I bought this laptop to replace a 4 year old Alienware one. I spent probably triple the amount on that laptop. Both laptops are similar in the ram and CPU speed. I mean, then I wanted top of the line stuff, this time around it wasn't so important to me. (I wasn't willing to spend that kind of money again). I had never heard of MSI before, and none of the Best Buys in my area had any MSI laptops on display so I bought this with high hopes but zero experience with them. I mostly use it for gaming and video editing. (I know, desktops are better for video editing but I have limited space) I'm pleased to report that I am 100% satisfied with this purchase. It does everything that I need it to do and more.

This is a great laptop for the price and have had no issues all playing games or streaming movies. I would say for a entry level to mid level gaming laptop you cannot go wrong with this purchase

Ordered this laptop for hubby and since I already own a MSI AIO AG240 I knew it was a good brand. Loved the SS drive made everyday programs and boot up tremendously fast. PC is modern on features and easy to use. I got it set up and going for him meaning I added his favorite programs he likes.. PC feels nice and sturdy without being bulky, and has given zero problems, even with him using 8-12 hrs a day... He even said "it's the best PC I've ever had" For us I chose this one over a new update to his old Asus ROG which was a great machine in itself, but when I compared this pc to new ROG I felt this was a better match up for him and the price was also better @ that time. This is a great laptop pc that you will be proud to own and use...I would definitely recommend this laptop to not only my friends but anyone looking for a upper scale durable beautiful pc at an affordable price.....

Overall its Awesome! Great for College!

Going into college, I needed to buy a new laptop. I spent weeks looking at articles and researching different brands and laptops. I am an engineering student, so it would have to be able to handle all the software I had to for class on it. I am also an avid gamer so I would spending hours on it at a time playing games. After hours of consideration at the store, I finally decided to get this laptop. I have had it for about 8 months and it was one of my best decisions. Due to the SSD, the computers start up time in about 3-5 seconds which is amazing. It also cuts down on the load times of games and such and it incredible. The only thing I don’t like is the 128g SSD memory. It is pretty small, and uploading my games onto it take up a lot of space. I am thinking about upgrading the SSD to 240g, but I don’t have the money and still have all the terabyte hard drive to use up. Gaming is fantastic! It runs all my games at 60 fps and better with maxed graphics. I have never once dipped below 60, and for some games when I play with uncapped fps it hits about 330. With this laptop I am able to play games like League of Legends, Star Wars Battle Front, Batman: Arkham Knight, StarCraft 2, and countless steam games all with maxed graphics. It does heat up after a while of gaming but the computer comes with an interface where you can see how the system is preforming and you can turn up the fans. I have never had trouble connecting to Wi-Fi either, and while my friends had trouble connecting to the schools bad internet, I have never had a problem (I have 9 ping on speedtest.net). I also spent 13 hours straight watching a season of a show on Netflix with no problems. I also really like how you can customize or at least see how all the components are functioning in the laptop. There are only a few problems I have had with the laptop. One is the battery is non-removable. So if there is a battery problem I would have to send it out to MSI. But this doesn’t bother me for I keep mine plugged in all the time. Next is the laptop is pretty big and heavy. I opted for this one (the 17.3 inch screen) But I think it I wanted to take notes on it during class I would have gotten the 15 inch screen for its more moveable. But if I did this, it would defeat the purpose (in my eyes) of having a gaming laptop. Overall I think this laptop was a great buy. It is great for gaming which I was most worried about. All the components are great and allow you to fully appreciate a games graphics. The screen is awesome, it allows for excellent gaming, watching movies instead of a TV and good for multiple windows open. It is mostly all metal and easy to clean; then with the backlit keyboard lights it looks incredible. This review of the laptop was pretty much the reason why I choose this computer over the others. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZu1c52u6VU I would definitely buy this laptop again.

This laptop meets all of my needs. The backlit keyboard looks very cool, and I get excellent fps when playing games. Fans can get loud at times, though.

This is my 3rd gaming computer. I had an asus which was designed bad for power cord. kept breaking inside computer. Then an alienware. It was the best same specs as this 1 but best buy didn't have one with the 16gb ram. This one is ok but way slower seems like it struggles more. It should be just as fast. This 1 does come with a dvd/cd tho where alienware didn't. Doesn't have easy access to upgrade either. have to remove entire bottom to change to bigger ssd.
