My choice to buy this monitor came after several months of internal debate. I really needed a 4K monitor for work but I also wanted a wide screen for productivity and editing. While I considered a dual monitor setup or even a triple monitor setup my desk and viewing angle is best accommodated by a widescreen. Regardless, if you are considering this monitor you know why you want this and not a multi-monitor setup. So onto what I love about this monitor. Pros: Colors are fantastic Screen real estate is exactly what I need The side I/O (2x usb + sd reader + headphone + mic jacks) are used surprisingly often Magnetic note holder on the base is also surprisingly useful, especially while at a standing desk I definitely work way more efficiently as compared to my old dual 1080p monitor setup. It is far more similar to my ultrawide 1440p setup but has the vertical pixels I need. Having the side I/O was a feature I didn't really expect to use very much but it is super handy to be able to quickly connect something quickly. pull what I need, and be done without fiddling under my desk or rolling over to my laptop. Depending on your setup this may not matter as much to you. The brightness is very good and adjustable. The HDR does look amazing, though most of the time I use eye saver mode but when I want to relax and watch something on this monitor it does look incredible. Indeed it is not true HDR10 but it is way better than all the other HDR monitors I have used, 100 candela make a big difference. Also, the menu is nothing super special but it works just fine and the controls are easy. Which brings me to what I don't love about this monitor. The picture by picture ratio cannot be adjusted so if you have a 4K input beside a 1080p input both will occupy half the screen. This is especially annoying when I am using one of my older laptops docked with two outputs. It supports two 4K outputs so I have black bars top and bottom of the screen. If I could adjust the ratio between the picture by picture I could drive one 4K image and one 1280x2160 which honestly for my use case would be ideal. I would love to see this as an update in the future. The cable for the USB hub features cannot carry audio signals unless it id from a USB device (like a USB microphone) so in order to use the side jacks for headphones or microphone you need to connect a separate audio cable from the rear of the monitor to separate audio and microphone jacks on your computer. I am not exactly sure, but it seems that it should be possible from an engineering standpoint for the audio signal to be carried by the same cable as the USB hub. Now I have NOT TESTED this, but I don't think the USB-C for display port over USB can carry that signal either, nor will it support the USB hub so you cannot use a single cable to connect to this monitor if you want to use all of its features you would have one USB-C for picture, one USB-B to USB-A (the USB-A connects to your computer) to run the USB hub features (2 USB-A ports on the left side + 1 USB-A on the rear + SD reader on left side), and a 3.5mm TRRS splitter (from back of monitor) to one 3.5mm mic jack and one 3.5mm audio jack (both connect to computer). Also, the rear I/O cover is pretty flimsy and hard to get connected properly over cables (though there is a cable retention clip which is nice). Fortunately for me the back of the monitor faces the wall most of the time but it also makes cable management a little tough. I don't mind that the housing is white, black may have looked better in my office but that is no big deal. Also 60Hz refresh rate is just fine for me, I never game so it doesn't matter much. Any noticeable input lag is usually more due to the computer rather than the monitor. Some of the more advanced features available through the software are only accessible in the software which is only available for Windows, not Mac OS, nor Linux. I have and use computers with all three operating systems and while some of the software features are nice, there doesn't seem to be anything so revolutionary that I can even think of it when I am not using my Windows machine so it is not a deal breaker for me even though my main machine runs Ubuntu. The last non-complaint I have is that being a flat screen I do notice the difference it makes looking to the edges as compared to a curved monitor, but there is definitely less distortion of straight lines in CAD for example. All in all, I am very happy and expect to use this monitor for years to come unless there is some wild leap forward.

I loved how easy it was to setup and had included cables (favorite being the usb-c!). Great 5k2k 34 monitor that I chose due to price over competition. MSI 34in prestige fulfilled my need for a monitor and delivered beyond my expectations. The strengths of it are the design, price, and ease of use and weaknesses is that a higher stand could be nice
