This thing is an absolute powerhouse. I maxed out the graphics on every simulator and game I have, with no issues whatsoever. For context, I run Microsoft flight simulator 2024, DCS, and several other very highly graphic intensive applications, in addition to doing it all in VR at times. It is hard to go wrong with 36 GB of VRAM. The only downside is the price. That is not the fault of Best Buy, that is the fault of crypto miners.

Pros: The best money can buy, Good looking card, solid thermals, quiet even on OC mode, no coil whine on mine Cons: Price price price, I know the market is crazy, but there is really no reason for this to be $700 over MSRP. I understand charging a premium for RBG and a beefer cooler over the founders edition, but this just feels like scalping from MSI Be aware this card is also MASSIVE, so make sure it will fit in your case. I had to make some slight modifications to mine to get it to fit haha

Very Expensive, Incrementally Better than 4090

The card is OK - it's just fine. It's a bit faster than the 4090 and nothing competes with it, so prices are whatever the market will bear. If you want the best, this is it. It's not as impressive as cards like the 4090 or the 1080 Ti. More like the 2080 Ti or the GTX 780. MSI's variant here is just fine; all the problems and negatives are inherent to the 5090 GPU itself. The MSI Gaming OC is well built, has a good warranty, stays cool. Lots of small software issues indicate either the launch was rushed or Nvidia doesn't care about gaming GPUs anymore, but all were resolved with a few hours digging around on forums.

Had to sell my first born child to pay for this graphics card but it is everything as advertised, extremely fast. Upgraded from a 2080 super and there is a very noticeable difference with every game. FPS is no longer an issue and considering buying better monitors to keep up with the card. It was very hard to find a 5090 and Best Buy had the best 'wait in line' system compared to every other retailer. They made it easy to purchase and pick up within the same week.

Runs every game over 60 fps and will match monitors with 240 refresh rates with the aid of upscaling and frame generation. Great performance all around and plenty of vram. Also works great with the Quest 3 and the PSVR2!

The card runs cool and quiet and, paired with a 9800X3D, within range of what's expected with an aftermarket, overclocked RTX 5090.

    Great... For Some People

I installed this thing myself like a caveman. It's massive, bulky, and HOT. My games run like butter, my software is seamless, and there's absolutely no reason you should purchase this unless the most important thing to you in your PC experience is gaming graphics. It's overkill. It's too expensive. And, in 95% of cases, a much cheaper 3090 will do just fine. Now, as a professional using 3D software, this was an easy buy. My only qualm with it is was easily 3 inches longer than my 3090, which made it a tight fit in my tower, and the fact that it didn't come with the PCIE cables required to connect to a (slightly) older power brick (2019). I came very close to frying the thing because I was preparing to use just what they gave me, but fortunately a friend caught me and told me I had to get a different kind of adapter.

First off, it's a great graphics card. The price was very reasonable unlike other websites that charged way above msrp. What I really liked was that it shipped with adequate protection as this was a major concern for me.

The Ultimate Beast for Gaming and Creativity

The MSI NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 32G GAMING TRIO OC is hands down one of the most impressive graphics cards I’ve ever seen. Its 32GB GDDR7 memory and PCIe Gen 5 support make it insanely fast, whether you’re gaming at 4K/8K or handling heavy creative workloads like 3D rendering or video editing. I love the TRIO fan design—it keeps the card cool and quiet even under intense load. The build feels premium, and the black finish looks sleek in any setup. Ray tracing and AI-enhanced graphics run flawlessly, giving games and applications an ultra-realistic edge. The only thing to watch for is its size—it’s a big card, so make sure your case can fit it. But performance-wise, it’s unbeatable and future-proof. If you want top-tier gaming and content creation without compromise, this is the card to get.

I'm a data scientist, not a gamer. Pros: I must admit the MSI RTX 5090 is incredible as it's sped up my work 3x from my previous 12GB 4070 Super. The 5090 is handling my deep learning model so well, I think I will attempt to increase the capacity of my models. Cons The price is steep, this is the biggest purchase I've made in a decade. No fault of Nvidia's, but TensorFlow doesn't work on these GPUs and their most recent CUDA versions, you will have to convert your code base to use PyTorch 2.7.0. That was a little troubling. Overall: If you're a data scientist, I would recommend trying to curb your consumerism and wait until the price drops. Unless you are in a situation where you are training more than 3 models simultaneously.

What can I say, it's obviously the best GPU on the market, no competition at this end, hands down. I play at 4k and usually always have the graphics cranked up. This MSI version handles it well and is very quiet. I used to have it paired with a 13700k, but now have it paired with a 9800x3d and WOW, what a difference. I thought it was doing good before, but now I'm constantly pegged at 160fps pretty on most games. I didn't think a new CPU at 4k would make such a difference, but it sure did. If you do get this card, don't leave performance on the table.

This is an excellent graphics card — performance is top-tier, cooling is solid, and it runs everything I throw at it with ease. I was a little surprised to see the MSRP drop a few months after my purchase, but that just makes it an even better deal for anyone buying now. Despite that, I’m very happy with the card itself and would definitely recommend it. I'm a bit salty about the MSRP of the card dropping, and am not sure I'm able to get the price matched anymore, which is a bummer; but this card still rocks.

5090 pricing is STUPID...but with sales and using the BB credit card one can get up to $300 dollars off with 12 month no interest financing so..... This card cost right where MSRP was of a standard 5090 card so I pulled the trigger. Thing is a beast. Yes $2000 is a lot of money but when you're gaming at 4K with all the settings maxed this is it.

Been using this card for a couple months now. after upgrading from the 3090 Ti I can say that this is a nice step up in performance from the previous generation. The stability and performance has shocked me and excided all expectations I've set for it. Would recommend for anyone looking to game at 4K res and high FPS preformance.

I upgraded from a 3060 and this gpu is in a whole other universe. I no long have to worry if I can run certain games because I can essentially run any game at ultra settings especially if I use the frame generation. Which I know is a but polarizing among some people but it works great and unless you have the input lag numbers right in front of you its pretty negligable to the naked eye. If you can get one for retail great but try to hold out if you can don’t let the scalpers get the best of you (trust I almost bought a 5080 from a scalper before I used up a liftime worth of luck to get this). Good luck!
