I'm a college student who craves a performance laptop. The laptop overkills basic programs such as word, excel, paint, etc. CAD programs, matlab, and videogames work extremely well. No lag, if not close to no lag. There are a few settings which you need to get used too, but become extremely convenient. After the setup, for instance, it makes your computer go on its highest power efficiency when unplugged (leading to lag on CAD software and Gaming) and high performance when it's plugged in (no lag, close to no lag). One setting I enjoyed was MSI truecolor, where you can adjust the color palette to fit your needs. In specific, I like to use the anti-blue setting. With this setting, it sacrifices color accuracy(tints everything red), but I don't get the typical headaches I get for working on the computer for a long time while stressed. Sometimes I was limited to like 5 hours of work. now I could go for +13 hours easily. If not you can change the settings for playing videos/videogames/etc. The custom sound software is also amazing for audiophiles. Being able to balance bass, treble, reverb, and voice clarity is super nice. The bass on the computer is very noticeable. It's like opening a door to a new world. Voices and music sound more complete. The ability to toggle the back lit keyboard and it's settings is also useful when working in the dark/watching a movie, or just being eye candy. There is also a turbo feature on the fan which is super hilarious. It sounds like a vacuum cleaner is on, but it does work. The turbo feature is never needed because the computer does a good job keeping itself cool. The fan is never noticeable during use, even during cad/gaming. However, it's always funny to randomly turn it on and watch people stare in horror as they think your laptops about to blow up. The disadvantage of this laptop however is it's size and weight. I had to buy a bag online simply because stores like best buy and walmart didn't keep bags large enough to hold a 17.3 inch laptop. Personally, I'm used to weight. My high school bag was heavier than my college bag, and I'm used to carrying a laptop everywhere. However, the size can be awkward to place on in-classroom desks. Though I know that the laptop is super rigid, I feel like the laptop could hurt itself under its own weight, especially if you place the weight on the ventilation rather than the feet (I'm not the only one paranoid about damaging a $2k laptop right?). This bulk can also be troublesome because of the speakers. In my opinion, the speakers (though they are great quality), were inefficiently designed because they point downwards. Because of that, if you do not have a large surface, the speakers point into the floor, causing you to lose a lot of sound, especially if the floor is carpet. Another disadvantage, from a gaming perspective, is that though you have enough processing power to reach like 300 fps (in league of legends ive reached like 370fps), your monitor only is 120hz. because of such, your screen can only display a maximum of 120 fps. Overall, I wanted a laptop with unmatched performance in CAD, Gaming, and Listening to music. I got what I wanted.
