Works excellent can tell the difference from jumping from a 3070 gpu to this. Would highly recommend to anyone who is interested in a 5090 series gpu.

I recently picked up the NVIDIA RTX 5090 from Best Buy, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the entire experience—from purchase to performance.
Shopping Experience:
Best Buy made the process seamless. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely excited about the product. They answered all my questions and made sure I got exactly what I needed. The checkout was quick, and the packaging was secure and pristine.
Product Performance:
The RTX 5090 is an absolute beast. It chews through 4K gaming like it’s nothing, and ray tracing performance is next-level. I’ve never seen visuals this crisp and fluid. Whether I’m gaming, rendering, or experimenting with AI tools, this card handles everything effortlessly. Temps stay cool, and the noise levels are impressively low for such a powerhouse.
Why Best Buy?
I could’ve gone elsewhere, but Best Buy’s reliability, return policy, and customer service sealed the deal. Plus, their Geek Squad support gives me peace of mind if I ever need help down the line.
If you’re on the fence about upgrading or wondering where to buy your next GPU—don’t hesitate. Best Buy and the RTX 5090 are a dream combo.

Great Card - Way too Expensive

Pros: The best money can buy, Good looking card, solid thermals, quiet even on OC mode, no coil whine on mine
Cons: Price price price, I know the market is crazy, but there is really no reason for this to be $700 over MSRP. I understand charging a premium for RBG and a beefer cooler over the founders edition, but this just feels like scalping from MSI
Be aware this card is also MASSIVE, so make sure it will fit in your case. I had to make some slight modifications to mine to get it to fit haha

Let's be honest, this is a graphics card for enthusiasts. It is wildly overpriced, wildly powerful, overbuilt cooling for overclocking, and absolutely huge. Make sure your case has room for it.
That said, as far as performance, it delivers on all fronts.

Pretty amazing performance, it takes a lot of power. It runs cool on the chip but it dumps heat into a room. I run mine pretty frequently and hard when I game, and the room warms up fast and smells like hot electronics. No melting but I have a PSU that has the new 12x6 connector instead of the first gen 12vhpwr one.

The card is OK - it's just fine. It's a bit faster than the 4090 and nothing competes with it, so prices are whatever the market will bear. If you want the best, this is it.
It's not as impressive as cards like the 4090 or the 1080 Ti. More like the 2080 Ti or the GTX 780.
MSI's variant here is just fine; all the problems and negatives are inherent to the 5090 GPU itself. The MSI Gaming OC is well built, has a good warranty, stays cool.
Lots of small software issues indicate either the launch was rushed or Nvidia doesn't care about gaming GPUs anymore, but all were resolved with a few hours digging around on forums.

Had to sell my first born child to pay for this graphics card but it is everything as advertised, extremely fast. Upgraded from a 2080 super and there is a very noticeable difference with every game. FPS is no longer an issue and considering buying better monitors to keep up with the card.
It was very hard to find a 5090 and Best Buy had the best 'wait in line' system compared to every other retailer. They made it easy to purchase and pick up within the same week.

