It's a good laptop for those who are looking for a new, decent computer coming from an older generation of laptops. You can find it on sale every once in a while which makes the price amazing for what it is at 300$ off. If storage or the amount of ram is not desirable, it can easily be upgraded with an additional ram slot and nvme SSD slot. It's a good device overall, however, the battery life is not the best.

I've now purchased 2 of these for my children. They're running a middle of the road i5 CPU with a power restricted RTX3060 graphics card which will play the majority of current pc games at 1080p with good performance. On both of them I've upgraded to 16GB of ram by throwing another 8GB stick in the available slot, though kind of a pain to open up and install. You really don't want less than 16GB moving forward so if you aren't comfortable with opening up the laptop you might want to spend the extra money and get a version with more ram. Otherwise my older son's laptop has been running pretty solid for 3 months now and he's had no issues playing all the games he loves. Get this on sale and throw in another stick of ram and maybe another hard drive and you'll be good to go.

Amazing value. Bought it on sale at $799. Purchased 16GB of Corsair ram to boost the performance. You simply will not find a better gaming laptop at this price. The next steps up are nearly double the price at $1,200+ Don't be fooled into settling for a 3050 or a 3050ti laptop. The gap between these and a 3060 (75w) is huge. Especially when the games require more than 4+ Gbs of Vram. The 3060 has 6GBs. Stunning deal.

For this price you really can't get anything better--got it for 920$ on sale. The screen, speaker, and battery aren't the best, but that was something I was willing to sacrifice on. Everything else about this laptop is awesome and have had the GPU go up to 1890Mhz which is insane for a 3060 laptop. Also, the laptop exterior finish attracts fingerprints and oils like crazy--have a microfiber cloth handy if you have OCD. Keyboard is great and has tactile keys with great key travel. There are a few tweaks that should be done out of the box in my opinion. 1. Add another stick of 8gb RAM or replace with 2x16GB sticks for 32GB RAM. Make sure to get DDR4 SODIM 3200Mhz. The processor will downclock to 2933Mhz. 2. Undervolt the cpu to about -130mV to get insanely lower temps and better performance since it wont thermal/power throttle the processor. To do this, go into the BIOS by pressing delete key on startup. Then in BIOS hold all these keys together to unlock advanced menu: Right Shift + Right Ctrl + Left Alt + F2. Then you can go into overclocking menu under processor and select the core voltage to -130mV. Make sure to change prefix to negative and not positive. You mat not get up to 130mV like I did so try 100mV first. 3. Re-paste the CPU/GPU with a high quality thermal paste. I used Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut.

    Decent specs, cheap feel

I purchased this laptop when it went on sale to make room for the next generation in the line. I had never tried an MSI build before, but the combination of specs and price enticed me to try it out. I had to upgrade the ram and remove a good amount of bloatware to make the unit not feel sluggish. Then I noticed that the internet connection kept dropping as well. One of the antenna connectors on the wifi card was not seated correctly. To be fair, they can be a pain to connect properly, so no shade to the poor individual who has to put these together. Beware, you will need to break the tamper seal to make any of these changes/corrections. I added in another harddrive while I was at it. The laptop has decent performance now. I'm probably set for a few years with the improvements. Overall, I would not make this purchase again. The case quality feels like cheap plastic, and the profile of said case is a bit bulkier than I'd like. My next laptop will not be an MSI build based on what I've seen in this item. I'd rather get a sturdier feeling case/build and a pay a bit more than go through the hassle I went through on this one.

A bargain for a laptop with a 3060 at $850. Probably a fair value at $1100. Gaming performance is good. Keep in mind that it was a little hard to upgrade as you have to remove the entire bottom plate and a tiny piece near the screen. Thus, it was not as easy as I thought it would be to upgrade. The gaming performance increased modestly by adding another stick of RAM. Definitely worth adding another stick of RAM for gaming.

Plays next gen games medium setting at 144hz, ultra at 60hz external monitor. Battery life is less than an hour for me under a load, which is the only reason im giving this 4 stars. If you can get this on sale, it makes for a great budget gaming laptop. Just have to keep it plugged it all the time.

It is a great gaming laptop! It was my birthday gift to hubby, just so lucky that it went on sale during his birthday month! :) the graphics is superb. The battery drains fast but because i think since he is using it purely for gaming, but like hours. Other than that hubby is happy :)

I bought this for my daughter, who is an art major in college. It has pretty good specs and I got it on sale for early cyber-week. It is lightweight, there was no bloatware out of the box so setup was much faster. Battery life is not an issue yet as she's only had it a few weeks and uses it to draw mostly, but it seems pretty good. She hasn't had any issues as of yet. The only thing she has mentioned is that after trying to play a simple game, the fan starts to crank and it gets warm pretty fast.

Nice PC. 8GB RAM is not enough! I had issues running Doom Eternal and memory was maxed out. It stuttered and took some time to load. I upgraded to the allowable max 64gb, but it boots faster and runs very smooth now. Games load up very quick and no stuttering during games. Gets pretty warm when playing and can feel it through the keyboard. Overall happy with the purchase.

New to gaming, this laptop does the job pretty well. However, when adding 32 gifs of ram and a 1TB ssd, this laptop is absolutely amazing. I’m able to play VR wirelessly while streaming to twitch at the same time with no issues. Laptop angles like a champ. Only negative I have is the battery life is near non existent. Expect to have this plugged in 24/7

Upgraded RAM to 16GB and added a 2nd 2TB NVME Drive for extra storage. Now a gaming beast. Before on Borderlands 3 and Wonderlands would drop frames on 1080p Ultra with 8GB ram. Upgrading to 16GB fixed that quick. Screen is a little iffy that when you go into windows display there is no option for 60hz. Only 50hz and 144hz to choose from.

Great bang for the buck gaming laptop. I added 32gb ram right away. 8 isn't enough. 16 probably would be plenty. I got tired of looking for a gpu and needed to update a laptop anyways. this did the trick for the low demand games I play. This is a great deal if you have realistic expectations. Battery life isn't very good, but that is expected.
