I purchased this laptop to take with me to Vietnam since my old laptop was over a decade old. So far, this laptop is great, but the one flaw it has is that it over heat too easily. It gotten so hot it actually burning. I dont know if the heat sink is working or not, but it definitely way too hot. I have to use some external fan and keep it in an open area to keep it properly cool. But other than that, it a neat machine.

This notebook was purchased 8 months ago and has been a stable system since new. The notebook also performs very well for the money with some minor upgrades.
I added an extra 1TB M.2, 32GB of RAM and replaced the stock thermal paste with Noctua.
The computer would throttle slightly without new thermal paste occasionally hitting 100C like most gaming notebooks so. Replacing the paste yielded ~10C cooler results.I would buy again easily.

The pros of this laptop is that it runs good on most games I’ve played, the refresh rate is solid, but the cons is that it’s heavy, big, not easily portable, it’s dedicated to sit in your house/office, fan can be annoying, short battery life. The hardware design isn’t my cup of tea.

2024 review:
Still performs well even 2 years after purchase.
I upgraded the ram to 16gb, as 8gb is just not enough. Heats up quite a lot when playing playing games, so on a desk or table is recommended. Very fast display!

Great laptop, for the price, its a great way to get an RTX graphics card(3060). I would say right out of the box, it wont operate as good as it can. I would recommend an upgrade to the ram and an addition to the storage if you anticipate using it for gaming. The only knock I would say is the battery life, it doesn't last very long--especially when gaming. But what can you expect given that its running an RTX 3060 in a lightweight laptop at this price point.

Got it at $800 on sale. Spend another $150 or so to up the ram to 32gbs and add another 500gb ssd. With a laptop cooler the thing is a mid level gaming beast. Warzone on mostly high settings runs just over 100fps, halo infinite on high setting runs right around the same frame rate. Id expext it can run most titles on mid-high settings except for the real demanding game such as cyberpunk. The screen is surprisngly good and the 144hz refresh rate is nice.

This is a nice piece of hardware. As advertised with the RTX 3060 you cannot go wrong. Now you might ask... why is this so cheap when other RTX 3060 laptops cost about 300 dollars more? Well, I have the answer and it's not necessarily bad depending on your view. This laptop uses an RTX 3060 MAX-Q. It's a slightly neutered RTX 3060 because it has some features cut back and low power for efficiency. Combined with an i5 10500 processor this is a nice, average power, complete gaming setup. Now would the performance be better with a full fat i7 processor and a full RTX 3060 (non Max-Q)? Yes, it absolutely would but you would pay a premium for that and the reason to buy this thing is value. My 3DMark scores are about 7000 in Time Spy and about 18500 before I tinker with some overclocking. I bought this laptop about a week after Black Friday 2021 for $849.99 - about $913.00 shipped with taxes. I love it. It's exactly what I wanted and out of the box it's an excellent way to get into PC gaming. That being said - two upgrades to consider right away is 16 gigs of RAM (two 8 gig sticks... this thing only comes with a single 8 gig stick) but you can find a matching stick easily or dump it and buy a whole new kit with better timings and so on. You also will want another nvme drive to help with storage. This laptop has no room for a 2.5in hard drive it only uses nvme drives. I've seen reviewers online dog the 512 gig nvme drive it comes with. The one I have comes with a Micron 2210 nvme ssd and its fine, the only place you would see a speed issue is in a benchmark which really isn't real world use. The fans spin up during gaming and it does get loud but not uncomfortably loud - this is a benefit of having the max-Q variant of the 3060. The screen is also fine. 144hz, nice viewing angles, good saturation, to my eyes its pleasing. I am using it for gaming, some work stuff, and watching YouTube, web surfing, etc. The screen works as advertised. It is not a super high resolution 100% color accurate or HDR anything screen. For 1080p gaming... with all of the latest and greatest titles... and RTX and DLSS support... this thing was an amazing value. If you need a gaming laptop and you can get one of these for around 850 dollars - you are getting a great laptop and an awesome value.

Pretty good little laptop. It is fast and good for the price. I did add another 8 gigs of RAM and another ssd because these were areas that it was lacking. It does have a 3060 but it is a very underpowered model, even among mobile cards. All in all, I'd recommend it for the price.

I've been using this laptop for the past year, and I truly love it. It's been great for gaming. I used to use my mac for gaming, which was great, however, the games took up too much space. This laptop has more than enough space for me, and the visuals are great. The only con that I have is the battery. It does not last long, and I have to have my charger next to me when playing a game.

After months of investigation, I chose this laptop over some of its competitors due to the better GPU and lighter weight.
The RTX3060 GPU, while throttled somewhat vs desktop versions, is still powerful enough to run most games. Additionally, the laptop has an integrated Intel Graphics chipset, which is used for most everyday tasks like web browsing and video playback. This enables the battery to last longer and generates less heat, allowing the fans to run quieter. The core i5, is competitive verses the i7, while being almost $200 cheaper.
I highly recommend upgrading the RAM to at least 16 GB. The first thing I did was replace the 8 GB RAM with 32 GB and enable XMP in the BIOS. This let the RAM run at 2933 MHz, instead of the 2133 MHz that it was running out of the box.

