I purchased this motherboard several months ago when I upgraded my gaming PC. I of course paired it with an Intel Skylake CPU, the Intel Core i7 6700k, and some DDR4 RAM and it has performed very well overall. Most of my comments on it are positive, with only a couple of negatives. Pros: -Solid construction overall -Graphics card slots are metal, which makes me less nervous using my large GTX 1080 GPU -Easy set up -Good layout for the connections, nothing out of the ordinary -UEFI is very easy to use, including overclocking -Motherboard looks very cool, the red and black scheme matches nicely with my black case and blue case lights Cons: -When I tried to connect a fourth accessory display to the motherboard's HDMI inputs, and after enabling the onboard video in the UEFI, I experienced several blue screens, as well as Windows instability -Cost - this motherboard is not cheap Overall, if the cost is acceptable to you, then this motherboard is a solid option. I do not know why the onboard video has given me trouble, I suspect that issue is not widespread and so I have no trouble recommending this motherboard. MSI has another winner!!!

This is the second MSI motherboard I have owned and they have yet to disappoint. This has a lot of bells and whistle you probably don't need for a basic gaming machine. Honestly, I got it because I had a windowed case and I wanted the back IO cover. In the end, this turned out to not be a huge deal because the back IO is mostly covered up by the rear exhaust fan (as is the fancy cover they put on). Beyond that, this board has solid components, support for Turbo M.2, the OC utility - pretty much everything a growing gaming machine needs. The only thing I would advise is to download the BIOS update, the drivers and some of the software from the MSI website before you build. The drivers don't update properly until the BIOS is updated and you will have some compatibility issues, particularly with Windows 10 until you get that all sorted. For example, the Killer NIC wouldn't work at all until I had done this. All in all a pleasant experience and it's hard to beat the look of this board for z170 without spending $300+.

This thing is fantastic, only thing to keep in mind is that this is a bulkier board, and may be a little difficult to put into some smaller cases.

No problems so far and install was very easy. Depending on your case you may need to replace the screws that come on the shroud covering the integrated components. Shipping through bestbuy could be improved. Tracking info wasn't updated and continued to show a status of processing when the item was already shipped.

The motherboard allows for adequate build space for any light build as well as moderate room for ski/crossfire and is very easy to use

When i got it over 3 years ago, its amazing still running with 1080ti need to probably OC ram for games like rust but other than that everything is great

were to start, so many good things to say about this motherboard MSI hands down best out there when coming to gaming. motherboard looks just as good as in the picture, I've had it for several weeks already and no problem with it "knock on wood"
