Customers are saying

Customers regard the RAM and GPU as positive aspects, with comments highlighting their ability to handle demanding tasks and deliver high frame rates in games. However, the cooling system received significant criticism for issues such as high temperatures under load and poor airflow, leading to concerns about the system's reliability. Some users also mentioned suboptimal cable management and experienced performance problems with their initial units.

Working really well! Fans definitely needed tuning right out of box as they were pretty loud at low temps. You are probably going to want to get more drive space as well as it only comes with 1 tb ssd. Going to try out a 2tb m.2 ssd since the z690 board comes with slots for it. Cable management isn’t the best to be honest, kind of all stuffed into the back but it isn’t the worst. Gear inside is pretty nice! Good thermaltake psu, good compatibility with msi’s own motherboard. I am planning on upgrading the ram cards from 16 to 32gb. Otherwise, great prebuilt for the price especially in this market.

This machine came out on top on my cost analysis spreadsheet. Good luck getting a 3080, 12 series Intel CPU, DDR5 RAM and everything else for this price or less. Some other machines matched it but there were often documented cooling issues associated. Check the other reviewers list of parts and he is correct on it all. By the way, been playing Dying Light 2 on ultra ray tracing with merely one tiny stutter over 6 hours play, and a GPU max temp of 63C so, PRETTY happy with stock cooling. Fans are silent, not sure why they were loud for another reviewer.

Before I bought this I asked an honest question about confirming the specs of this PC and was given golden answers such as "This is a stupid question just read the bestbuy listing." My personal favorite was "This could be a Bestbuy only version which is why the specs and price are lower than the one you are referring to from Newegg." Wonderful. As it turns out, trusting Best Buy descriptions and/or letting random strangers answer questions with conjecture is perilous. Here are the facts: 1. The GPU is a MSI RTX 3080 Ventus 3x 10GB OC. It is not 12GB (product description and commenters are wrong) 2. The RAM is indeed DDR5-4800Mhz by Samsung, not DDR4. Nice. (product description and commenters are wrong) 3. The CPU AIO is 2x120mm fans w/ top-mounted radiator. (product picture is wrong) 4. PSU is Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB 750w. Not bad. 5. The SSD is in NVME 4.0 8.0GT/s. I haven't pulled it to check the mfg. 6. The CASE is actually pretty nice. It's wider than entry level NZXT stuff and looks like it can fit a NH-D15. The front intake is poorly designed. The bottom PSU intake is tiny. You aren't really saving money by buying this pre-built PC, but you are getting access to a GPU as well as the ability to buy/return to an actual brick and motar store so it was worth it to me. Sincerely - A person who knows what he is talking about.

A year and a half later. What can I say? It's disappointing to say the least. For starters, the CPU hits up to 90c when under a heavy load. There is little to no airflow within the case. By using the software "3DMark", most scores only come out to average on tests like "Port Royal" and "Time Thief". IF, and this is a big if, if MSI put this system in a bigger case, then my rating would go up. The PC isn't feasible to have if my temps are practically melting the system. Pros: RTX card works superbly, with little to no issues on AA games. RAM is decent enough to handle most tasks. Processor is an absolute beast, usually OC'd at a 4.87GHz setting. Cons: The cooling system is trash. Especially for a liquid cooler. The SSD could be much faster, and higher quality if MSI actually decided to put the work in. The price is beyond expensive for what you get. You'd be better off building your own computer with similar parts. The wiring in the back is absolutely insane. There is basically no cable management whatsoever. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this system to someone who needs a gaming PC fast. Build your own or go for another brand, perhaps Acer?

The components are pretty good for a prebuild. When I opened and removed the foam packing behind the glass I noticed that the heat shields on one side of both dram modules had come off. They would not reinstall so I tested the unit without them. A minor issue. Just be sure to take a good look inside before applying power. I was running an Alien I 7-8700 cpu, nvidia gtx 1080, and samsung nvme ssd gen3 for drive c. This machine ran Far Cry New Dawn at 48 FPS average Benchmark in Ultra. The Aegis with 12th gen I 7, ddr5 dram, nvidia rtx3080 ventus, and gen 3 m2 averaged 138 FPS. Cons. Runs on the hot side for cpu and really should have 360 aio instead o the 240 aio. The front cover blocks a lot of air by its design. It can be removed. Airflow is probably worst part of this machine. Liked the performance gain but not happy with it for the money which was $2599 plus tax. Kept waiting for better financing terms from best buy but they never materialized. 12 months for this much cost is rediculous. However, I can by tv for half the cost and get 18-24 month no interest financing. Pretty messed up on best buys part. So I returned it and bought elsewhere a better machine that cost a bit more but way better financing.

This is my second Aegis with a 3080. I also have yhe intel i7-11700 model. Imo this gen is a lot better. It's fast, temps are manageable, and it's quality parts. If you can wait a year you could probably build it better for cheaper, but for now this is the best 3080 pre-built you'll find from a place that you can pretty much return it no questions asked if you happen to catch a lemon. The only downside I've found with it is upgrading the ram is expensive compared to ddr4, which the i7-12700 can run on. At this moment there's not much speed difference between ddr4 & ddr5, but with the specs on this computer ddr5 could become alot faster before you'd have to upgrade. All in all if you need a desktop with a 3080 this is a great pre-built.

Computer came in secure packaging. I am not a fake person reviewing this either. Was debating something cheaper but glad I spent the extra. Works great. I can get any fps I want on just about anything (within reason) as long as i set my settings correct. Things a powerhouse. Can be a little loud at times but I have never adjusted the fans so probably not the best settings yet.

Very Good System. Parts are as describe by the other review. I did have a cooling issue, I have had it for a few days cpu core temp was getting up to 95-100. I called MSI this morning and have sent it to them for repair, they are going to replace the defective liquid cooling unit. I would have never noticed the issue expect by having the monitoring software up, still was running smooth as butter even though the CPU was throttling back. Giving 5 star review regardless, very good system and MSI is making it right.

Although the directions on how to plug in the monitor was wrong (you had to plug it into the video card vs where it says monitor), the computer has worked great. Very fast and looks cool too.

I Had this pc for a short time. it was great for a while, however unbeknownst to me the liquid cooling unit was defective. Due to this the pc slowing started melting down until it couldn’t even stay on for 10 seconds b4 powering off. There was a strange hum coming from LC and I think multiple pieces of hardware broke in the end. I should have been monitoring heat and paid more attention to non-standard noises it was making. Best Buy helped me send in for repair and in the end it had to be scrapped and I got store credit to put towards a replacement pc. It was awesome while it worked, but do not skip on the warranty if you buy one of these!!!
