaking around the CPU frequency and I hit 5-6 hours of easy battery life even on Linux! So far, so good. Windows experience is smooth and no problems of battery with daily tasks there (wouldn't recommend gaming on battery though!). Here is a quick summary: Pros: - Great display! (Gorgeous matte finish with amazing colors) - Nice large keyboard with good space and good key travel, not to mention the customizable colors! - Off the chart specs (Mine is 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM, RTX 2070 MaxQ, i7-9th gen); do I need to say more? Cons: - Windows is loaded with a lot of bloatware (annoyingly small games and stuff pre-installed) - Despite having a full numeric keypad, it misses having dedicated Home and End keys (might affect people who want to type a lot) and no Windows key on the left side (the Control key is extended for gaming) - Somewhat expensive though totally worth it, and also received a $200 discount on BestBuy)

I love this laptop! This is my second MSI laptop after upgrading my old one from four years ago. It loads really fast, has the capability to add another 16 GB of ram and two slots to put in additional hard drives. I have already installed another 2 TB NVME hard drive and it was really easy to do. I have played games like Forza Horizon 4, Guild Wars 2 with maxed out or near maxed out graphics. The screen is beautiful. The ultrawide trackpad takes getting used to.

Enjoy the simplistic setup of this laptop. Great aesthetics, it looks very professional for it being a gaming laptop. Keyboard is one of the best on a laptop that ive ever used(thanks to steel series) but the 2070 max q is a little lacking. Maybe will get better over time with driver updates? Either way i have some semi future proof and so far plays all my games maxed out by default smoothly. Even adjusting settings that arent on by default it doesnt even break a sweat. Fans are a bit loud so max q for what? Lol. Anyways i cant complain its thin, light and a beast. Gj MSI.

I bought the MSi laptop for its powerhouse processor and huge SSD. It's primarily for my work in engineering as I need the fast microprocessor speed along with a decent video card as well as good-sized memory (RAM). So far, it's been great and fast. No heating issues to speak of as yet (I'll keep a eye on that as other reviewers have noted it). I would definitely buy MSi again in the future from BestBuy.

Sure, you could probably build one thats a bit faster for a bit less, but this little package saves you the hassle and isactually a fair price! Super thin for what it contains for fast gaming on the go! The unit does actually become a bit warm during more demanding or longer gaming sessions, but can easily be mitigated by using in a well ventilated area. Overall, GREAT gaming laptop, tons of power.

I bought this notebook for my wife to create videos and run zoom conferencing. She is a teacher and her dell inspiron 1500 was biting the dust. Upgrading to the i7 9750 along with a GTX 2070 this thing can handle anything she throws at it along with if I feel like connecting my valve index in a different room from my desktop. Lots of custom features in an incredibly light package.

This is a great laptop and unlike many of MSI's competitors it's thin and therefore lighter. I came from a ROG and boy are they heavy and large in the rear. I also like the fact that the speakers are on the top. The steelseries keyboard is a nice touch although I didn't buy it for that reason. It's running all of the latest games with ease (Far Cry 5, The Witcher 3, and Crysis 3)

I’ve had this computer for about a month, it’s very fast. Games look great and run great. My con with this computer is the fan is very very loud. I bought a cooling fan for it and it has helped tremendously otherwise it’s so loud I would have returned it. The other issue for me is the speakers are just ok, not a big issue for me as I use a headset. I gave a 4 star bc of the fan, if loud noises bother you you should not buy, otherwise this computer is so smooth.

Picked up 2 of these. One for myself. One for the hubby. Yes, the fan is a bit loud when gaming. Very quiet when doing other "regular" things. So far my negatives are (small ones) I do not like track pads. I always turn them off. This one is very large and right where one would rest the heel of your palm. It's off but still the pressure presses on the pad. Can I live with that? Yes. Number 2 of smallish negatives. Was expecting to have fun with the keyboard. Only setting that I've found that is sold (not moving, driving you crazy blinky) setting is solid green. Would be nice if you could choose one of the other colors. Other than that neither of us have found any issues with it handling any games we've thrown at it. I've been through 3 Asus ROG's and this handles anything and more than I've thrown at those. Would I recommend this? Yes. I did a lot of research and asked a lot of computer geek friends and while I've had to reset a bunch of passwords cuz I forget :P It's getting to where I want it. Once that is done I think I found a new brand/model of a favorite computer.

