First off I'm not a computer expert, but I go for the deals that are present at the time. With that said, I bought this laptop to replace my old toshiba laptop that I got back in 09, and I have not disappointed, everything worked for me right out of box and it's been just amazing with the speed, lighting, and over all performance. The price was great when I bought it, It was 999 it came out to 1094 if that's not a good deal I don't know what is, but back to topic, there are some issues I have encountered with is unit, 1.battery does not charge completely, it will at certain points but not at all times apparently its a known issue for this unit and other MSI laptops. 2. The dragon Center freezes up alot, now I know I said everything worked great for me right out of box and is still true but only with certain things dragon center is one of them and after a month I have to restart the program an hope it doesn't freeze on me, but other than everythings else works. Storage/memory you only get 512g and 8g which is upgradable and that's amazing, there's nothing wrong about that, it's not an issue or anything, but if do upgrade the S/M be careful not to damage the parts on the sides of the laptop as they can break or become damage very easily, and if you're not and you plan on playing games or adding software just be mindful of the storage have. I like this laptop it's fast the response time on point and when the dragon center works it's amazing especially with gaming, I like it and if find any other problems I'll post it but in the meantime if you looking for a cheap laptop go for this one it's great.

Excellent value for the price; the $849 price tag for an RTX 3060 laptop is just insane. This machine can run all triple-A and VR games smoothly, and it is future-proof (if you are willing to give up on some graphics quality).
However, the low graphics card TGP (75W) could be an issue for some. I get around 6,600 points in 3DMark Time Spy, which is actually closer to GTX 1660 Ti (5,622) and RTX 2060 (6,019) than the RTX 3060 average (8,279).
If you are considering an upgrade from GTX 1660 Ti or RTX 2060 then this might not be worth your money. Otherwise, this is the best gaming laptop you could get for this price.

Overall, a good value, not without its quirks.

This is a great deal at $800 for a 3060 powered laptop. This system needs at the very least a RAM upgrade, which is a little annoying since the whole bottom case has to come off to install an SSD/RAM. It doesn't have access doors for either, it should. My screen has a couple light spots when black where the backlight bleeds through, it's annoying and careless from a QC standpoint but not enough of a issue to want to return it for a new system considering the price point. Overall the system performs well with more ram (upgraded to 32gb in my case).
My biggest complaint is the quality of the case it's in, it feels flimsy, like I would worry about the entire thing flexing if I hold it one handed... It probably needs a thicker shell or a different case design entirely, they definitely cut corners on this case/shell

Great gaming laptop for its price! Can basically play any game no problem. I mainly play fps so the fact that it can handle 144 fps is great. Adding a bigger SSD and ram and you got yourself a great gaming laptop for the price!

It was an okay laptop for the price, performance felt throttled at times with the CPU and could get hot easily at times, but overall a solid contender to anything at this price

So far the computer itself has worked great and run games with little issues. The only problem has been the battery. Right from day one it has failed to hold a charge very long at all.

Really the best gaming laptop deal there was. I had to full restart once since it had a freezing problem the first week receiving. Prior reviews say it has to do with a msi gaming platform driver. When you find the right driver update it performs amazing like it should. This could be a lot of work if your a perfectionist.
Arrived on time with brand new factory box everything. Very hot laptop so an extra cooling stand is a must for laptop safety. Performance isn’t anything special if its on battery. Battery life is really just for surfing or light computer work. It’s the best budget gaming laptop when its plugged in with setting on high performance. I haven’t had a high performing laptop in a while. Thank you Best Buy for a great deal.

Good components for the money at the regular price, excellent value when on sale.
Not the best components, but your are not paying full price for the best on the market. The 3060 can run any game at 1080, but you can't run ultra quality on the newest AAA games. The cpu is good enough. The keyboard and trackpad are good enough. The screen is good enough for most people. The battery is good enough for a gaming laptop, if battery life is important to you don't buy a gaming laptop. To get better you have to pay more for each area, but this is meant to be a budget product.
The only real upgrade you should do is increase the ram, which is relatively easy to do. While on sale and adding 8gb of ram, for around $1k total you have a decent system that should last you through 2023 when hopefully the shortages and prices get better.

I use this laptop when I'm travelling or want to stream something on my livingroom TV. It's amazing so far, no issues and can handle most games really well, which is great for when my main PC broke down for a while. Love this little guy.

Honestly shocked at the quality of this laptop for the price.
Positives:
All around a solid laptop, especially given the price.
Good heat piping
Metal Chasis is nice
rtx 3060 is holding up really nicely for all the triple A titles I play
Cons:
Does run hot (as expected of a gaming laptop)
8 gbs of RAM to start off with is not much, but this can be upgraded so it is not a huge issue.

For the price ($799) this was easily the best machine with a 3060 GPU. MSI has always maximized performance by utilizing best peripheral materials and engineering.
This laptop does need help staying cool if you want to game at its peak capability, but nothing a good cooling pad didn’t fix immediately.
Also, I was able to unlock “overclocking” in BIOS which allowed me to undervolt the cpu so that the temperatures stay down so the performance doesn’t lag due to higher than optimal temps.
This machine outperforms my nephew’s ASUS ROG with an i7 11750 and 3070! Something about how MSI builds machines!

Solid Performer. Unfortunately has the low gdp or tdp (if you prefer) version of the 3060. You can flash a higher tdp/gdp bios on it, with risks, but works fine, as the cooling is adequate and sufficient headroom for a higher tdp gbios. I5 present is plently sufficient to not bottleneck the gpu, battery life is mid to poor, but on intel graphics - its greatly increased. Stuck with red led or no led for the keyboard (which is okay), 144hz display is good, ips display, but uniformity and peak brightness are lacking. This is, however, a decent gaming laptop with overall good performance for this price point.

so i was searching the web for gaming laptops and i saw this one at 799$. i was looking through the specs and they were pretty good. (i upgraded to 16gb of ram). The CPU is not half bad and the GPU is great. So far I have not had a problem at all, it is really fast with any game on medium/high settings. Must do’s: Upgrade to 16gb of ram, buy a cooling pad, keep plugged up/put the battery so it only goes up to 60 in dragon center. Great computer for when I got it on the deal.