What I Love:
1. Insane FPS in Every Game:
The first time I fired up Cyberpunk 2077 with everything maxed out (ray tracing on ultra, DLSS 4.0), I was getting over 140 FPS in 4K. No stutters, no drops, just buttery smooth gameplay. Fortnite, Warzone, Valorant—all running like they’re on steroids. Competitive shooters feel like I’m seeing into the future with how quick the response is. I can see and hit targets faster than ever before.
2. DLSS 4.0 + Ray Tracing:
DLSS 4.0 is like magic. It boosts performance without killing the quality. I can play in 4K and it looks better than native resolution, somehow. Ray tracing used to be something I turned off to keep my frames up, but now I leave it on full blast and my system doesn’t even flinch. Minecraft RTX looks so good it’s like a different game.
3. Future-Proofing:
This card doesn’t just crush today’s games—it’s built for what’s next. I tested out some Unreal Engine 5 demos and AI tools, and they all run smooth. I even started learning Blender and doing AI video upscaling, and the 5090 chews through everything. I don’t think I’ll need to upgrade for years, and that’s awesome.
4. Streaming and Recording at the Same Time:
With the dual NVENC encoders, I can stream at max quality while recording a separate file in 4K without lag. OBS runs flawlessly, and my stream doesn’t miss a frame. My viewers noticed the difference right away. Plus, the AV1 encoding makes everything look cleaner at lower bitrates, which helps my stream look pro even if the internet isn’t perfect.
5. Cooling and Noise:
I was worried about heat and fan noise, especially since I game for hours, but this thing runs surprisingly cool. Even under full load, it stays in the 60s (Celsius) with almost no noise. My case has good airflow, but the cooler on the 5090 is doing serious work. I’ve even left it mining overnight (just messing around), and it stayed chill the whole time.
⸻
What I Don’t Like:
1. The Size is RIDICULOUS:
It’s a monster. I had to get a new case (Lian Li O11D EVO) just to fit it, and even then, I had to rearrange everything inside. If you’re not rocking a full tower or a high-end mid tower, forget about fitting this card. It’s also super heavy, so you need a GPU support bracket, or it’ll sag hard.
2. Price Tag is Brutal:
Let’s be real—this card costs more than most entire gaming PCs. I was lucky that I saved for a long time and my parents matched some of it for my birthday (thanks, Mom & Dad). But for most people, this is way out of reach. It’s hard to recommend unless you’re really pushing the limits like I am, or you’re a serious content creator.
3. Power Hungry:
You need a 1000W PSU minimum, and three 8-pin connectors (or one 12VHPWR cable). That meant another upgrade just to use the card. It also puts out a ton of heat if you don’t have good airflow. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely something to plan for.
4. Overkill for Casual Gaming:
If you’re mostly playing games like Roblox, League, or CS2, this card is massive overkill. It’s like bringing a rocket launcher to a Nerf war. Amazing, but kind of wasted unless you’re really using it for 4K gaming, AI, or 3D rendering.
⸻
How I Use It:
I use the RTX 5090 for everything:
• Competitive FPS (Valorant, Fortnite, Apex) – High refresh 1440p and 4K, no dips, super consistent.
• Streaming on Twitch (OBS with AV1) – Stream + record at the same time, zero impact on gameplay.
• Content creation – I edit clips in DaVinci Resolve and do some 3D work in Blender. Renders are so fast now.
• AI/ML experiments – I’ve been trying Stable Diffusion, LLMs, and even voice cloning. The 5090 handles it all with ease.
• VR – I play Half-Life: Alyx and Beat Saber on my Quest 3 via PC Link, and everything is ultra smooth.
⸻
Final Thoughts:
The RTX 5090 is like having a Bugatti for your PC. It’s crazy powerful, ridiculously fast, and opens up a whole new level of gaming, streaming, and content creation. But it’s also expensive, massive, and a bit over the top for casual users.
If you’re a hardcore gamer, competitive esports player, or content creator who wants the best of the best, and you’ve got the setup to support it, this card is a dream. I’m 14, and this card makes me feel like I’m already competing on a pro level.
Would I buy it again? 100%. It’s the most exciting upgrade I’ve ever made—and I’m just getting started.

What is there to say? It's a 5090 so except for burning up and black screening and not supporting 32bit PhysX it's the best and most amazing GPU......
Also, it is overpriced and Nvidia doesn't care......this one found a new home and I believe they love it but this is a bad time to be a gamer.

I'm a data scientist, not a gamer.
Pros:
I must admit the MSI RTX 5090 is incredible as it's sped up my work 3x from my previous 12GB 4070 Super. The 5090 is handling my deep learning model so well, I think I will attempt to increase the capacity of my models.
Cons
The price is steep, this is the biggest purchase I've made in a decade.
No fault of Nvidia's, but TensorFlow doesn't work on these GPUs and their most recent CUDA versions, you will have to convert your code base to use PyTorch 2.7.0. That was a little troubling.
Overall: If you're a data scientist, I would recommend trying to curb your consumerism and wait until the price drops. Unless you are in a situation where you are training more than 3 models simultaneously.

Runs every game over 60 fps and will match monitors with 240 refresh rates with the aid of upscaling and frame generation. Great performance all around and plenty of vram. Also works great with the Quest 3 and the PSVR2!

This thing is massive, so that could be a problem for small cases. It is quiet however, and thermally good. It comes with a gpu support that I had to google how to use, but seems to work. It is generally very pricey though for what it is. I used a coupon and gift certificate to offset, but wouldn't have bought this version otherwise.
I have not had any issues with the 4-way power splitter while using a Seasonic Prime 1000 and 4 individual original cables.

5090 pricing is STUPID...but with sales and using the BB credit card one can get up to $300 dollars off with 12 month no interest financing so..... This card cost right where MSRP was of a standard 5090 card so I pulled the trigger. Thing is a beast. Yes $2000 is a lot of money but when you're gaming at 4K with all the settings maxed this is it.

This is an excellent graphics card — performance is top-tier, cooling is solid, and it runs everything I throw at it with ease. I was a little surprised to see the MSRP drop a few months after my purchase, but that just makes it an even better deal for anyone buying now. Despite that, I’m very happy with the card itself and would definitely recommend it. I'm a bit salty about the MSRP of the card dropping, and am not sure I'm able to get the price matched anymore, which is a bummer; but this card still rocks.