I was searching for a laptop for a while, this was the best out there, Nice intel 9th generation processor and Nvidia graphics card and huge storage space. This is a laptop that will run your games and editing programs with not even a flinch, the Keyboard is nice and big and is a light and portable laptop.

I upgraded from an i3 (different manufacturer) to this i7, so this is a very large jump for me. This is also my first MSI. The improvement is incredible! The start up is much faster. Although twice the amount of what i felt comfortable paying for a laptop, i will have to admit it was worth every penny. Using Fortnite as a baseline game on the i3 i had, was painfully slow, and the display was cloudy. The screen is crystal clear on this MSI. Playing Fortnite is easy now, i plan to get a different game in 2020, and am sure this laptop will not disappoint. I read a different review using the word "buttersmooth". It is the truth. If you could describe the game play on this PC in one word, that would be it. This particular model has only 16GB of RAM and it plays no problemo. As far as the cons, the only issue i am having is the touchpad. It works fine, but i seem to have some issues with dragging/dropping/left-right/clicking sometimes. It is not the device, but the size is larger than i am used to, so it will take some time to get used to it. Just go to a Best Buy and see for yourself!

I not only bought the 17.3" for myself, I bought the 15.6" for my wife (and business partner in our local publishing company). We both love the 1TB Solid State Drive...and the 9th Gen Intel I-7 is excellent...and we don't even use these for gaming! We do a lot of hi-res graphic design work and data processing, and find it as good or better than any similarly spec'd Mac...and much less expensive. Great video display and response. Thank you to all who recommended this machine. I researched EVERY laptop out there for under $2K and this was the best set up of all. Everything revolves around your own usage preferences, of course. But I definitely recommend these MSI Gaming Laptops...AND they're very lightweight making them really easy to carry and use on a mobile basis when needed. Hope this is helpful to others!

I had a very difficult time choosing which laptop would be my next. It took a long while, but I came to this one as my conclusion. The price for the specs of this laptop was really good. I haven't had any issues with it yet. I will say this... It gets really hot, but it at least doesn't throttle much. This laptop is very sleek and slim. It has a lot of flex because of that. Treat this laptop with care. The webcam is my only gripe. MSI should have taken the ASUS approach of including a webcam, preferably 1080. The MSI comes with a 720 built-in. It's alright, but it isn't 1080. At least MSI slimmed it down so much that it isn't a big deal for the screen maximization.

After using the same computer for 8 years, this was a serious jump into PC gaming. Great user controls through the MSI control centers and apps, everything is easy to navigate and manage with precision controls, graphics, fan speed, screen ratios. Research before buys showed the MAX-Q versions on the thin laptops did run hot but this was easily adjustable with fan speeds and an air cooler under the computer. Benchmarks for apex Ledgends, world of tanks, battlefield, fortnite, elder scrolls online and call of duty have all been able to run the games in Ultra-High setting with no loss, glitching, or delay. Certainly an excellent computer for someone on the go looking to keep themselves into gaming. The aluminum case has been great and give confidence that it is stronger and won’t break while carrying it around in a bag.

I bought this laptop because it was on sale for 450 dollars off which allowed me to consider a new tier of gaming laptop i hadn't budgeted for. Thats said, if you can afford the 2k+ pricetag or if you can get it on sale i would highly recommend it. The laptop is sleek, light, and tackles everything from streaming to ray tracing in AAA games all while having chrome tabs and discord open on a second monitor. One small downside is that the powerful cooling system inside can be noisy and the laptop can get to high, albeit safe, temperatures likely due to the powerful gpu and cpu being situated in such a slim chasis.