I have owned this laptop for a while now and I can say its a good laptop if you can get it at the right price. There are a few things one has to watch out for with this laptop.
Pros
RTX 3060
512GB ssd
Light weight
144Hz panel
Cons
Only 8gb ddr4
Runs on the hot side for the CPU
Lack of USB ports
In terms of support with the laptop if you have a problem like I did where the computer would lock up at idle either on desktop or watching a video or something don't bother contacting MSI regarding the issue. This issue happened to me and only thing they said was make a backup and make sure the bios is up to date which makes no sense due to the fact there is only one bios on there site and the laptop already has it. So what the fix was I had factory reset the laptop and since doing that I haven't had it happen again.

The best priced RTX3060 laptop you can get for 800

At $800 this is an easy pick up and earns 4 stars for cost to performance . But it dose have flaws that absolutely mean you should never pick this laptop if it’s at full price.
The good:
: 75 watt RTX3060 6gb and by addition Nvidia DLSS to milk performance out of any game that supports this technology.
:6 core 12 thread intel 10th gen i5 running at 4.2GHZ without me fiddling with any bios settings is a solid CPU that should age fairly well since most games fail to use multiple CPU cores effectively
:brushed aluminum looks and feels nice on my hands .
: key board back light Only in Red.
: cooling seems acceptable as I game on it with 2 fans and 6 heat pipes it dose an ok job cooling the system, the stock fan curve is rather conservative but you can adjust it to spin faster. I would however recommend buying a cooling pad if you intend to use this laptop a Lot as a main gaming rig or live in a hot climate
:The laptop still feels fairly light and thin even with all the heat pipes
: it has a 720p 30fps webcam for school/work needs
: 1 external display rated for 4K @ 60 FPS, as a side note most display ports are connected directly to the GPU not the CPU so even tho this laptop has no MUX switch you can get slightly better FPS by using an external monitor
: the laptop is easy to open up for a user to personally upgrade the RAM and ad a second NVME SSD just look it up on YouTube , just remember to unplug the battery first.
Now for the Meh:
:the 75 watt GPU isn’t the lowest watt 3060 on the market but it’s not the highest watt either
:Keyboard feels average
:2 USB ports for peripherals, for me that’s a USB headset and a mouse
: the screen is only average yes it’s 144FPS but it has no gsync and it’s color accuracy and brightness is fine enough for games or content consumption but you would absolutely need to use a quality external monitor if you intend to do any professional editing on this laptop
: comes with a 512gb SSD taking up 1 of the 2 NVME slots, it’s not bad but honestly 512gb fills up fast with modern games so you need to add a second NVME SSD
Now to the bad:
:No MUX switch, seriously ANY laptop with a dedicated GPU should have a MUX switch. However as mentioned you can bypass this on some laptops by using an external monitor
:comes with only 8gb of ram which is a joke since you will use 5gb of it just sitting at the Home Screen in windows 10, do yourself a favor and pick up at least a 16gb kit or if you really want to be safe 32gb
:keyboard dose not have the number pad on the right of the keyboard
: I personally hate the letter font on the keys since W,E,M,3 look the same only rotated
: brushed aluminum can be a fingerprint magnet but I like it more than plastic
:the 2 USB type c ports can NOT!! be used to charge or display anything so no direct connection to VR or a monitor using USB C they are only for external SSD/HDD
: the only way you can connect to this laptop to use VR is wireless
:per intels comparability the i5-10500h CPU only supports ram up to 2933mhz speed, I personally put in a 32gb 3200mhz kit and it automatically underclocks the kit to 2933mhz. Not terrible but it’s something to note
Over all at 800$ at its lowest price yet this is an easy buy since you can buy a new set of RAM and a second NVME SSD and upgrade it yourself and still stay a few hundred bucks under any other 3060 based laptop. It’s a solid pick up for anyone who needs a laptop for school/work/travel but also wants to be able to game or edit on.
However if you over 850$ I’d say wait or keep looking because of the limitations on this otherwise fairly solid entry gaming laptop

I bought this during the Black Friday Sale ($849.99), and so far, I'm very happy with my purchase. Just one thing to note: make sure you upgrade the RAM immediately. 8 GB isn't going to cut it with any sort of multitasking you'll be doing on this beast.
Pros:
- Decently fast, definitely enough for any AAA/VR games
- Smooth 144hz IPS screen
- GPU and CPU stays relatively cool
Cons:
- Loud fan
- Battery life for productivity isn't significant (~3-4 hours from 100%)
- Personally, I feel the arrow keys are oddly aligned
The build materials, battery life, and noise trades for a great gaming laptop if that's the only thing you're going to do.

It’s fine when it works. Battery life is horrible. It won’t load steam so if you plan on using that, I’d stay away. Connected to Wi-Fi but yet constantly says there’s a connection error. I literally have one game on it and i usually have to click on it 100 times (not exaggerating!) for it to even open because it’ll just stop in the middle of launching the game. It also gets extremely hot so make sure you also buy a cooling pad for it. But hey at least the graphics are good when it does decide to work.
