I returned this laptop to the store. The images portrayed online were not the same as the actual laptop. Matte screen not a plus for me. Also, had some software errors which resulted in windows reboots.

This computer is amazing, fast and can handle mostly anything thrown at it. The CPU can get hit since the only fan is over the GPS, which makes sense. I love the computer and recommend it to anyone with a tight budget on gaming computers. If I had it to do over, I would save a few more dollars and buy the next models up, the ones that have two fans.

I'm not a gamer, I bought this computer for audio and video editing and I absolutely love it. Fast as lightning and not heavy for its size. It does heat up a bit (Doesn't overheat) on the left side, but nothing that concerns me. Fan can be a little louder than most, but I use headphones and can't hear it. MSI did a great job with the packaging and design of the computer. I am equally pleased with the aesthetics as I am with the performance and I would recommend this computer to anyone.

Well worth the money, run current gen games in high settings and handles smaller tasks instantly

Great computer, still working in 2020. Never had a laptop that worked sooooo long. MSI is a great brand and has brought me lots of online gaming enjoyment.

The Apache Pro along with Windows 8.1 is super fast.!

I have had this since Monday. It came full of malware. That was taken care of then it took time getting use to it's issues, The heat issue is bad, got a laptop cooler with two fans that does help. The other issue was keyboard/track pad. Could not get use to it so got a notebook mouse that made things much easier . I found the lights annoying and discovered hibernate setting so i could do movies. Gaming have not tried because it kept shutting down till i got the laptop cooler pad. The battery life is dismal without being plugged in. This is not ideal for students that want to use it in class or expect because it is a laptop to be portable it needs a plug. Keep that in mind if you are a student. I would not purchase this product again due to keyboard lay out, track pad , i also discovered while lights look cool they are annoying. Biggest con not portable and low battery life

My wife really liked this computer, until it stopped working a week later. Returned it to Best Buy for a full refund.

It took longer than expected for my MSI Notebook to come in but it was well worth the wait. I was unfamiliar with MSI before talking to a Best Buy sales rep. I spent a lot of time researching them and liked their reputation. However, double-check what the Best Buy sales rep tells you. I bought this Notebook and wanted an SSD installed in it. The SSD that the sales rep sold me would not work. The Geek Squad found a compatible SSD and installed and set up the Notebook as I wanted. This Notebook is unbelievable. This is the God's honest truth; the Notebook boots up in 17 seconds flat. It shuts down even quicker. The SSD has a lot to do with that. Another reason I chose this Notebook is because the HDD spins at 7200 rpm, not the 5400 that a majority of HDD spin. This makes a really big difference. I will never buy another laptop unless it's 7200 rpm. The fan noise that people have whined about is barely noticeable and it really cools down the laptop when under stress. I'm really glad to have that feature available. Also, the 17.3 " screen is gorgeous! I spend a lot of time watching Netflix and DVDs and they are beautiful. This laptop is soooo light, around 6 pounds and made of aluminum; it's really great. I can comfortably take it with me anywhere. The only downside to this laptop is battery life. I get between 3 and 3.5 hours under heavy use. It's the most that I've ever spent on a Notebook and well-worth every penny! If you need a heavy-duty, high-end machine, I strongly suggest considering this one. Be sure to add an SSD and you won't be sorry (about $160). One final thing, MSI has been great. I registered my Notebook with them and they have top-notch technical support people. I'm new to Windows 8.1 (previously used Windows 7) and they have been a great help. BTW, I love Windows .1. I was definitely anxious about adjusting to it and it took about 15 minutes to figure it out. Take my word for it, this is a great Notebook.

Okay so as a Selfish owner of a Asus ROG and a MSI GE70 I decided to write a comparison review to help anyone weigh out the two options. When I have the displays side by side the Asus display seems to have a little more quality, also i own a tosihiba kind of older that can run most games except newer ones and the MSI display is a lot better so I am not saying it is bad. Another key point that I want to bring up is WEIGHT the MSI weighs 6 pounds while the ASUS is at 11 and the hardware isn't all that different. :Asus- - 25>16 G RAM, (you would be fine with 10 most of the time and RAM is upgradeable on both), - 1204>1000 Gig Hard drive (Both parts are upgradeable) MSI- Nvidia 860m over Asus 780m? This does make a difference and if curious you should look up the graphic card specshttp://www.geforce.com/hardware/notebook-gpus/geforce-gtx-780m/specifications http://www.geforce.com/hardware/notebook-gpus/geforce-gtx-860m/specifications. Finishing off my review I honestly prefer the MSI over its lightweight mobility and sleek design with a metal casing instead of plastic which looks nice its processing speed is updated with latest intel i7 and can only be matched by other top tier laptops like the asus. There are no huge differences between these two Gaming Rigs and when it comes to buying I would ask myself do I need it to be mobile? If so get the MSI. If a semi loud fan is an issue and weight is not a issue get the Asus for a quieter experience (though i have headphones so the fan doesnt bother me) OH AND LASTLY THE MSI has better audio.

Bought this sight unseen from the store, arrived in a few days. Just the most perfect gaming laptop. Big display, very light for it's size. Ran Diablo three all the way up no problem, 60FPS. Fantastic value for the performance.

Received it Monday afternoon, would not power on Tuesday night. I got about 30 minutes of usage out of it, the rest of the 26 hours I owned it, it remained in sleep mode. Nuff said.... Too bad, I was really excited about this rig. It's going back this morning.
