Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the high performance of the GS66 15.6" gaming laptop, noting its speed and ability to handle demanding tasks. However, some users experienced excessive fan noise, even during periods of low activity. Concerns were also raised regarding CPU temperatures and potential performance limitations under heavy load. The laptop's powerful components appear to contribute to both its impressive speed and its elevated noise and heat levels.

Excellent gaming laptop! Screen is crisp with the 300 hz. When I am not gaming on it, I mine. Laptop stays extremely cool with the MSI cooler boost tech. Would highly recommend it!

I was looking for a laptop to take me into 2021 and beyond with all the upcoming high-end graphics required games and I am not disappointed by MSI. I liked it so much I bought a 2nd for my spouse.

This is a wonderful high end gaming pc that runs the Xbox games. The biggest surprise is MSI customers support 23 hrs a day weekdays

I hate the fact you can't upgrade this pc with out voiding your warranty. MSI is the only brand the adds a stickers in the back of the laptop covering one screw so if you open it your warranty will be voided. So that is the reason. I return this garbage.

good but so many bad first impressions

just bought this. this is better than msi ge66 raider. thinner, sleeker, looks like a normal laptop but a nice normal laptop. cooling fans work great. graphics are nice. you can see the smoothness in the 300hz panel. drawback is, the shipping box was crushed, while inside packaging was moving around. I bought online and did store pickup. i told the employee the box is crushed and he said it should be okay. took it home and the inside box is slight crushed on the corner. The plastic in which the power cable was connected was very wrinkly and looks used. If new, it means it was shaking and banging during shipment. I open the laptop and you can see there is a scratch or some form of imprint that is a straight line on the bottom of the laptop parallel to the mouse pad, most likely from being pressed. it looks like it lines up with the screen bezel. so far it runs but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It also had problems with my corsair gaming mouse. Plugged it in, detected it and then it didnt work. Replugged the mouse and it said windows cannot detect and device seems defective. Tried it back on my other laptop, and it showed same error, replugged but it worked. then replugged into this msi and now it works. very confusing and so far i like the laptop but there are so many minor things that leave a bad first impression. I will see in a bit to see if there are any new problems.

Do It All Piece of Kit, with Caveats

    Posted .

This is a really solid piece of kit - dGPU is the laptop 3080 16gb, though the lower TDP will stop it from reaching its full potential. Cool to receive this part - was expecting the 8gb. More importantly, it suits my needs in portability, battery life, and not looking silly in the office. I need a webcam for those times I'm not near my home setup - strange that this year of all years new laptops are coming out without webcams. Note that this is the 10750h processor, a 6 core part with a little less performance than it's 10870h brethren (those are 8 core, I believe). Price to performance isn't great on processor alone, as the new Ryzen chips monster this one on benchmarks. For my use case I doubt I'll feel this difference, but it's worth mentioning. Ultimately this is the right machine for me due to the combination of factors - a do-it-all beast that I'm paying up a little bit to have. The fact that I can play whatever games I want when I take off my suit and tie is pretty excellent too. Pros: Portability Battery Life Has Webcam w/Windows Hello 3080 16gb laptop gpu Cons: Lower-TDP laptop gpu Lower-power 10750h processor FN key is a little small, trifle awkward

Terrible battery life (less than 3 hours), lots of screen flickering or glitches, random crashes, cannot run minecraft rtx for some reason? Literally one fps lol Yeah I’m returning this asap
