Mine broke

When i got mine it initially worked mostly properly. After 20 or days of getting the product my screen stopped working. The screen would look somewhat like the matrix upon start up and be distorted or the screen wouldnt even work. If it did however and i was able to sign on to my computer the screen would, after varying amounts of time, go a solid color such as white, purple, and green and thus be unuseable and i would have to hold the power button down to shut it off. Out of the box Nvidia shadowplay did not function properly regardless of what i changed settings wise. Also uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and geforce experience had no effect whatsoever on its functioning. I do not know if this is due to a bad graphics card or what but (i didnt change graphics setting on the computer, only in game) i experience horrible fluctuations in frame rate in even pretty unintense games such as XCOM and rocket league. This likely is only a problem with the individual computer i recieved and hopefully not an issue with the entire line of them

Ive owned this product for a month, so far im still pleased with it. I use it pretty much exclusively for work so if you play games go ahead and look past this review. I use it alot for 3D modeling and amimation (Blender) and it does the bmw benchmark in approximately 1 min 36 sec. workspace play back of animations are very usable, even with high poly counts Which is very respectable. The keyboard is a very nice size, the screen resolution is as advertised. All in all a great product especially considering this comes second only to a model that comes watercooled. The only reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because i had a few issues with the graphics driver but after the most recent nvidia update its worked properly. Honestly i dont know how long the battery will last because im always connected to the power supply seeing as to how blender drops performance on just the battery, im sure that can be changed through the power settings, but in a cumputer with this much to offer i dont see battery life as a negative. Also i very much recommend the alienware orion backpack for carrying it, its quite heavy but thats to be expected in a package like this, it fits perfectly with room to spare.

I would like to have given it 4.95 stars because the Mic on the camera isnt the best. But you can swap drives without voiding the warranty so I swapped the spinning secondary drive with a 1 TB ssd drive.
Still gets hot like all other high end laptops and has the sidekick aka the brick power supply. But. Performs great with 2 more monitors!

Great gaming laptop for the price level.

For the price range this laptop is in, there are few who can even compare to the hardware you get for the price. (Blu-Ray burner, 32GB RAM, 8GB 980M video, i7-6820 CPU to name but a few of them).
The laptop is overall super quiet, if you engage the cooling fans on the laptop, it gets pretty cool fast (and is still not that loud). The sound is really nice, and I'm often having to turn it down when anyone but me is listening to it! (Headphones work, but it's almost a crime to use as the speaker system as it is very nice!)
Plenty of USB ports (3.0 and a 3.1 Super/Thunderbolt port in the back)
One thing I don't believe is mentioned here, but unlike most laptops, this one you can upgrade (via the MXM graphics module). From what I read they are not cheap, but a nice added bonus.
I've only had the laptop about a week, but it plays pretty much anything out there now and typically at the highest graphic selections.

I purchased this laptop in hopes of running games in the highest quality, and it definitely has that ability. Great performance on ultra settings and even maintains 60 fps if not 75 fps on some of the most demanding games. If you can afford it you should totally get it.
